Thank you Ember1 and Clipper for sharing your knowledge; I have learnt a lot!

I would always be afraid a pony sold as prototype is a custom; especially if the hair looks too shiny compared to the hair used in the 80s and the body color is one that's easy to obtain. And with all the talented customizers out there today, she would be easy to fake. The factory weave is perhaps the only way to know for sure

She is my first FBR and I am still experimenting. The paint is a little sticky - not sure my sealer is good. Some say the stickyness goes away after a while so I am waiting to see if that happens. I use an airbrush/compressor and many thin layers, that's the key to an even repaint

The pindot was still a little visible before the sealer - but after, it was not visible.

Next time I will sand it down to a smooth surface before painting, might also help is stick better.

Ooh nice job! I almost didn't notice the FBR and thought she was just an alt. re-hair

So then, are you going to give away your secrets to doing a good FBR p.s. did she have cnacer/plastic breakdown at all and how is the paint holding up?

On regular ponies, I think it's okay

for example, it's near impossible to sell a Posey with faded hair, even for 1£, and if she can become a custom that will be cherished in a collection rather than an unwanted, unsold double - that's way better IMO. Even if the only issue was fading hair, otherwise perfect condition.

Personally, I bait G1s if they have haircuts AND permanent marks - if they are common. Like baby Moondancer, Glory, Sparkler, Lily.
I recently customized a very bait Sparkler - Pindot, hair and tailcut, permanent marks. The result is, despite me not being a superb customizer, a pony I very much want in my collection and to me, that makes much more sense than trying to restore her

I am curious to hear what other wants you have that you think is too big for 2017!

If you can use any of my pics from my website, feel free to do so. I don't think I have anything out of the ordinary except maybe my unfinished AJ from Venezuela. And she might already be in the gallery!
I hope you are able to fill up the gallery. The Arena Gallery is the root of all my pony wants

I have been so, so lucky to get a lot of nirvanas in 2016 - but the collector in me already have goals/wishes for 2017!

And I would love to hear what you are hoping next year will bring

Personally, I am hoping to get Argie baby Applejack. I have wanted her for a long time and hope I will find her in 2017! I also want Argie baby Sparkler..

These seem to me like some of the harder to find Argie babies.
