i do know that the 20th anniversary ones who came with a winter hat and scarf were larger than the standard released ones.  did you buy yours brand new or second hand?  can you post a picture?  what does the tag say?  this is the only semi active care bear forum i know of, but it is really slow so don't be surprised if you don't get a response for  few days.

^O^ I love stickers. I think they are the best thing in the world to collect, cuz they are so easy to store ~ and so cute ~

u__u~ Unfortunately most of my stickers I like are just loose sticker flakes (and occasionally some sheets, but only really Japanese / Korean brands). Last time I did a private swap around the same time as the sticker swap and it was pretty great.

gyah. So tempting though.. I guess I'll think about it.
I'm always willing to do another private swap! :)

you can buy care bear bisques online (i got a bunch from ebay a few years ago) that you can paint your own so most likely someone painted friend bear and then stuck her onto a music box.

They are looking so good. Have you tried spayusa.org?
yes, thank you.  i looked at several of the organizations on there and that's how i came up with the price range for the reduced price clinics.  the prices are really cheap just not when you need it for 4 kitties.  i did find some other rescues that i will try to contact and try some more local vet offices.

i've tried giving them stuffed animals but they prefer cuddling with each other or me.  i'll try again.  maybe i should pick up a stuffed animal for each one so they have one to go to their new home with :)  they love chewing on and playing with bendy straws, a pop up cat tunnel and a one level kitty condo :)  they are so spoiled that they've been sleeping on my bed the past week!  some come and cuddle with me during the night or on my head/pillow :)  it's just all too precious!  (and to those wondering i do have preventatives set up so i don't roll over on any of them!)

they are all growing so fast!  i'm getting the run around from local rescues about who to contact for vet care. every one always says to contact some one else.  >_<even at reduced price clinics i can't afford $400+ to spay/neuter and vaccinate them. i won't even send them to a new home until they are fixed just for a peace of mind that they can't contribute to pet homelessness in the future. i just wish someone would follow through and help us. they are about 5 1/2 to 6 weeks old now we're in the weaning process, mixing KMR 2nd step weaning formula with their canned food. i'm going to deworm them in about a week.

if they look messy/dirty its because they lay on top of their food eating :brow: :satisfied: i wipe them clean but they never stay clean for very long! hopefully they'll learn not to bathe in their food soon.

Everyone is doing very well!  Only the runt (Baby Charlie!) needs bottle feeding sometimes.  The other three are able to eat formula and canned food on their own.  Those three are also litter box trained! They decided to do this the next day I had them! It wasn't my idea.  I just let them tell me what they need and do it.  The tabby (Baby Olivia!) is a champion eater, she lays on top of the food and plate and just suckles away at the food, she's always the messiest.  I can never get her to stay clean long enough.  The real big one is the orange and white one, Baby Oliver (or maybe it's Baby Ben!) he also seems to be a bit of a bully over food so I have to keep an eye on him too.  Then you have the Calico (Precious Baby!) who tends to fall asleep a lot but she can jump out of her box and likes to scream/holler a lot :)  I am so thankful that they all pulled through and are getting bigger by the day (sometimes i fall asleep for a few hours and notice that they've grown in that time!)  I'll probably be working with a local rescue so I can get free or reduced vet care for them since I cannot afford that on my own.

Off Topic / rescued kittens
« on: October 21, 2012, 04:51:03 PM »
yesterday upon arrival at petsmart i noticed people standing around a cardboard box. i thought maybe someone was giving away kittens/puppies. when i approached the box i saw 4 screaming/crying maybe 4 week old kittens! (they have no milk teeth)
The rescue organization that was there couldn't take them and said that shelters were likely to euthanize them since they need bottlefeeding and lots of care. Some lady said she ''found'' them and brought them to the store but I'm really questioning her story I think she took them away from the mother. seems unusual for strays to have kittens this time of year. she didnt stick around long either, probably disappeared a minute or two after i said i'd take them. the man from the rescue picked out the formula and bottle that i needed for them. he said he can help find them homes in a few weeks when they are adoptable. his rescue drives about 160 miles to this petsmart location for their adoption events! another lady from the rescue is trying to get me in contact with someone who she says knows vets that will work pro bono. i really hope that comes through!
these poor kittens were wet (from being sat in a box with canned food) and freezing cold. one was lifeless. i got them home right away and dried them off and started feeding them. the little runt bottle feeds but the other three were able to lap up the formula on their own, and then a second one ended up needing to be bottle fed. i've been able to get them all to go potty several times, and just started giving them pedialyte today with the formula because they started to develop diarrhea. they just had canned kitten food which they really loved, even the two who were bottle fed were able to eat this by themselves. a family friend who has hand raised other orphaned animals gave me advice on how to properly care for them. i guess i'm a substitute mommy for now! if any one wants a kitten or two..or four when they are old enough i am located in noVA.

(i filled water bottles with warm water and filled ziploc bags with latex gloves full of uncooked rice warmed until i was able to buy them a heating pad that's under their container now)
