As frustrating as this is going to sound, the right thing to do would be to at least offer a partial refund, and possibly a full one for the doll depending on the extent of the damage.  Before you do that, however, I would politely ask the buyer for pictures of the damage and the doll.  Was the buyer in your country?

Gorgeous, Shelti!  I saw her on eBay, and I thought she was just stunning!  So glad she's at home with you!

Fingerpaints, I COULD NOT AGREE MORE!  Everything you said is true and right.  It is very hard because a lot of people seem to expect too much for too little and eBay seems to support that.

It is completely wrong that you were hung up on by eBay, too.

There was just one, as everyone else has said, and she is (as far as I remember) now residing in Germany (?) with an oldbie collector.  I only know this because I was "runner up" for bidding on her when JLM had auctioned her off here.

*Sniff*  Wish I had won. *sigh* LOL!

Shelti is dead-on.  You won't be protected.  If the item is worth more than $10, then I would politely ask the buyer to maybe resend the payment with the correct address.  If not, then it is up to you whether or not you wish to risk it.

It can be sketchy for buyers, too, and you never know a person's reason for wishing to hide.  It might be that the buyer doesn't want anyone else to know about their obsession with MLP (or whatever he/she is buying), and not having a last name on the package gives him or her an "out" in case someone else picks the parcel up.

Ultimately, I would go by the price of the item, and if you are comfortable losing that amount of money, then go ahead.

I *seriously* hope Hasbro is testing the waters to see if adding a LOT more new ponies to the line will work out.  I love the G4s, and I would be sad to see them tank it like with the G3.5s...

Nurseglory is a nice seller, it's been a long time since I have purchased from her though.

I highly recommend e-believe and paradise auctions, I have purchased from both in the last year or so, and they are fantastic!

Thank you!  That's so sweet!  I try.

I hope I am too!  And my prices are being majorly updated ;)  But I am also happy to work with buyers on here!

MIB and loose seem to sell for about the same, but fluctuate with popularity.  I am guessing collectors are probably running out of room.  As for price, I would say between $5 and $10 loose (again depending on popularity).  The flea market might be fun, but I don't think you would get more than $5 each there.  Here would probably be more on track with the $5 - 10 range.

The other thing with auctions like this one to keep in mind for the future, is that generally, when you get such an awesome price on something like this, it is directly because the seller does not know what they have.  Therefore, they will not pay a lot of attention to how it is packed.  Next time, you can message the seller before paying to let him or her know how you wish to have it packed.

I think it is also very important for all collectors to start being fully aware of actual shipping costs (both within their country, and in general about International packages), so they can know how much something costs.  In this case, I would have seen the $6.99 shipping and known the seller would end up losing money, so there is naturally going to be less care put into packing to simply offset costs.

Pony Corral / Anyone Else Hoping the Fair Exclusive Will Be a G4 Pony?
« on: January 29, 2012, 11:06:24 AM »
I have lots of love for my G3s, no doubt, but I was hoping this year that maybe the Fair Exclusive will be a G4...

Anyone else hoping for the same?
