^ I agree with this so much. People who "diet" drive me crazy because not only is it damaging, as soon as you lose the weight and "switch" back to your regular diet you put it all back on and then some!
Make healthy choices and make them to change your lifestyle, not as a quick fix. I've just started cutting out dairy and wheat because it aggravates my IBS, but it took a long time to make the change and understand that it is a lifetime choice, not just for a few months or a year.

Does anyone actively collect squinkies? I have a few I don't want and there's a lot I'd like  can post pics if there's any interest.

But in school I worked with a domestic violence center, and we learned that confronting the abuser (for spousal or child abuse) is not a good idea.  The abuser can attack you- also once you are gone or behind closed doors he might take it out on the kid (or wife).http://voices.yahoo.com/what-if-witness-suspect-domestic-violence-6993750.html

What I was going to say
Imagine if you said something and the parent just went home and ~punished~ the child for it? People like that don't think rationally, it wouldn't make them feel guilty they'd just blame the child.
I'd get a good description and ring the police.

I'm torn between Jasmine and Ariel. I always used to hope I'd look like them when I grew up, but sadly I'm a million miles away from looking remotely like either!

Off Topic / Moving to Australia from the UK- anyone done this?
« on: November 25, 2013, 01:29:50 AM »
My bf and I are renting at the moment but in January will be looking to get a mortgage. However we're also considering the possibility of heading over to Australia, maybe for a year at first but with the potential to stay permanently. We have checked and we do both qualify for skilled worker visas (I'm a teaching assistant/nursery worker and he works in IT).
I just wondered if anyone had done this before and had any tips or advice? We are making a list of everything to consider/research etc. and if we did choose to give it ago it wouldn't be until Summer 2014 at the earliest. But it's good to start planning :)
Thanks in advance!

Off Topic / Re: Baby names
« on: November 25, 2013, 01:21:41 AM »
we have names picked but i don't like sharing them. partly because i don't want anyone i know using them before we have children and partly because i worry that i will jinx having a baby, haha.

buuut working in childcare you really see how badly names trend and lose popularity! if you want something unusual i'd advise not going with anything that seems to have just ~appeared on the scene~ names like archie, evie, edie and florence seem to have exploded in popularity at the moment!

to be fair £25 is a pretty good price for a river island jumper!
