Oh my.  Reminds me of when people would say, "I can't stand all those eyes staring at me... hundreds of ponies..." and then they would freak out when they saw my collection.  :)

Sounds like you need to relax and enjoy ponies and not get so caught up in the hunt for them!  ;)

Haha, the funny thing is...I haven't looked for (or bought) ponies in MONTHS, and I've never even considered purchasing a nirvana! o_O And compared to some of you ponies, my collection's relatively small... (152)

G3 was my childhood generation that got me started.  :)  Kind of like UnicornTamer, G3s were really all that I knew of MLP for a while. I remember begging my grandparents for a pony (my first, Tink-a-tink-a-too) at a grocery store, and just taking off from there. I was so wrapped up in MLP that I actually still have pictures of my growing collection, one of which is a professional photo of me at the age of three clinging to a G2 McD's French Sundancer (I just wouldn't let her go  ;) ).

I never really knew about MLP's history (the fact of the devided gens) until 2008, after I my family moved across the country and I started to pay more attention to my collection. Now I know so much about the gens and how MLP came to be that I recently wrote my school essay assignment on the history of ponies (almost entirely from my head) :P

As for favorites, I don't know if I have one (I think G1 and G3 are tied), but I do my best to give each and every one the love they deserve  ;)  I really do appreciate G2 (I think they're very elegant) and G4 (the show got me hooked, even though I wasn't so sure about the drastically changed style at first), but if I were to pick a least favorite gen (now, mind you, I don't hate them), it would be G3.5. They remind me of fish. XD

So, I'm a G3 girl all the way--over 75% of my collection are G3s, many of them from when I was a young girl.  ^.^

Yay, thanks for all the hugs  ^.^  Thankfully this dream didn't cling for more than a few minutes, but if I think about it long enough (or read my own description of it  :P ), I find myself shivering.  >_<

Thanks again, you ponies made me feel so much better!

Thank you so much, everypony *hugs back* Nightmares are nasty...but thankfully they don't last. :)

Once upon a time, just a few weeks ago...I have no idea what sparked this dream, but I certainly don't want to relive it. :yikes:

Somehow I was on a mountain. Really snowy, high altitude...apparently I was sledding or something with my brothers. There was a medium density of pine trees, but...well, the overall feeling of the place freaked me out. Like in a horror movie. It was about midday, so it wasn't darkness that made me shiver. I crossed paths with one of my younger brothers, but he went on to the next ridge. I was trudging along, crouching and cowering like something massive was about to leap out at me...

Then I saw a pony. On a rock almost fully buried in the snow. Somewhere under a pine tree (sort of). It was some kind of international G1 Applejack--I'm no good at identifying nirvanas, but I knew in my gut that she was real and rare. As quietly as I could, I snatched her up and tucked her under my coat, despite those creepy (almost real) staring eyes. o_O

I kept walking along, downhill (working towards the west), when I spotted another creepy nirvana Applejack staring at me from behind a tree. Despite my brain screaming at me to turn back, I pressed on...and over the course of minutes, the mountain was dotted with half-hidden nirvanas and incomplete prototypes (not only Applejack). As much as Applejack was once in abundance, I started to notice Windy Wings and flutters, particularly Cool Breeze. I snatched up as many as possible, knowing that soon I would have to run (from who-knows-what) and get the heck out of there. The trees began to thin out and the ponies became more menacing. I was ready to race away, but I didn't.

A dark, horrible ramshackle hut (like seen in a horror movie) seemed to materialize out of the clearing. There were ponies almost every two feet surrounding the hut--all G1s, extremely rare, and terribly tantalizing. There were no birds singing; just pure silence. Again, I snatched up as many as possible, then, just as I felt a shadow cross the clearing, I bolted.

The ponies still stared.

It was at that point that I was in my bedroom (where I used to live, up in MI), gasping for breath and tenderly setting the ponies down on my second bed. That was when I started having my doubts about stealing the ponies. They were like evil sentinels, minions of whatever evil resided in the dilapidated hut. The ponies still stared with evil eyes, and I knew that the shadowy monster knew where they were, and would never stop searching for them.

The next part of my dream was hazy, but the most of what I remember is this--for the first time in my life, I was TERRIFIED of ponies. But as much as they made me want to shy away, it was as if a force was reminding me how rare they were, and how much I had wanted such ponies. But when I tried to hide them (I could feel the pressing darkness), I think I remember them speaking to me in a deranged chorus...something like "Bring us back...you will be punished...!" o_O

I will never, EVER, look at nirvanas and prototypes the same way again.

*snif* I need some pony hugs. NOT EVIL PONY HUGS. PLEASE!! :yikes:

No, they are an 18 piece set. They are pretty chunky, I wish there was an extra-fine side instead of the broad side. These have a broad square tip and a "fine" round tip that is actually quite wide. I love the chunky body of them though.

Thanks! :) Next time I go to Michaels I'll see if they're there.

They are double-ended graphic art markers from Artist's Loft. I got them at Micheals. They seemed to have a nice range of colours, and they do go on nice and smooth. We'll see how well they last!

I'll need to keep my eye out for those--thanks! ^.^ They sound really nice...

EDIT: I just looked them up--are they the 12-piece set?

I like her to!! SO regal!

Regal--what a perfect word! :D

Nicely done :) Usually markers turn out a bit blotchy, but yours is smooth and nice.

Yeah, that's why I've been staying away from markers so long :(
Great job again, reyl! ^.^

Just being curious...was it any specific brand of markers you used...?

Really cute!  ^.^  I love the swirly designs in the background...you have a great style.  :)  Now I'm tempted to break out some markers...I'm used to sketching, like you  ;)

Pony Corral / Re: Mommy Bright Bouquet value?
« on: March 20, 2012, 10:07:18 AM »
Thanks, guys  ^.^  That sounds right about where I was expecting her value to be...

And thanks a lot for the cleaning tips, hathorcat!  :satisfied:

EDIT: She has Daddy BB too!! She thinks she has the girl Baby, but she's not sure since she hasn't found it :)

What is the value of a Daddy Bright Bouquet...? As far as I know he doesn't have any tail rust...

Pony Corral / Mommy Bright Bouquet value?
« on: March 20, 2012, 09:33:04 AM »
What would you G1 experts say a loose Mommy Bright Bouquet is valued at...? My friend lent me hers to clean, and I wanted to give her an approximate price. :) (I don’t expect her value to be over $15, but I could be wrong)

I don’t have any pics, but she’s moderately dirty (mostly surface dirt—I’ve still yet to clean her). The only marks I expect to last are

  • a pink highlighter mark above her DS eye (any solutions to these type of marks?)
  • possible tail rust staining (I’ll do my best to remove it—it’s not very noticeable anyway)
  • a bit of play-wear/ingrained dirt on her hoof rims/ear tips

She has Daddy BB, too--what is his value, and what is the whole family's?

So, any input? I’d like to get an idea of her worth before next Monday (March 26), if possible. ^.^ Also, would anyone have any idea if her particular price will rise somewhat in a few years?

Many thanks in advance to all answers!

« on: March 09, 2012, 03:39:19 PM »
Sugarminty: I think the post is fine right here...I've done some unique drawings requested personally in the Adopties forum :)

What a cute ponysona! If I have the time, I'll give her a shot...just please note that I'm busy and may not be able to  :(

EDIT: Would you mind if I use a G1 lineart I've done...? I've only used it once before on the Arena, so I can assure you I have not mass-produced it :)
