Pony Corral / Re: Weird hair on G4 brushables?
« on: September 07, 2013, 03:40:45 AM »
YES! All the new releases with "face ridges" have had absolute frizzy messes of water repellant tails.    I've been able to tame them with a straightener and conditioner; however, the hair goes wild again if brushed when dry.  I am getting really nervous about the decrease in quality.

Pony Corral / Re: To the doll collecters- instead of Equestria Girls

I am not a doll collector, but as soon as I saw the concept of Equestria Girls, my first thought was, "Why not Jem?"

I am really surprised Hasbro didn't go the Jem route a few years ago.  They could have easily piggy-backed off the the success of Hannah Montana.

Minty!!!  Hold up... Why you come with six ponies I already have?   Looks like a blatant "money grab" attempt to me.

Seriously, how hard would it have been to give Nightmare Moon blue hair and replace the "mane 6" and Dewdrop with brushable versions of blind bag characters?  The names are already trademarked.  I'll probably purchase Miss Minty from the "gray market" as the set is not worth $40-$50 with all those repeats...

Whoever is designing the blind bags needs to make some new brushable poses STAT!  I love them!

Hasbro, what are you doing? Did the toy designers even watch the movie? At least Luna is blue.  Baby steps, I guess.

They definitely got the color scheme right on this one!  Super excited to have one en route.  I am really curious if these crazy hair ponies will show up in some official capacity.

I am sooo glad this version is being released! I love it! This being said, Pinkie needs to lay off on the "Mirror Pool." :)

Pass for me as well...

This is pretty terrible--especially if geared toward collectors.  It has been almost three years and Hasbro still refuses to produce Twilight in show-accurate colors.  She's the star of their hit series.

Pony Corral / Re: Hasbro going after fakies? Simba pony II?
« on: July 07, 2013, 02:30:21 PM »
According to tvtropes, it was My Sweet Pony:

Quote
British convenience store Poundland stocks "My Lovely Pony", "Tommy the Train", "Little Explorer" and "Spider Power" merchandise. Amusingly, another My Little Pony ripoff is available, sold as My Lovely HORSE.

The German toy giant Simba introduced their own My Little Pony Shoddy Knockoff Product when the real deal had fallen into unimportance due to neglect by Hasbro. They copied the G3 molds, modified the printing and named the result "My Sweet Pony". Hasbro noticed and sued, and Simba had to apply a few more changes and re-release their small toy horses (not ponies) under the "Filly" brand. Unfortunately, Filly has become so popular among little girls in Germany who have never heard of My Little Pony that the fourth MLP generation would have ended up in obscurity, weren't it for the bronies.

Pony Corral / Re: Do You Upload Your Pony Photos to Flickr?
« on: June 10, 2013, 08:02:10 PM »
I'm on Flickr; however, my pics are primarily G4.  My G1's live with my parents so they are not around to be photographed.

I joined knowing Flickr is a networking/photo-sharing site.  I honestly think it is fun to see my images "shared" and popping up in other places.  Sometimes they are credited sometimes they are not.  I don't mind either way.

I even found it entertaining to see my Sky Wishes sell for $35.00 on ebay. ;)

Meh... Funko will release the same thing in a sleeker mold for $15.00.  I'll go that route.  I guess I should be relieved.  No stressing out over tracking down the exclusive.

For $50, Hasbro should have done a lot more.  I'm talking a gift set, pony with a unique mold, or pony with a complicated show-accurate outfit (ie, Photo Finish).
