Pony Corral / Re: About piggy pony eyelashes.
« on: August 05, 2021, 04:25:52 AM »

I'm bumping this because i'm also interested in the answer! I think I might experiment with false lashes anyway, but would be interesting to know if others have experience and could recommend a brand even!

I absolutely adore her! What a good job you did! I've never been hunting for customs, but I agree with Lindy above, if you made this for sale I would 100% be first in line for one!

Awesome! I had seen the etsy shop but hadn't put two and two together that it was you.
I'll definately make an order for some new wings. They look so nice, maybe the best thing to do for MoonJumper is to give her entirely new ones.
Thanks!

Pony Corral / Fixing Windy / Summer Wings
« on: August 03, 2021, 12:29:21 AM »
I recently picked up a Moonjumper with both original wings - but one has snapped off at the base, and a Glow missing both her wings.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips regarding trying to reattach the wing? I'm guessing a thin line of super glue probably would do the job, so maybe celotape to support?

For Glow; does anyone know of anyone in the EU or UK making replacement wings at the moment?

I want to get these ladies looking lovely again!
Thanks in advance for any help.

Pony Corral / Re: G1 Price Check?
« on: August 02, 2021, 11:05:43 AM »
I think Dancing Butterflies eyeshadow is one, and I will suspect that Sweet Stuff has regrind as I have yet to meet one who doesn't.

I read this and thought 'huh, I don't think my Sweet Stuff has regrind', just checked - MASSIVE regrind all over. Had completely not noticed.

Also, agree with above except maybe Cuddles, who i've been seeing go for about 20eur (23USd?). I keep missing her for a better price!

What a cute idea! I love what you’ve done with her hair as well!

Welcome to the Arena!

What helps with the pony stank (lol) is baking soda! Wash them well with Dawn dish soap, scrubbing with an old toothbrush, and comb out their manes/tails with shampoo/conditioner (I used Garnier for a while, I love the scent of that, mixed in with some Gain for good measure). Once they are fully air dried, put them in a Ziploc with baking soda--I tend to eyeball measurements, so maybe a teaspoon to a tablespoon depending on how much stank you are dealing with. Set them in the sunlight if you can, or keep them in the bags for at least a week. Take them out after that and I hope the smell is gone. I got a stanky Tex and had to do that to the poor guy, but he no longer reeks of cigarettes! :3

Totally going to try this baking soda idea!

I know guys! It's a real bummer  :(

And Taffeta, I completely agree. The VAT was charged when the item was new, so it's essentially getting double VAT.

I'm really lucky that I have two addresses to send ponies to! one in the UK (where I'm originally from) with my parents, and one in Belgium where I live, so I can avoid the Brexit fees. I had to learn that the hard way too with a 50EUR import charge on a bolt of fabric I bought for 70GBP

Just a little warning for buyers in the EU and sellers outside that I had a bit of a nasty shock with the VAT exemption that was cancelled as of 1st July.

https://finance.belgium.be/en/customs_excises/private-individuals/sending-and-receiving-parcels/new-vat-rules-e-commerce#q3

I bought a Tik Tac Toe in need of some love for about 12EUR and just had to pay 21EUR to get her out of customs quarantine

With ebay fees and postage, in all I paid about 50eur for a pony with a hair cut and pen marks  >_< My own fault really for not doing the math and getting excited about a pony on my wish list!

US based sellers may want to see if they can sign up for the EUs one stop shop for VAT to make selling easier.

Now off to give my new pony a bath......  :rainbow:

Ah, she's the darker body bow tie.

Good news about ButterMint. I think it's a price both me and the seller were happy with in the end, so I don't think anyone feels ripped off :-)

56
You are such a fountain of knowledge PKW! Thank so much!

I don’t have anything to compare bow tie to, but I suspect light body. In any case she has some bad damage that I’ll need to repair, and she’s staying in my collection, but I was curious anyway!

If I may sneak in another, I just bought an Italian ‘Buttermint’ minty with the yellow body and white hair for €50, and I’m wondering if I paid about the right price. I couldn’t find anything to compare it to, and in the end I was happy enough with the price to buy her (she’s so pretty!).

I have just received a box where I bought a whole collection and it had a couple of v pleasant surprises inside! I had a look to see if I could find some recent PCs on these, and could only find a recent sale of a Snuzzledrop. I'm not sure if I'll be selling (apart from Snuzzledrop, who's now a double), so it's more curiosity than anything!
Thanks!

Macau Snuzzledrop
Macau Peachy
Italian Bubbles
Italian grey (Blossom colours?) variant of of Butterscotch
French Bowtie with white hair and pink bows
French Cotton candy (white hair)
Spain Cherries Jubilee (with 'Spain' stamped on hoof, so not NC).

Of all of them, i'm most curious about Spanish Cherries Jubilee. I had a little google and I couldn't find out much about her. She's got beautiful pale pink hair and is the best condition of everyone in the box. I'm so in love  :lovey:

I have sent you a PM :-)

Thanks Spinky - I've edited my original post to take down the name. I'm really happy to hear that she's a long term member and that you've had a good experience. It puts my mind at ease a bit.

I haven't had an experience with her through eCrater but have dealt with her often over the years of collecting and never had an issue with her :)

Ok, That's already good news. (and thanks for the reply!) Do you know if she's just slow to reply? It's been two weeks since our last interaction  :lookround:
