Pony Corral / Missing ponies you sold
« on: November 21, 2023, 11:31:43 AM »
Hello everyone,

I sold ponies out of necessity a while back. This may sound silly and overly emotional but I miss them. They were all very dear to me and I have replaced some of them but I still miss the ones I don't have back yet.

Annyone going through  the same?

I still feel a bit silly but I felt like sharing.

I own Milky  I would say she is one of the more "common" Takaras, along with Pinky :)

How many are there? Not many!

Why are they so hard to find? They were only made and sold in Japan for 12 months. The licence to make MLP was bought by Takara (Japanese toy company)

What prices do they usually go for? $800 plus for an adult Takara (depending on condition and which Takara it is)

What's up with the babies and their fakies? There were just two Babies Lily and Popo, but there are plenty of fakies of the babies.

Are there any specific things I should know about? They have tails! I honestly did not know this until some one posted a back view picture of one! They have lots of different fashion sets.

Any info is welcome :) https://pinkkittywinks.wixsite.com/mlparenagallery/japan

Thank you so much for sharing. I have milky (yellow body/pink hair) on my wishlist. Is she harder to find?

Hello everyone,

Recently, takara ponies have caught my eye. I realised I hardly know anything about them.

How many are there? And why are they so hard to find? What prices do they usually go for?

What's up with the babies and their fakies?

Are there any specific things I should know about?

Any info is welcome :)

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Luke

Pony Corral / How do moc/mib ponies happen?
« on: November 05, 2023, 01:32:46 PM »
Hello everyone,

I was thinking about moc/mib ponies. Most original buyers would unbox them I think. With that in mind, moc/mib are more rare. But my main question is, how did these ponies stay moc/mib? Where they left over from lots from stores or bought early by a collector?

I don't know a lot about mib/moc ponies os I would love to hear about this/them

All gens are welcome but I'm specifically looking  for stories about older moc/mib ponies.

Hi! I have restored a few piggies (I'm from Spain) and as Pinkkittywinks said, it's always hard to match the hair, even using MLP hair they're differences in shades and tones. I used original my little pony pink hair to re-root the end of the mane of one Loly Pop (Snuzzle) and it was very different.

I use to leave my ponies as they are, though. I prefer to have ponies with small flaws than with completely new hair, specially when talking about nirvanas.

That is good to know. I will keep that in mind :)

Pony Corral / Let's talk boy ponies
« on: October 23, 2023, 12:56:17 PM »
Hello everyone,

Let's talk boy ponies.

I think they are great, but there are less of them than I would have liked to be. Definitely more g1 boy ponies.  I like the g1 brothers the best, especially Tex.  I wish g4 had more boy ponies as main characters, rather than just spike. Nothing wrong with a female lead/girls/girl ponies. Just my opinion.

I'm excited to see g5 Hitch trailblazer. I have yet to fully get into g5, but so far I haven't due to me disliking part of the main characters.

What are your thoughts on boy ponies/characters? Likes? Dislikes?

I would love to hear your thoughts :)

It can be quite difficult to match Nirvana pony hair, both in colour and texture, so pinching a bit from the tail is a good solution.

Yes, the Italy ponies often have the same issue as well with missing plugs from the bottom of the mane.

That is good to keep in mind :)

Peru Glory is lovely, she should be white, but the white Peru ponies have a tendency to turn yellow/cream/brown over time.

She is in the Nirvana Gallery :)

Thank you so much! I will check it out :)

If you ever can't find a Nirvana pony, try the Nirvana Gallery as almost all known variants are shown there :bigups:

Hello everyone,

I spotted a yellow unicorn with purple hair on insta. Her owner said she is a peru glory but I can't find any info and/or pictures of her. She looks cute on the picture on insta but I can't find anything.

If anyone has info/pictures or maybe owning her, I would love to hear it :)

Thanks in advance!

oooh I love piggy Minty :newpony:

Minty is pretty hard to match since her hair is more silver/grey than white, so pinching a little from her tail is the way to go to fill in any missing plugs. I have noticed it seems quite common for the piggies to have a few plugs missing at the bottom of their manes, I guess the ends weren't secured off very well.

Love pkw xxx

Thank you for your advice. I have seen that same issue before.

Nice! Which piggy is it that has joined your herd?

I second possums suggestion of using a few strands from her tail to fill the missing plugs :bigups:

Love pkw xxx

Thank you. It's piggy minty :). She misses 4 plugs on each side on the back near her body.
