Oh wow, interesting that they didn't use original artwork for the back of the box on the Rainbows. I wonder why that is. It's a little disappointing.

These are so cool! Ugh I would adore this set. I might have to start getting into the HQG1C stuff. Pity they never made it to production back in the day though. Seeing G1s that were designed but never made into real toys is so bittersweet! Does anyone have a better photo of the artwork?

Yay I found one! Same as the one pictured. Has anyone found any of the other ones? I REALLY would love the one with Sweet Tooth/Sugarberry/Love Melody under a rainbow.
Also have these been spotted in other stores? I was thinking Marshalls, TJ Maxx, or Homegoods might carry them since they're all basically the same store; just haven't gotten to check any of them yet.

4x sets of the NEW ponies! I bought all 4 + an extra Confetti (wow, she looks more like a neon Confetti than the pastel 80s Wedding Bells version).
Tickle, Trickle and Flutterbye look very rich in colour, their glittery symbols really stand out! I couldn't leave them on the shelves!

Wow congrats! I wish Target would stock that many at a time! They seem to only put out one box and when someone buys the set that's it for however long it takes them to get another in/put out. :/ But I'm so glad these are being found outside of the US. I hope everyone gets a fair chance at these. And what is going on with the Unis/Pegs wave? I haven't seen them at any Target in months whereas the first 2 waves, plus unscented Rainbows are still hanging around in large quantities, and I've even had one sighting of the Earth ponies. Maybe they are just getting bought up quickly still, but I feel like I'd have seen at least one left behind somewhere if that were the case. The distribution of these ponies is wacky.

How random! Maybe I'm in the minority here but I dislike all the G1 merch with generic phrases on them like these. I guess they're just trying to appeal to more people but to me it's a bit tacky. I'll make an exception for "Choose snooze" though. That one's adorable.  And it's cool to see Milky Way on stuff.

Has anyone in Texas found the Wave 2 Rainbows yet? All the Targets in my area don't have them according to Brickseek.
I kinda wonder how reliable brickseek is. According to them one of the Targets in my area has the first wave of Rainbows in stock when, the last few times I've been there over the past 4 months at least, they haven't had any retro MLP at all. Not even a shelf for them, like they completely stopped selling them.

You're not wrong in saying that they look drastically different (well, to us pony people anyway lol). But, compare any other 2 generations (G1 to G2, G2 to G3, etc.) and G3 and G3.5 actually look relatively similar to each other. I think that's also an important point of the .5 label.
Anyway...what ARE we calling the newer mold G4s?

I think it's gotta be Dream Castle. When we first meet the Little Ponies in Firefly's Adventure/ Rescue at Midnight Castle, they all come out of Dream Castle. I might be a little biased as I think it was probably my favorite playset as a kid (though I loved Lullabye Nursery and the Sweet Shop too). But honestly everyone loves castles right?

I already have the originals of what has been released so far, but I'm still buying most of the remakes. I can't resist! The novelty of buying sparkling new G1s from the store (and opening some) is too much for me! I know they're not "real" but to me they're so close that it doesn't matter. They're beautiful!
There are a few I think I've decided to skip - so far that would be Starshine and Skydancer, because I've never cared much for them. I might also skip Firefly and Medley, though I do like them both. Particularly Firefly, since I've always thought her color was a weird, ugly shade of pinkish and the new one is a nice color. Might also skip Trickles and Confetti because they're also sort of meh to me, but I don't own either one of them so I won't hold it against myself if I cave and buy them when I see them in person lol.
There are a couple I have gotten 2 of so that I can open some and still have a nice MIB, but I don't plan to do that with all of them (mostly because of cost and space haha).

I used to use spreadsheets, one for each generation, but I fell behind and stopped keeping up with it a couple years ago. :/ I would recommend it though! I have a program on my computer and I would copy it over to a google docs spreadsheet just to have a backup.

They're appearing already?! They look lovely! I do wonder why the purple ones keep ending up so dark lol, but hey, not complaining!
