Pony Corral / Re: share your stories!

I have two! The first one isn't super exciting, more sentimental. My dad has always been my collecting buddy so he finds ponies for me occasionally. On my 12th birthday I came downstairs and there was the dream castle carrying case PACKED with ponies and accessories on the table he found for me at a local flea market! I remember being so mad he had gone without me but it's a good thing he did! None of the ponies were really rare but they were the first pony gift I ever got. Since then he's given me Diamond Dreams and TAF Buttons too :)

This one is more impressive haha. I have some friends I've made at my nearby goodwill outlet who are all professional eBay sellers. One woman in particular always gave me the ponies she thought were too ratty to sell. Her standards were super high though so I pretty much got all of them. One day she gave me a small bag of ponies containing Tex, pearly Baby Firefly and.....MIMIC! I was shocked! Definitely one of my top pony gifts!

That is simply amazing! I have to try this. I have a Trickles that's seriously spotty. I wonder how glitter symbols or colored plastic would react to this, if at all.

Thats so exciting! I know dream valley is a good source that a lot of people use for general information. As far as Nirvana ponies go maybe you could interview some pony experts rather than just using the forum? The Spotlights on specific countries usually have links to popular websites for foreign ponies too. For US ponies you could try using collector guides like the ones by Summer Hayes for info on specific sets. It's tough to find sources that fit academic standards when it comes to ponies so you might have to get creative! Good luck!

I love goodwil outlets! It seems like there's always something pony related at them. Congrats on your finds!

I've had some luck using toothpaste on stubborn stains in the past. I had a scrumptious with a giant chocolate stain on her but some toothpaste and cold water faded it pretty nicely. Good luck! She seems to be in very nice shape otherwise!

I just got forsythia the other day and her hair is a very strange shade of green! Looks like strawberry reef's blind bag page has her with green hair too. I wish it was yellow like in the picture, it's so much more complimentary

I just wanted to let everyone know that baby beach ball arrived today! She's actually in very nice condition too. Looks like she was just lazy, but I'd still be cautious.

That's a good point lovesbabysquirmy. She marked the pony as shipped so I think I'll wait a bit before I open a claim, but I'll defiantly open a case if she takes more than a week to arrive.

ETA: Do you think I should email her, just to kind of voice my concerns? Is that a stupid idea? I've never had to deal with something like this before so I'm panicking just a little

Pony Corral / Re: Is this a problem with Sunbeam?

I think this set in general has problems with glitter loss since it's the first set with glitter. Sunbeam seems to be affected worse than others though. It's a shame, she's such a pretty pony!

I love dream beauties! Their paint is very fragile though, as everyone has said. Definitely avoid anything harsh especially acetone! I know acetone started to "melt" the plastic on my My Pretty Pony and she's pretty much the same type of plastic as them.

Oh no! I bought baby beach ball from her this afternoon! I had kind of a nagging feeling about it what with them having no feedback and a brand new store. I should have listened to myself, especially on such an impulse buy! I checked her store again and all her pics seem consistent to me as far as the background goes, but I didn't see the earlier ones. I'm praying she was just too lazy to take her own pics.

Pony Corral / Re: How Do You Organize Your Ponies?
« on: December 01, 2012, 09:46:11 AM »
When my ponies were on display I had them organized by year and by set. Some of my favorite completed sets, like princesses and big brothers, had their own shelves. Everything else was pony chaos! Now there in the in storage in our basement, but I can't wait to display them again!

The best part by far was making so many new friends, especially my PFF Munchy!

Woo! Pony Friends FOREVER! This was my favorite part of last years fair too. I've always wanted a pony friend so it was so amazing to finally meet such awesome people and it was definitely worth the wait!
