Trader & Shipping Support / Re: How do you put this seller is away
« on: July 12, 2017, 08:46:16 AM »
Yes, you can only add "seller is away" if you have an eBay store.

If you are only going out of town for a short time, you can use the bulk edit tool to adjust the handling time on your listings. For example, if you have the handling time set to "next day shipping", but you will be out of town for 3 days, you can choose a longer handling time rather than end your listings. If something does sell while you are away, just send your buyer a polite message that says something like "thank you for your purchase! I am currently out of town, but will ship your item as soon as I return home on Tuesday."

If you are going away for more than a couple days, it would probably be best to end your listings & relist after your trip. :bigups:

I have 2 yellow diapers for the 2 Snoozy variations I paid around $15-20 for each one. Out of the 3 babies in that set, Snoozy is in the middle rarity-wise with Cuddles (green diaper) being the most common & Bouncy (pink diaper) being the most hard to find.

The one tricky thing with these diapers is that Hasbro made a very similar diaper in the same fabric sold with their Drink & Wet Puppy Surprise in the early-mid 90's, as well. I was mistakenly sold a diaper from that set labeled as one of the Surprise Newborn diapers. Surprise Newborn Pony diapers have stitched sides (hip area) & velcro at the tail. Puppy Surprise diapers have velcro on each side/hip, and no tail hole.

Pony Corral / Re: Thoughts on a replica Adventure Card set??

I think the repros look fantastic so far! I wouldn't mind the watermark/new info being darker or larger if necessary.

Come to think of it I actually have never seen the game board or all the cards.
Did this ever have an original box?

The game board & die were only available as a mail order with Baby Blue Ribbon. The cards were only available as individually packaged bonus items with specially marked ponies for a limited time. That's why the set is super hard to complete & a full repro card set is so desirable. ;)

I have a strong feeling the game also came as a pull out in a UK pony comic or something of that nature as I am ninety percent sure I have it from childhood, but I don't remember if the cards ever happened as well or if they didn't :/ the pony certainly didn't. Very odd.

Back to the original issue - If people are happy buying replicas that is generally their decision. So long as those replicas are clearly marked as replicas in a way that can't be mistaken for the original or resold by a nefarious person as the original, it's then a free choice situation really. I would support making the replica print text darker so it stands out more even if someone put it as a blurry auction image. The idea of giving them extra borders to make them stand out is also good because I imagine most people who would want this want it to play the game. If they were serious about actual exact cards, they'd probably go after the originals, so minor differences to make them stand out might be good to consider...

I think I've seen Adventure Cards that are different than the US set which I assume would have been a UK set. From memory they were not full color... possibly only shades of blue ink? I really don't know anything about how they were distributed or how they may or may not match up the the US versions, but I'm sure I've seen pictures of them online over the years. :)

Pony Corral / Re: Prom queen tutus ?

I have 4 loose Prom Queens that were de-boxed by an adult collector plus Sweet Sundrop Mint In an opened Box (someone removed the perfume :shakes fist: )...

Sweet Sundrop definitely has the darker pink tutu & Cha Cha has the paler peach-pink tutu. :bigups:

Event exclusive pony pins & keychains. Prices as shown in the photos. I have multiples of each available. ;)

PayPal only. No holds. No trades. No discounts for quantity.

Shipping:
US - First class starts at $3.50. These are very light weight so quite a few can ship for this price.

Canada - First class envelope rate (under 1/2 inch thickness) starts at $4.00 for up to 8 oz.

International - If you have a friend or shipping service in the US, I'm happy to ship to their address.
Priority shipping is very pricey starting in the neighborhood of $35 for a flat rate envelope. First class is available, but there is no guaranteed tracking available. If you request first class international shipping it is understood that it is 100% at your own risk if the package is lost or damaged. I generally do not offer first class international, but will make an exception if you agree to accept full financial responsibility for a lost or damaged package. Any customs or import fees are the buyers' responsibility.

I'm looking for a few Fairy Tails birds with their accessories pictured below. I always prefer to buy a complete set (or at the least a bird with stand), but I would be happy to buy UK/Euro fuzzies without accessories since they are harder to find. ;)

I'm also looking for most of the mesh bows that came with the original 12 birds (in light pink, yellow, blue, & lavender), and Tattle Tails' magenta comb.

Since Photobucket is no longer working, I'm giving imgur a try.

I successfully sold a pony to him once before I realized he was underage. He claimed a pony, and sent me his dad's PayPal info. I sent an invoice & it was paid with a note that was something along the lines of "thanks, my son will love it". Since then he has posted on some of my sale items hinting that he would like to have it or asking for a trade. I've ignored the random hints or replied that I'm not trading at this time.

I'm not sure how many others he may have dropped these hints to... but I can see where it's possible that he's taking advantage of people's kindness.

Also since his dad clearly paid for the pony he got from me, the parents are aware of his gaining ponies via Instagram on some level. I don't know how he's explaining getting trades if he's not sending trade items out... or maybe he says they are gifts??

The makeup was a limited time bonus packaged with certain US ponies. If they included makeup there would be a sticker added to the box or card, but the make up item would not be added to the text portion that usually says something like "includes comb, ribbon, barrette..." - if that makes sense?

The US Brush N Grow Princesses exist in boxes both with & without makeup. If makeup was included it would have been nail polish only. From memory the following sets had the following promotional makeup types in the US:

Lipstick
Sparkle Ponies
Candy Cane Ponies

Eye Shadow
Perfume Puff Ponies

Nail Polish
Princess BNG

...another set may have had eyeshadow as well, but these are sets I personally had as a child with makeup.

I'd like to add, if anyone has a pic of Lemon Treats with lipstick MIB, I'd love to see it. I'm fairly certain my childhood one came with a non-standard ribbon color & I'm wondering if that matches up with the makeup promo. :P

Maybe try pm-ing a site Admin? It looks like Loa & SourdoughStomper are online at the moment.

If you look at the "who's online" tab on the left, admin names are highlighted in a different color. ;)

I'm kind of surprised at the number of users that don't seem to understand how eBay's system bids for you. I've seen this happen both on things I've sold & things I'm bidding on. Most recently I was bidding on a item for my son's birthday that started at $0.99. I put in a bid around $16 with plans to come back & bid higher if necessary. A few days later I got an outbid notice & see that one person has made multiple bids in $1 increments until they out bid me. Fast forward to the end of the auction. I put in a higher bid with about 10 minutes to go as it was around dinner time & I was afraid I'd miss it. The same person bid in $1 increments until they had beat me. Since I was on to their bidding method, I waited until there were 5 seconds left, increased my bid by $3 and won. :P The other bidder's unfamiliarity with the system exposed their bid strategy & allowed me to know exactly how to outbid them. My only regret is putting in that bid around the 10 minute mark, as I could have saved myself a few extra dollars if I waited.  :lookround:

And yes, I know I could have used a sniping service, but I'm another one of those old school eBayers that prefers to bid manually.

Message the seller and let them know what happened.

What I would recommend is having the seller refund your money, you change your PayPal address to the correct one, and then repay the seller.

The seller is not protected unless they send to the address that is on the payment, so they likely will refuse to send unless you repay.  (I don't think the address will be updated on Payment #1, even if you update your info with PayPal.  Which is why a new payment is necessary)

This. ^

Message the seller & explain what happened, then initiate cancelling the transaction. If the buyer requests to cancel, eBay refunds the seller's fees, and the seller doesn't end up paying for a buyer's error. Then the seller can relist & you can purchase & pay using the correct address.

Alternatively some sellers will agree to send to a different address, although by eBay's rules they are not required or advised to send to any address other than the one in the payment because they lose their seller protection.

I said this a little further up. But, like I pointed out in my post, the seller may be hit with double the fees because of the refund and the resend. So, you may have to call eBay just in case.
I explained the process to take so that the seller would not be hit with double fees. As you mentioned in your first post & again here, you were unsure if the seller would be hit with fees on both transactions. As long as the buyer initiates a cancellation, the seller will be refunded for the fees on that transaction. I have had many buyers cancel over the years, and fees were always refunded automatically.
