This is the most expensive pony on eBay right now. As far as I am concerned, the person in Greece can keep it and I will play with my $15 lot of fairly mint finds to replace the G1s that I lost.

With there being 24 watchers, it shows me that at least 20 people want it.

You should edit the link out of your post, live eBay links aren't allowed to be posted here.

But seriously, yikes, just look at the G4.5 Cadance’s legs... Is it honestly even a horse anymore?

This.
So much this.
With whipped cream on top.

And the bulbous heads and doofy eyes that make them look cross-eyed when you look at them straight-on. They were pretty rough with pre-2017 ponies, but anything in G4.5 is AWFUL. They don't look nearly as elegant as pre-2017.

The grading system, I think, is silly. I keep my ponies in their packaging when I want them not because I like the packaging all that much, but because it keeps the contents nice. I've always thought of the grading system as a way to pinch more money out of collectors to inflate the "niceness" on the level of selling a car.

If someone wants to pay $800 for a pony graded a "90" on eBay then more power to them, but a thing graded as a "90" really isn't any more different then any other NIB of the same thing that looks just as well in the package that hasn't been touched by professional hustlers. And probably $730 cheaper from someone who just fell out of love with it.

My idea of "worst/outrageous" is different than others when it comes to most collecting, though. Something that costs more than an entire year's worth of payments of my brand-new, fully loaded car with a turbo engine and a warming steering wheel is ridiculous to me.

Again, this is all just me. That doesn't mean that someone just wants it. I have no kermiffins about it because it would be awesome to have a $5000 pony, but I am not spending that 5K to say I have it. It's more bragging rights in terms of monetary value, in my opinion, which that silly grading system feeds into and creates one deep racket to separate collectors from their money. Further, I think most of the G1 baby ponies look doofy (especially beddy-bye eyes- they look so unsettling ESPECIALLY when an eye is broken, and could launch a metric ton of creepypastas with the right people) so it justifies never dropping $5000 on this specific one.

Okay, I need to know. My curiosity got me.

May I ask what the "army" selection in the poll is?

On topic:

I miss my Blueberry Baskets so much. I need her back. She's gorgeous and in a pose that, while not my favorite, is just adorable.

I <3 G4,  but I am not all that into the redesign that they did for the movie toys. I have all of the ones from G4 that I would like, though I really can't bring myself to want ALL of the G4.5. There are very specific ones that I want, mostly of Starlight Glimmer, Sunset Shimmer, Rarity and Applejack. I like some of the princesses, I want all of the colts and seaponies/hippogriffs, but not all of the 4.5 line.

Currently I am focusing more on retros and recovering my lost collection of G1s. Have most of the G3s I want save for one I am constantly on the hunt for, and I am passively collecting some G2. I switched gears when G4.5 came around and I just couldn't stand how most of them looked.

Pony Corral / Re: Alt. Color schemes?
« on: September 18, 2018, 06:50:56 PM »
In reference specifically to G3, this is my opinion of most of the line because they just seemed to land lackluster, almost non-creative because lolpink:

The first one that comes to mind is Strawberry Sunset. The pink is great, but the stand-alone yellow just doesn't fit. I'd sprinkle in some strawberry red, orange and some purple to make a sunset color palette.

Marshmellow Coco is nice as she is, but I would have preferred more of a REAL chocolate with marshmallow color scheme with some sort of pink color tossed in.

Along with Marshmellow Coco, Mochanut and Tira-Mi-Su should be more brown/tan, like tea. The pink is fine, but the blues and aquas are not-so-tea.

I wish G3 Rainbow Dash wasn't blue with the weird rainbow of hair. I wish she was a cloud gray body with a sky blue mane and a full rainbow tail in a vibrant color scheme and a rainbow cutiemark to match. I get the blue of her body for being "the sky", but I don't like what they did with separating out the different colors of hair between the mane and tail. When I think "Rainbow Dash", I think leaving a rainbow trail behind as she is trotting, and NO PINK.

Autumn Skye would have been great with a thin ruddy orange streak to match the one leaf on her flank, too.

Sweetberry is lovely as-is, but the purple seems a bit out of place. I would have nixed that and used a deeper green with the white, or used a deep strawberry red instead entirely.

Island Delight is another that is lovely as-is, but when I think "islands" it doesn't provoke the color purple immediately. I'd love to see her in a sandy color, but the solid color of the hair is perfect for a great contrast.

I'd switch the aqua on the cutiemark and the hair for silver/white on Tink-a-Tink-a-Too.

I would have dropped the pink on G3 Wysteria entirely.

Green Apple needed some apple green for her mane and tail.

Sweetsong would have been awesome with a more natural colored mandolin as a cutiemark to complement a nice blondish-brown mane and tail.

Peri Winkle needs more periwinkle. The white body is okay, but why name her that when the colors are aggressively closer to purple, blue and teal? I really dislike it.

Chocolate Delight should have had brown hair with a couple pink streaks, or a light brown body.

Sunrise Song needed a bit of yellow in her mane.

There are more that I would tweak, except for this list:
MAH PERNIEZ
Always and Forever
Spring Fever
Winter Snow
Brights Brightly
Pretty Pop
Most 2006 Pegasus ponies.
Snow'el v2 (the pegasus)
Misty Blue
Rainbowberry
Denim Blue
Rainbow Bubbles
Cinnamon Breeze
Dream Blue
Amberlocks
Seascape
Bumblesweet
Butter Pop
All Divine Shines
Starbeam
Valenshy
Tropical Surprise
Soda Float
Lolligiggle

The one that I just can't stand the redesign for is G3 Toola-Roola in 2008. They ruined a good thing, there, and nothing can save the redesign.

What chaps my burgers, though, is how Hasbro has been so afraid of using browns, tans and blondes across ALL generations. I get not really using black because it's so hard to work with or may just not appeal to a lot of people, but more neutral, natural colors in a pony scheme are really few and far between.

Okay, I get that "natural" doesn't necessarily equal "mystical" or "magical", but the majority of ponies have butt tattoos. I think using browns and blondes would have gotten a pass for that alone  :\

Pony Corral / Re: 35th Anniversary Collectors Pony's - Part 2!
« on: September 15, 2018, 07:54:53 AM »
That's why I was surprised when I found a Minty when my Target had low stock, as she said rather popular, especially compared to Butterscotch.  I wonder how's least/most popular of the other two sets.

From what I saw left at my store, and the rainbow ponies, parasol seems to be a favorite. Moonstone and sunlight. Definitely Sunlight. She's a bit rarer, I guess

I always see Parasol and Sunlight, one or two each at a time. A couple of occasions I have seen one Skydancer, but I have her already and the other two vintage.

I am under the impression that these are basically 1 per shipper, so if a store gets a shipment of this in it's basically one of each unless they get more than one lot.

It would explain why poor Butterscotch is the only one that keeps getting left behind when there was one of each of the others- there were 4 Butterscotch's left.

Apparently no one really cares for her 'round here...

ugh... I wish they had made more of these. I love them so much better than Fashion Star Fillies, and I had a bunch of them when I was younger.

Seller: mass.sub.culture
https://www.ebay.com/usr/mass.sub.culture

Spoiler
I watched the auction of NIB Snow'el go without a buyer, and the price dropped from $99.99 USD to $79.99, then $74.99 and accepting offers before it ended.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/223093336981?nordt=true&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l44720

On the next auction it started at $72.99, I offered $55 and she let it set until the offer lapsed and the auction lapsed without bidders.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/223103666722?nordt=true&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l10137

She started ANOTHER auction, but this time the starting bid was $55. I gave up at this point, but my boyfriend decided to try and purchase it for me (without knowing it was the same person, as a gift for our anniversary), and offered $40.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/223112416685?nordt=true&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l10137
The offer was accepted. However, the seller has marked it shipped but has yet to reply with a tracking number. We have not received the pony.

Since then two auctions have lapsed and a new one started recently:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/223119245110?nordt=true&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l10137

https://www.ebay.com/itm/223128747044?nordt=true&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l10137

Current active:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/223138859934

tl;dr-
Stole money and is fishing for higher bids on an item that was already sold as according to eBay's system.

acaev_96 committed to  buying one of my items and we are fast approaching 24hrs since they initiated the transaction. acaev_96 is the same person as acacievan4, same address and all, from back in July.

I will edit this post with an update if they don't pay again, but what's really irritating is that their other account is on my ignore list. Regardless of payment or not, I am going to block this new account when everything is resolved.

Listing in question:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/113160116788

UPDATE: 9/12/2018
Sent a second message and opened an unpaid item case. Next update will be on the 16th when I can close if they still refuse to pay.

UPDATE: 9/16/2018
I closed out the unpaid item case. They didn't pay, so this is the second account that I had an issue with that belonged to them. I sent them a message with the formal request to leave me alone. Seller beware.

Even more of an update:

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: How have you sold or shipped playsets?
« on: September 10, 2018, 04:09:46 PM »
I can't remember that much about the mark-up of G1 playsets, but when I have sold ones from G3 and G4 I take them apart as much as I can which decreases the amount in shipping by a ton since it wouldn't be as tall/wide and in a better box.
