Off Topic / Re: How do you sleep in bed?
« on: January 29, 2022, 10:50:11 PM »
Usually, in a way in which my body is unnaturally contorted around my cat. Right now she's laying halfway on a pillow next to me but a lot of times she lays right in the middle of my spot in bed :,)

Check out my pony that was signed by The Purple Guy from Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza

LOL
You'd think that there would be a Freddy's pony in-universe if we have a CeC one. I'd kill for one of those actually.

This feels kind of that time a lady at a flea market was trying to insist and then argume with me that Baby Chucky Cheese Pony was worth more if it was signed. Or trying to tell me how much other ponies she had to sell were worth. And this was hummm, probably 20 years ago.

Signed???? By who? Charles Entertainment Cheese??????

Tbf I would totally pay more for a pony signed by Chuck E Cheese.

Agreed. Actually maybe technology has come far enough in the last 40ish years that a robot that is programmed to be able to write its name is now within the realm of possibility. Or maybe it's more like how the characters at Disney are schooled to write their character's signatures *just* so...

Been a minute since I posted the very first installment, huh?

I've been meaning to do this for a long time but as per usual, procrastination and forgetfulness won out. Well, now Security Breach is released, and both updates + DLC are in the works for release sometime next month already, so how about let's use that as an excuse to post this anyway?

But first; a request from one tailrustedtealeaf, who wanted to know which pony liked Mangle the most!

Bubblecup of course knows what it's like to be ridiculed for being different. But she also sees the best in people,
and Mangle is no exception. These two have struck up a lovely friendship don't you think? <3
...
ANYHOW. On to the main (mane?) event.

Looks like Tuneful and Half Note swung by Freddy's Mega Pizzaplex to discuss a collab with the band. They chat amongst each other about the sorts of instruments they like best. The Glamrocks were nice enough to lend some of theirs to the ponies to use =)

Half Note gives a little performance with Roxy's keytar in hoof. Monty and Freddy seem impressed!

Meanwhile, Tuneful and Roxanne are horsing around (ha ha....I'm funny, right?) while the others practice for the upcoming show. "Get down from there!" yells Freddy, as Chica wonders why she agreed to date Roxy in the first place. So immature!

As the show looms closer, the group discusses how it's going to go. But who's that lurking in the background...?
-----

As with the previous post, if you got a chuckle out of these pics, don't hesitate to shoot me some suggestions on
who should meet who in the next installment! I got plenty of ponies, and plenty of robots who are itching to
get some time in the limelight. Thank you so much for reading<3

You'd think i'd remember stuff like this a lot better than I do. I'd love to see a video essay about this sort of thing actually. It's definitely the most egregious example of something that's more common now among every day people who know pony collecting exists. Right now there's a Crumpet fakie on Poshmark that's priced at $30...>_> Soooooo annoying.

Ah I remember Fighting is Magic. Would have been such a cool game, I actually played a demo of it with some friends at a furry con some years back. A shame it never got finished but they did manage an original spiritual successor with character designs by Faust so not all is lost.

WRT plush makers; The person who got C&D'd was making literal thousands on their plushes if memory serves. Their work was understandably ridiculously popular and I was among a fan of theirs. They would put plushes on Ebay and bidding wars ensued. I think they had the word Dove in their name? I wish I could remember for sure, I wonder if some of their plushes are in circulation today...

Pony Corral / Re: Pony Availability in Your Area/Does MLP Sell?
« on: November 28, 2021, 02:08:34 PM »
I really want to blame Covid for a lot of the shelf warming issues, but I also think it's hard to tell when you're in an area without a lot of young people. I think people might prefer online shopping these days to traditional but I do like to think G5 will pick up a little bit more in the coming years. Post Covid and if they really do make a regular series like FiM.

It is a shame though that the pony sections of all the Walmarts I've been to are so small...even tinier in Target! I don't really know how much of it is due to Hasbro not making a lot of stuff or if retailers are hesitant to stock much of it. I guess we might just have to see.

Thank you for making a clickbait article fill me with joy Lady M xD I find it kind of weird they picked the flower fantasy set? Just because it seems so darn random. I'm still praying for BF TaFs

Pony Corral / Re: Price check: Mimic
« on: October 28, 2021, 05:16:22 PM »
I'm not sure if online petitions really do anything, personally, I have never heard of one doing anything no matter how much it gets spread around. But if only one in history can actually work I would love to see a repro Mimic. I do believe that HQG1C has her pose as either a blank pony, or at least one character. Maybe both. I think all the would have to do in that case is cut out the eye part before using it to make their mold for her.

Actually, if they would make her, I would expect for her price to actually sky rocket...the demand to have the ORIGINAL, "real deal" would definitely be strong imho.

...Speaking of, I'm still sore that they didn't choose Galaxy to be in the set of confirmed TE repros. No offense to Sky Rocket but I'll never stop believing that she deserves to be in that place!

I'm most concerned for the young children of the kinds of people who take these articles seriously the wheel of progress is turning without them and suddenly every little thing that has even the most non-confrontational message of unity is now Banned from their household for being "woke". If the parents of these children want to shelter them from things like that then what *are* they going to be allowed to watch or enjoy or play or read?

Yeah, see, we can make fun of paranoid adults who see a talking horse movie and whine about it and that's all fine and dandy but in the end the kids are the ones who suffer the consequences of being sheltered from the outside world. It's something I personally find to be especially heinous, knowing that when they reach adulthood, they're not going to have a single idea of how to navigate a world that they never got to experience until then. The kids will always be the real casualties for our (adults) mess ups.

I'm having a hard time finding the words for what I mean. I don't know if I agree that the Internet at large coincides with society, in any one place. There's certain customs, language, social rules, etc that don't really translate well in "real life." You probably can't expect for your parents to understand if you react to their Facebook post with an image or gif. We would know the image in question conveys a particular emotion or state of mind, but to them you may as well have responded with a picture of a pickle jar. And I really hope you wouldn't respond to a post about the loss of a loved one with "Can we get an F in the chat" (Can you imagine? GOD)

Anyway, yeah, I think the article can just be boiled down to somebody who's incredibly bored and actually has nothing notable to say about anything meaningful. It's fishing for attention and trying to cause mass hysteria over nothing, plain and simple.

60
I want to let you know I was not asking mlparena if they were "woke" I dont know how that came about...

It didn't, I think you're misunderstanding the responses a little... But it's still worth speaking about because the article used the term in the first place. Actually I didn't expect many people here would even know the word, I always thought the Arena was more separated from the Internet at large lol, maybe thats a me thing.
