I think good decor would be of ponies that are related to California things, like desert, ocean, gold, boats, the sun, etc. So Sunlight, Tex, Salty, Beachball, etc.

Ooo I like that idea!

Pony Brag Arena / Amazing luck after a thrifting break
« on: April 22, 2018, 02:57:42 PM »
My husband and I just LOVE going to the thrift stores. We would go so often we were always finding some sort of treasure. Sadly we decided we needed to be more responsible and take a break. Well on Friday we had some extra cash and decided to stop at one Goodwill.

It was so worth it to find G1s!

Poor Ringlet's hair is gonna be a chore to fix and she has some rough spots but she is still beautiful! I was so surprised to see Baby Countdown! My husband found him and brought him to me "This is a G1 baby right?" <3

I also want to brag on a recent trade.

I always liked her color scheme but when she was in stores I didn't want to collect any G4. When I decided I did want her she was going for prices I didn't to pay for such a tiny plastic horse. Trading for her was such a perfect solution!

Another G4 I wanted because of G3 connections but never thought I'd get since she was released in a set.

She was a thrift store find some months ago that I never did a brag for.

I love finding ponies I never thought I'd easily get!

The pony "musical chairs" game was fun. It was only mildly traumatizing when I and another player grabbed the same pony and I ended up with a head and she the body. :P

Sticker "Stalker" - supposed to happen throughout the event, everyone gets a sticker sheet and has to stealthily put stickers on other people with out them catching you. First one to empty their sticker sheet wins. I assume if you get caught you have to put your sticker back on your sheet.

Mummy game - Normally this involves teams wrapping someone in toilet paper and whoever completely wraps their person first wins. We could use fashion style ponies (G3 or 4) or large plush and yarn. Toilet paper would probably be too big.

I only ever got two and they were both Minty. I despair at the thought of ever getting to trade the extra. I think if I could find these again I would try to buy another. I have terrible luck though.
I don't think I need to try collecting them all but I think they are cute and fun to pose and I'm happy to diversify my pony collection.

I'm very interested! I miss the pony meets. The last part of July is packed with work events so I'm not sure what my availability is quite yet but I'm determined to make it work. So excited!

You have a really cute style! I love it, and I love the way you color!

Your new ponysona has such pretty hair! I'm a big fan of pink and yellow color schemes.

I haven't had many horrible experiences thank goodness. The worst was plastic shopping bags used as packing. I hate that.
Funniest is this:

Sorry the picture is terrible. Her cute headress was meant to protect her earring. I very much appreciated the extra care taken but it was just so funny looking!

Then a week or two later I found Barbie! Sadly she is missing a skate blade. It was so neat how I was able to reunite them! Buuut then the novelty wore off.

Oh wow those fakies look better than the real ones! My Pinkie has really scraggly hair and the others look sad with the single colored hair. The molded hair looks nice.

Oh man I have a Pinkie Pie somewhere. She is still in a box from moving. I'll dig around for her and take photos if no one posts any first.

Off Topic / Re: Gel Pen Recommendation

Another vote for Gelly Roll! I loooove how smooth they are! I have several of the sparkle pens, a set of the metallic, Moonlight (awesome bright bold colors), and Glaze (slightly shiny finish and they leave a raised texture.) I don't own Souffle but I know both them and Moonlight are recommended for dark paper.

I love plush too. My favorites are the more realistic style animals. I love to get one when I visit a zoo or aquarium as they are cute and also represent a memory. When my husband(then boyfriend) and I went on vacation to Monterey Bay and visited the aquarium he bought me this awesome cuttlefish and i bought two mini octopi to sort of represent us. They are always holding each others tentacles! I got a really great furry sloth from the local zoo where we went for our engagement photos and we posed with him for a few of the pictures. We went to Monterrey again for our honeymoon and this time they had the most amazing anglerfish plush! So of course one came home with me.
I still have a few of my childhood plush, particularly a somewhat dingy 101 Dalmation puppy Patch. He was such a favorite. I have started a collection of handmade Posey plush due to swaps.

Sadly most of my plush are stuffed in a trash bag as I haven't found a home for them in my new apartment yet. I miss them :(

I got her as a kid from my cousins. She hasn't got a tail and I can't remember if she came like that or she lost it in my care. More recently my sister gifted me another one with a tail. So now I have my childhood tailess one and an everything there version.
