Pony Corral / Re: Giving a G1 to a child

I don't know how much youd have to worry about the hair.  My niece is 3 and has a special shelf in my room (some more common g1's, bunch of g3's and several g4's).  I tend to buy my commons in as nice of condition as I can find, and they look as nice as they did the day I put them there.  For reference, I've had her shelf set up for a few months, and she's over at least once a week.

When your best guy friend (who is not into ponies, at all) suddenly wants a Doctor Whooves figure, because I look at ponies around him, that much!
When all of my friends and family knows if they go shopping with me that I NEED to detour some places to check for ponies

Pony Corral / Re: What do you do with your accessories?
« on: January 09, 2014, 11:30:00 PM »
I have very few accessories, except for my g4's and my niece is allowed to play with those, so I make sure they're together on her shelf.

My plan was, if I ever started accumulating a lot of accessories, to get a bead organizeroor smallish clear tackle box and label who's accessories were in each compartment.  I tend to lose small things, so I know having them in a bigger case would work best for me  :)

Nothing started yet - but I have some concept ideas for a Pinkie Pie, and a battle armor Nightmare Moon.  I love making armor, so I'm almost leaning toward the latter, now....

I used to.  I don't check in very often and sort of play it in spurts.  I'm not sure if you can seach by user, but I'm LadySiha on there, too.

I was sort of thinking that I'd need to try swimming, I just didn't want to have to pay for a membership somewhere (I do own a tiny weight set).

I may need to bring up joining the Y to my friend that wants to lose weight.  We were awesome at keeping each othet motivated until my pain got worse.

I could just use some advice.

I used to lift weights and do crunches (I was up to around 700 every morning).  My goal was to get some toning through my arms, legs and tummy and I was doing well.
Then my back and shoulder started acting up.  My shoulder will actually get so sore that I start guarding with it (holding it close to my body so it won't move).
As a result, I started going to a chriopractor, which helps my pain but not enough so that I can get back into my work-out routine.
I cosplay and have a few revealing costumes and I just want to look my best in them, and even if I'm eating well I don't seem to hold onto my muscle tone.
Does anyone else have experience with trying to work out with pain?  Is there something I should be doing that I'm missing?

Off Topic / Re: Any models around here? I bet there are!
« on: January 02, 2014, 12:21:30 AM »
I've "modeled" for photographers before as a cosplayer, and I'm my sister's go-to when she wants to try stuff out (she's a profesional) but that's it.  I've always wanted to try it, and have had some friends and family members say I should go for it, but I have no idea where to start.  I almost applied to Charisma +2 a few years ago, but talked myself out of it, mainly because I used to be cripplingly shy (something I have first cured myself of in the last year or so).

I guess I'd still love to, just no idea where to look or how to start.  Proabaly just gonna stick with having my pictures taken while cosplaying though - lol

...Currently, I'm reading: Demon Love Spell and Happy Marriage?!

I'm a big manga reader, I loved Happy Marriage.  It is starting to be released now so I'm going to buy it as it comes out.   I'd suggest Butterflies, Flowers if you liked Happy Marriage it has similar story and humor.

Red River is my favorite manga but I've read a lot of different kinds.  I'm a sucker for romance stories :P but I also like good horror and fantasy.

I actually just finished up Butterflies, Flowers right before Happy Marriage came out.  I'm a total sucker for josei titles

I can't wait!  I'm gonna coerce (possibly bribe) one of my friends that plays ccgs to play it with me!

I'm just getting 2 decks to start out with, and we'll see from there if I need to get some booster packs! ^.^

Off Topic / So Who Else Reads Comics?
« on: December 04, 2013, 12:17:05 AM »
I wasn't really into comics until I started working in a comic book store.  I'd started reading manga when I was 12, and didn't get into American comics until I was 18 or 19.

My favorite comic series, to date (Japanese and American) are: Sailor Moon and Tramps like Us (manga), Sandman, Watchmen, Gears of War (after Karen Traviss took over writing) and the Adventure Time with Fionna and Cake mini

Currently, I'm reading: Demon Love Spell and Happy Marriage?! (manga), the new Sandman mini, the Adventure Time Minis, Regular Show, Mass Effect Foundations, and the IDW My Little Pony comics.

I also have a history with the New 52 Batgirl and Catwoman (so good but I got so behind on them!) and Witchblade.

What about you guys?  Are you into it?  When and what did you start reading?  Anything you're looking forward to that's coming out soon?

....Pinkie Pie!
I keep my custom Okami blind bag pony on the army shelf since the artist named her "Okami Pie"

You will also see Holiday La-La-Loopsy Ponies, a Sylveon and screaming corn as photo bombers!

I really want to get more of the G3 Pinkie Pies and make myself some custom G1's...

I was going to participate, but I get nearly all of my canned/frozen vegetables from my family's gardening so I was having difficulty answering the questions
