But I saw some bronies around say, in reaction to the *toy design* "Well, it looks better than G3! I'll accept any pony that isn't a G1 or G3" like what? Do you have any reasoning for that? Is it because they look like horses? Are you so anti-G3 you've become blind to what actually looks good?
Nah, it's because those are the successful prior generations and thus walls to be knocked down in their quest for whatever it is they want to define themselves and their generation as...
This is it exactly. G1 and G3 weren't "theirs" so automatically they are bad. It wasn't the designs of the pony toys or the cartoons, it was just the fact that it was something they could label as 'different' than their generation and therefore have something they could be against.
Hmm, I think that is true for some, but it would unfair and harsh to say that is the case for them all. In my experience with the community, the reaction to the older generations is often just the shock at the major differences; the "chunky" and more horse-like design instead of the cutesy look. Sometimes people don't enjoy seeing something they like look so vastly different. One might see that in this very thread...

My reaction was the same as everyone else here (not liking the cat look, worried about the implication of the Teen Titans Go look), but I'm calming down and deciding to be open minded. I realize that I also had a visceral reaction to the reboot (guess I shouldn't call that G4.5 anymore), which I now love, and to Equestria Girls, which turned out OK. People have freaked out about things that seemed wrong but turned out great in their minds later (Heath Ledger as the Joker as a famous example). I'll withhold judgment for now and probably even purchase the Rarity for my Rarity army and maybe Twilight since somehow she turned out the cutest compared to the rest. I just also will withhold expectations. I hope that is it's a brief series like it seems, as that may prevent it getting annoying, and I'm just glad the voice actors are the same.
Side note: I don't have kids, so maybe I'm not being sensitive enough, but I think it's funny the ponies got to say/lip sync "hell" after all these years.

Cute and whimsical! I like that it looks like bat wings that would be on an official G3 pony. Fits the style perfect!

Uhh a bunch of the ponies posted here in lots as bait are in basically perfect condition so their NOT bait ponies especially the just played in condition g1's....
I would consider it up to the seller and buyer on what to consider bait condition. Also keep in mind that pictures posted aren't going to show all angles, and bait issues might be hidden by hair or the other side of the pony. This thread is open to posts on whatever a seller might consider bait condition. Feel free to contact sellers for more pictures if you are only interested in badly damaged ponies. If anyone is interested in "ethical baiting" see this link: http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/BaitHowever, also know; we as moderators will not be policing or taking positions on what sellers, buyers, or customizers do. Thanks, and happy selling/finding!

This first one is a ghost pony for the Halloween Swap for grante! I've been calling her "Looking Glass." She floats! Actually, she is suspended by a wire hidden in the long hair, as you can see from the last two pics. Granate requested long hair and likes ghosts, so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity. Drilling a hole in a mirror was tricky. She had to travel all the way to Spain, so I'm glad she arrived safely! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginAnd a video of her moving: https://i.imgur.com/OIObRIG.mp4Plus one for my personal collection! Rarity is ready for the season! This will be a must have for me. I've been going crazy over it since the toy fair, and I'm glad to see all their cutie marks are properly displayed, as that wasn't the case at the fair.
From the Hasbro website, this one is listed as being available at other stores. Not sure if that is accurate to the individual items, but that's how it makes it seem. Im hoping hoping this will be at Target soon, as I don't have a Costco membership. I would like to have Minty on her own too though. Where are people finding her?

I moved this to Pony Corral from Customs for you, as I think you'll get more responces here. It overlaps some with customs but also can be considered a general question.

Ooo, interesting. I've never seen this doll, but they are so fun Is their hair just wool roving though? When you get the doll will you be able to compare it to the texture of a perfume puff in person?
