I was sure I had commented on this already!

I absolutely love both of these ponies!  I'm a huge fan of dragons and the wing sculpting on Anauth is just amazing.  And Sakura is just gorgeous!  All those tiny flowers and the ombre hair are stunning!  :inlove:

Thank you again, BC...they were totally worth the wait!   :lovey:

This looks just fantastic!  You've done an amazing job on painting the animals and I love the variety of textures in the hair.

Congratulations on finishing it!  Some things are totally worth the wait.  :inlove:

Ooh, she looks great!  I love the color combo you used and you did a great job of rehairing.  I can't do FBRs at all without an airbrush so you've done very well!

Yay!  There she is!  The pics don't do her justice...she's even more beautiful in person and I love her so much!  She already has her spot on my shelf with her party stuff arranged around her.

Thank you so much again Griffin!  :inlove:

Ok, so it seems like no one organizes their baits!   :lmao:

I don't feel so bad anymore!

Customs / How do you organize your baits?
« on: August 08, 2023, 06:47:57 AM »
I'm wondering how everyone else does this.  Right now I have my baits sorted by gen, but then they're just kind of stuffed into those reusable grocery bags so when I want a bait I end up pulling out the whole bag and dumping them all to figure out which bait I want.

I'm considering making an inventory of my baits in Excel, where I have a picture of each pose that I have and then how many of each pose that I have so I don't have to do that.    :wonder:

It would also be helpful when I see baits for sale and wonder if I currently have some of that pose.

Aw, you guys!  You're all so sweet!  :inlove:

I actually usually use Triple Thick glaze for eyes and for some reason the last couple ponies I've done the Triple Thick has dried super cloudy so there must be something wrong with my bottle.  So I actually coated the eyes on this pony and my birthday swap pony with UV resin and cured it in the sun.  Now their eyes are super glossy and very protected!  I like the effect so much I think I'll just do it that way from now on.   ^.^

Oooh, I was seeing these everywhere and had to track down the source...so beautiful!

Could I possibly request Nightlight and Heart Throb?  Heart Throb was my favorite childhood pony and some day I'm going to get my hands on a Nightlight!

ETA:  could you possibly do Nightlight with darker points around the ears, eyes and muzzle like this?

This was my entry to a contest on another site with the theme of "Watery World".  While I didn't place at all in the contest I'm still super proud of my pony!

This is Falina, the frog fairy:

Falina is the guardian and caretaker of all the tiny froglets in the spring. She flits about from lily pad to lily pad keeping the eggs all herded together in clumps for safety, then when the tadpoles hatch she teaches them how to find food and hide from predators. She comforts the tadpoles through the scary process of metamorphosis, then encourages the little froglets to make their way off into the wide world.

She is for sale for $120 USD.

Like BC said, super cool design!

Whether you go with nylon or something like brushed yarn depends on the finished look that you want.

For instance, these two ponies were rehaired with nylon:

This pony was done with brushed yarn:

And this pony was done with roving (basically fiber that hasn't been spun into yarn yet):

So if you want to be very precise and have a lot of control over individual hairs I would definitely go with nylon.  If you want the hair to be a bit messier, poufy and chaotic then I would go with brushed yarn or roving.

Hope that helps!  Can't wait to see what you do!  :D

BC, ouch!  Don't overextend yourself!  I bet doing something for yourself would really help kickstart your creativity again.  I know for me I was kind of dragging my heels on the projects that I "needed" to do and then once I decided to make a set of Star Wars ponies for me I was interested in doing the other ones again too.

Good luck!   :bigups:

On my worktable at the moment I have:
Alternate rehair March birthflower - just needs eyes glazed and hair styled
My "do this in your own style" custom pony - hair rooted, symbol and eyes half-painted  :yikes:
Baits for my bday swap pony, a contest pony, Harley Quinn, the Mandalorian, Grogu, Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ahsoka Tano
Three customs in progress of OCs from an online pony game - one about 20% sculpted, one with sculpting done at the sanding stage, and one that didn't have sculpting that has painted details in progress

And I'm sure I'm forgetting something...

Incredibly stunning as always!  It always amazes me how you are able to work with that super long hair!

I'm really struggling with this and I don't know if I'll get finished.  I've got the dark points done on the body and head and my hair colors picked but I keep changing my mind on the details and the animal friend.   :argh:

Usually rehairing is the last thing I do after everything else but I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and just rehair now because the everything else part isn't happening at the moment and I'm going to run out of time.
