Pony Corral / Columbus Toy Show- March 20th
« on: March 12, 2022, 04:30:50 PM »
Hey, guys! The Columbus Toy Show is coming up and I'll have three tables of vintage toys, including hundreds of ponies from all generations! It's in Columbus, Ohio on March 20th at the Ohio State Fairgrounds, Lausche Building.

Pic is of my table from fall 2021 show and I'll have yet ANOTHER table of stuff.

I woke up to a couple inches! It was a total surprise as yesterday was sunny and warm when the day started. And tomorrow is supposed to be in the 50s, so I'm sure it'll be gone again fast!

Pony Corral / Re: Anyone else think that G1 ponies look a bit sad?
« on: March 12, 2022, 04:23:10 PM »
Nah, not sad! They're just thinking far off thoughts, not really in this world. I think they're adorable and wouldn't change them for anything :D Also, I love the much more "horse" like design to them than current generations.

None. The vast majority of my collection is down to my childhood ponies and someone's gonna have to pry those out of my cold, dead hands or bury them with me!

Off Topic / Re: Do you take vacations or day trips?
« on: March 12, 2022, 04:18:37 PM »
Maaaaan, I ca NOT wait to travel again! I miss the long drives, changing scenery, and freedom of no responsibilities or expectations. I haven't had a solid road trip since 2019, when I drove from Columbus (Trotcon) to Orlando (Pony Fair) to Baltimore (BronyCon) on consecutive weekends. I had so much fun stopping at tourist traps, swimming in Devil's Hole (prehistoric sinkhole that's 80' deep), and eating at places I've never seen before. The drives out west... I love driving over the Great Salt Flats on the night of a full moon. The ground absolutely glows this ethereal blue and is soooooo distracting. And, in the morning, as you enter Nevada, you can see fog rising from the ground and the sunrise reflecting red off the mountains.

I do day trips all the time. Went to Dayton a few weeks ago to hit up some vintage toy shops and thrift shops. I'm planning on going up to Mansfield this summer to track down more info about a woman whose painting I bought at the thrift shop. Maybe, if I get the job I hope I do, I'll do an overnight into Kentucky and go paddle boarding in a cave!

Is anyone looking for a roommate? I'd be happy to help split the cost of a room! I'm a very neat, clean person with a TON of travel experience and I don't snore.

I got my runner's bib in the mail last week! I'm up to 30 miles. It doesn't sound like a lot, but I'm really proud of that considering how awful the weather's been and how icy/muddy/flooded the trails have been.

I've applied for a new job that is 5.2 miles from my house if I take the local Greenway bike trail. Looks like I might become a biker if I get that job! And at 10 miles a day, I'd be gaining mileage fast and finish that challenge much sooner than anticipated.

I just added all of my currently available Puppy/Pony/Kitty Surprise! All are in very good shape. Located in the US and I typically ship within 48 hours of payment receipt. If you aren't comfortable buying off the website, please feel free to send me a DM and I'm happy to work out a sale here on the Arena.

I haven't received my running bib yet. But, I'm also sure things weren't supposed tos tart shipping until March.

200 miles ALREADY?! DANG! I'm up to 25 now. Snow and rain and ice here have been making long excursions unsafe. I'm hoping I can get out on the trails more when the weather gets nicer.

YES! I'm in LOVE with them! The head sculpts are so well done. I haven't liked any of the G5 stuff well enough to bu it, but I immediately bought these cuties!

Pony Corral / Re: G3 Twirlerina's hair disintigrating - anyone else?

Whelp, toss first release Blossomforth on the list. I was getting her all cleaned up to give to a friend and a chunk of hair came out when I tried combing it. I was able to rip out the rest of her mane with one good tug. She's in the bat box now because she has some chew marks to her nose too.

Those are so adorable! You've got a great talent for showing a personality in each character.

Pony Corral / Re: Fakie? Custom? Or real G3?
« on: February 21, 2022, 05:09:06 PM »
They way the mouth is molded isn't detailed enough and it doesn't look like there's a magnet or the plastic cover in either of the front feet. Plus, the single colored mane doesn't have tinsel and I can't think of any single colored mane G3s without tinsel. My money's on a fakie.

Pony Corral / Re: G1's spotted at local Comic-con :)

Mostly this makes me angry....   Ahhhhh so we go from toy dealers saying dismissively and rudely, "no, those are just GIRL TOYS, we don't have those pony things *obnoxious laugh*" , to "That's worth $50!  Give me money!"  >.<

Believe me, I've run into that FAR more than I care to admit! And now those dealers won't even listen to reason that a tail-less Peachy is NOT worth $20 just because she's old. Hell, even my local thrift shop has started charging outrageous prices for ponies. I only paid $12 for Dainty Dahlia beause she's worth more than that. But, still, that's not thrift shop pricing!

Edit to add: The Columbus Toy Show is March 20th and I'll be taking a TON of ponies to sell there!

What an amazing find! Congrats! I hope I get so lucky one of these days. Harder, considering I'm in the US, but not impossible!
