Pony Corral / Re: My collection on display for the public
« on: November 30, 2016, 02:10:22 PM »
Thanks guys, I really wanted an opportunity to do this and when this place opened at the start of the year I just asked them. I can't wait for them to open and see what people think.

If they weren't behind glass then I don't think I would have done it, like some of you said I'd be way too scared. But the couple that run it understands about collecting as everything in there apart from my collection is theirs.

As for all the ponies, there are around 250 and 99% of them were washed and styled before going on display, they had to look their best. :) now that was a mission and a half to do.

Don't really know what to call it, it's a cross between a museum and a gallery. They have all sorts of toys on display from Sylvanian families, barbies, old mercado sets to Star Wars toys. They opened at the beginning of the year and only now have reached the amount they needed to expand and have a space for loan displays. My collection will be up until they get sick of it and my own display space is set up again.

Pony Corral / My collection on display for the public

One of my pony dreams has come true! From this Saturday people in Christchurch, New Zealand can see all of my ponies and playsets on display at The Toy Collector. I wish I had been given more room because I wanted to display all of the accessories and miscellaneous merchandise I had as well but I only managed to fit in playsets and ponies. For those of you that can't go see it in person here are some photos I took while setting up.

Pony Corral / Re: Accessory ID - Please Help

You can use the Way back Machine https://archive.org/web/ to look at older versions of the site. I've been using it recently to go through all my accessories.

http://www.greatponies.com is THE best accessory ID site out there!! BUt I can tell you the shoes belong to the Megan dolls, I know that the pearly one belongs to TAF Megan, the pink belong to original Megan and the magenta belongs to SS Megan. The pink towel belongs to the scrub a dub tub, the plastic straw beside it looks like it might have come from a sundae for the Sundae best pones (Chocolate Delight and Strawberry Scoops), the aqua rollers belong to the rock a by bed and the purple can belong to sweet dreams pony wear, the waterfall playset (and maybe a few others), the gold string could be a flutter pony ribbon, can't tell for sure, the pink mesh are also ribbons, belonging to the fancy pants baby ponies (but I'm not 100% sure), the skirt looks like something from a pony wear set but I can't remember off the top of my head, the party hats and plates belong to the party gift pack, the yellow/red dress belongs to Milk and Cookies pony wear, the yellow shoe can belong to numerous pony wear sets, and the pink bottle I think belongs to a newborn/twin set. The barretts and clips could belong in a pretty up pack but I'm not so familiar with them and the yellow elastic COULD belong to a baby rattle

Off Topic / Re: New Zealand earthquake thread [merged]

I really wish Mother Nature would just stay quiet for a while. I'm sick of these things, we've had too many and I hate the sinking feeling I get when a big one happens. The city is STILL recovering after our 2011 quake and it's nearly 6 years on.

Thanks! I live 10min outside of Christchurch and have lived through all the previous earthquakes but not many have felt like this. The shaking went on for a good 2 minutes! My office is closed until inspection so I plan on cleaning my ponies after a bit more sleep.

Pony Corral / G1 baby pony, Megan and Molly ribbons
« on: October 10, 2016, 01:31:04 PM »
Hey guys, I have finally gotten around to sorting out my big pile of ribbons and came up with a few questions. It's not how to tell the difference, I know that but it's about ribbons belonging to the baby ponies, Megan/s and Molly.

Do baby ponies get the same sized ribbons as adults? I have some in my collection that feel like authentic mlp ribbons but are narrower than the others.

Ribbons belonging to Megan and Molly, are they wider than normal ribbons and they have their pink ones while Sundance has a blue one? I have a few bits of info that I have no idea where it came from that says ribbons for Megan and Molly were wider, maybe almost like BnG ribbons? Is this fact or something I made up in my head?

She's one of my original childhood ponies and the one I have most vivid memories of. I remember her as a boy and I once drew blue chalk on her right front leg, which is still there today because of her flocking! Because of this I thought he looked a bit ugly so I stole a prettier one off a friend, which I also still have.

Pony Corral / Re: How do you keep count of your herd?
« on: September 26, 2016, 03:06:08 PM »
I realised going through my want list that I hadn't updated it for ages which led me to look and my inventory book for an updated list. I also decided to do a count and I have exactly 250 ponies plus all Megans and Molly.

Hi guys, loving all the cute dollies you've been posting. I'm trying to find a buyer for my Mytyl (Volks) but I'm not having much luck, any of you know of someone that really wants her? I already have her listed on eBay and various bjd sale sites on Facebook and I don't have the necessary requirements for Den of Angels.

Brand new, just won in the Volks lottery draw. I'm unable to now afford her so I'm hoping someone wants to buy her off me. She costs USD$1389.99 including shipping to you.
