Back again with another yarn fiber rehair. This time it's Twilight! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginExtra root holes were added to achieve the shape of the bangs. To get her short hairstyle to hold I used just a couple drops of diluted styling glue. Her tail is left silky and natural with no product added. Hope you guys like her! <3

I'm pretty new to the world of customs, and I've found myself completely baffled as to what the standard method of pricing customs is. For example, how long do you spend on a custom vs. your final price? I'm asking because customs seem to take a LOT of time, and I see most basic paint + rehair customs going for $20-$30?... So far FBRs take me HOURS to get them as smooth as I'd like, with 6-8 layers of thinned paint and having to wait until each layer is perfectly dry before the next one. Then a rehair will be ~2 hours, and eyes and symbols will be another 2-4... Am I just slow, or is everyone out there massively undercharging for their work? I guess there's the whole "it's just a pony toy" factor when determining what people will pay for, but now I really gawk at the comparatively low prices out there vs. the hours and hours of work that has to go into that sculpting and those perfectly-smooth paint jobs... Anyway, please tell me how you break down your prices, ponies!

Oh gosh, soooo many nice comments, thank you everyone! ♥  ♥♥ And yes, she's my first painted custom! I had been doing just plain rehairs for the last couple weeks, but she was my first attempt at a FBR and symbol/eye painting... after a couple practice eyes on another bait of course, haha. I definitely had to go shopping for teeny tiny brushes! (yet I still feel like I need even smaller ones, oof). This was my official first eye attempt: visitors can't see pics , please register or logincute, but too blotchy! minty came out much smoother. <3 I really want to try something with sculpting next, but I'm not sure what... a G4 carousel pony, or maybe a young princess celestia/luna/NMM? Hmm...

Oh my gosh I am so so SO excited you are making these! This looks fantastic!! I TOTALLY want one once they go into production, I may have to commission you... or do custom trade? If you wanted to? 8'D
The only thing I could possibly suggest/beg-and-plead-for is to possibly make a unicorn-headed mold as well! That was the one thing I really wished Hasbro had done with their sea ponies, and alas, they never did... (I'm picturing Rarity as a G4 sea pony and it's the best thing ever, ok.)

Oh wow, that sounds like fun actually! They're just vinyl hollow heads with root holes, right? In that case, I don't see why not!  Do they have a lot more plugs than a pony, though (~100)? You can send me a PM and we can work something out maybe! <3

Eeeek I'm so super interested in this!! I have so many blind bag ponies that I would love to see as brushables, oh man. I'm actually kinda glad this isn't starting until May, because I'll have more feedback and examples done by then. Still an arena newbie!

Yay, finally done! This is my G3 -> G1 Baby Minty! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginShe's my first painted custom, fully re-painted in acrylic and sealed with Dullcote. Her hair is brushed and straightened acrylic yarn, and it is SOFT. I'm really proud of her, it was a lot of work to make sure I didn't leave any brush strokes behind! She's currently for sale, asking $40 + shipping.
