Customs / Re: Pony modification questions - mostly acetone related
« on: June 15, 2014, 05:40:55 PM »
Yes wear gloves!!! You'll need chemically resistant gloves---they are thicker than regular latex gloves. Water Rags are good :) You could also be OK with a mask just in case. (safety first!) Lots of cotton balls. A glass cup to pour acetone in.

Heat up a LOOONG needle or piece of wire (use pliers to hold it) with a lighter and quickly place it through the area you want to pierce.

I go with Createx too, it's already pre thinned so it doesn't make you want to not thin it down like you should with regular acrylics. The pigment load is great.

For pearl I use Martha Stuart Champagne.

I airbrush all of mine now, but would have no problem going back and forth with sponging or airbrush.

I love her, I really would love to sit and watch you sculpt for days. I wish I could make my hair look like that.

You can also try squishing fabri-tac into the gap and letting it cure for 24-48 hours. I have used it with monster high doll splits with success.

UV cut has UV ray inhibitors so it stops any yellowing from the sun. It's an extra "insurance" if you will. I love the flat. And the 1 can had lasted me FOREVER (I mean at least 7 customs and 2 monster high dolls and still going). I think it's 100% worth the money.

Like most sprays, quick light even coats. if you bulk up the coats it bubbles. If you wipe it off quick enough with a makeup sponge you can save it and spraying over it will help even it out.

Are you talking about actual horse tack and pads?

I'd be up for giving it a whirl, I've painted many leather jackets in my day.

Customs / "Flitter Mist" G4 Pegasus w/ metallic butterflies :)
« on: April 17, 2014, 11:06:07 AM »
Welcome "Flitter Mist"

She was created to mimic the feeling of the sunny meadow after the rains have come sweeping by. She still has some cloudy touches to her points, like the sun breaking through to dry the earth. It is my favorite time of day to watch the butterflies play on my meadow next to our house.

Hair is Nylon from DollyHair in Sea Nymph and streaks of Kitten. She also has high temperature streaks of Artic Pink tinsel through out. Her hair has been boil permed and her style is permanent (even the tinsel!)

Body was a Fluttershy airbrushed with high quality artists acrylic paints and sealed with both Matte and Gloss UV cut sealant.

Eyes and symbol are painted with metallic light refracting acrylic paint and finished with pitt pens. They change color when the light hits them.

Thank you for looking!!!

She is for sale HERE:
