Pony Corral / Re: 'Old' collectors: how have things changed?
« on: June 07, 2016, 12:01:21 PM »
I am hardly an "Old timer", since I am only 24, but I have been collecting for many years and discovered the community about 8 or 9 years ago. What I remember most vividly was all of the artists! Of course there are still artists now, however about 10 years ago there were SO MANY and so much beautiful artwork to oogle in the art section as well as dA!

I also remember when G2's came out and the first time I saw them in stores, but I was of course too young to even know a pony community existed. I LOVED them for the simple fact they were MLP. I of course had them, and would play with them alongside my garage sale G1s :P

I was also probably annoying at the time. lol :silly:

We have played Trivia a lot, as well as the corn hole Fox mentioned. She also brought a pin the tail on the pony game! I also did a balloon pop game with prizes in each balloon one year, but I hardly consider it a game since everyone just took turns popping balloons. lol  And brightglowpony has brought Guess the Number of Ponies in the Jar game of varying sizes as well throughout the years.

I would so love to do some kind of scavenger hunt! I think that would be so entertaining watching everyone run around

Ringwraith, I am so sorry for my late response! I think I have found lineart for each generation! Aside from G2, of course. Haha If you could print them out, that would be amaaaazing! Once I have a free moment, maybe I can email the images to you? Maybe just 5 copies of each needed? I don't know how many people will participate so I don't want to have you print a ton! Haha

Fox, allo of those badges are looking beyond amazing! :frolic:

Did anyone have any other activity ideas in mind??

I just found a bunch online, so I think we are good! I must have not been typing in the right search words. Let me know if you find any G1 lineart as well :)

They are all so fantastic! :lovey: You seriously are so talented! I cannot wait to see them in person!

I am trying to find some good lineart to use for the mascot contest- no luck so far! :<

Oh no!! No good lineart can be a bummer, Let me see what I might have around.
I know!
I would totally just make one, but I don't have access to any art programs anymore :( I had them on my old laptop a long time ago, and for some reason could not get CS2 to download on my new one  tough times! Haha
I could scan some coloring books and remove the symbols/cutie marks! I only have G3 and G4 coloring books, but I'm sure we could find some G1 coloring book scans somewhere...

Oh that would be perfect! I don't think it matters too much what generation it is :) As long as we have something basic enough where people have enough room to draw their ideas!

Actually, I think I just hit the jackpot!! I found a bunch of G3 lineart that I think would work perfectly :)

Woah, Peter Pan is really cool! *high gives because both our ceremonies will be based on popular children's stories made into Disney movies* I love the idea of Neverland tables, I would want to sit in the Mermaid Lagoon table if there is one xD

*high fives back* xD Oh yes there is! And it's one of my favorite tables :) I wanted to share a picture of it, but Photobucket is not cooperating today! And your dress is absolutely stunning! I cannot imagine how amazing getting married at Disney is going to be :lovey: What a dream!

SnorkMaiden, thank you so much! :heart:It sounds like your friend's wedding was so fun! That is such a fun theme. I love weddings that are super creative and out of the box!

AFlame, Oh a pony wedding! You will most definitely have to share pictures! And buying a house is such a great decision! My fiance and I postponed our engagement to do just that and it was the best decision ever!

Oh everyone's weddings sound like they will be so lovely! I also love reading about weddings, although I was never the kind to daydream about my wedding :silly:

I am actually getting married in 12 days! It feels a bit unreal and I am so so excited. The planning process has been a pain but I know it will all be worth it. We are getting married at a very nice venue underneath a pretty garden terrace. It will also be loosely Peter Pan themed with each table at the reception being a different place within Neverland. The centerpieces are so magical and my mom and I put in and lot of time and effort! We will also be having a "first look" and will be exchanging a thimble and acorn, as Peter and Wendy do in the book. I have been in love with Peter Pan and the story my entire life so it's only fitting that I used it as a theme for my fiance and I's wedding! May 7 hurry up already! :frolic:

I'm so excited that we will be coming this year! It will be a long drive, but it's been like what two years I've attempted and haven't yet? Lol the talk of snakes makes me think of how amusing it would be to bring Nevada decked out in her unicorn wear. The biggest "MLP" of them all. :P

You will by far be winning the Farthest Travel award! :silly: Oh how I wish I could meet your sweet baby so badly! She looks so precious :)

I have already received a couple RSVP's and have begun updating everything in the OP :) Let me know if have any fun ideas! The raffle prize table already seems like it's going to have some amazing stuff again this year!
