The Dollhouse / Re: Ended Toy lines?
« on: January 29, 2020, 12:12:10 AM »
I have the same question about Snapstars - did they really end? They never showed up in my country, and the first time I've ever seen them was about a week ago when I was on a trip abroad to the Czech Republic. I would have thought they are fairly new and can't be over just yet - unless this was confirmed by the company?

I am currently trying to sell two Pocket Dragons myself, and the way I tried to determine their prices was by having a look at eBay (based on that, they aren't really worth more than a couple of dollars, but I guess my two are also not very rare). If that doesn't work, or if you can't find matching auctions to the ones you have + in similar condition, I think you should try to ask over at the Toy Box & Games Cupboard section. This section is rather for asking about buying&selling advice in general, e.g. if you have an issue with a seller or situation, but over there more people will see it who can potentially help :)

Pony Corral / Re: POTD 1/2/2020 January Joy

I chose she's new to me, but thinking twice, I accidentally lied - now I remember a post where we talked about these, and I checked the set

I like her, but not really as is - I'm not a fan of her symbol or hair colour. I do like her pose and that she is white, so I'd love to pick up a baity one to rehair and repaint her symbol.

Sadly I do not own any of these ponies. Munchy and Night Glider are my two favourites from the set, Munchy because of her lovely colour scheme, and Night Glider because of her colours and theme. Choosing just one would be hard - but in the end I voted for Munchy (didn't realise/want to choose two). I just can't resist yellow ponies, they always win me over

Pony Corral / Re: Greatest Pony find?
« on: January 02, 2020, 02:42:02 PM »
Based on value, my luckiest finds were the ones listed below. I found them all separately, and if converted, their prices were $1-1.5 each. They were all found in the wild, in second-hand shops, charity shops or flea markets.
- Mountain Boy Lightning
- Macau Lemon Drop (in a lot)
- Nurse Tenderheart
- 3 Alt. Birthflower ponies
My personal favourite out of these is MB Lightning. He was my first boy pony, and I longed to have a "pony with hairy legs" (not sure I realised the gender difference) ever since I was little ^^ Lemon Drop is a close second, as her colour combo is my absolute favourite.

(Although based on the title and the first post I believe value should be considered, but if we disregard value and only consider personal preference, I think Baby Sea Pony Sea Star - pictured in my avatar - for about a dollar is my personal favourite, because I love Sea Ponies, and yeah, favourite colour combo :3 It's a shame I no longer remember when and how I got her, there is a chance she came in the same lot as Macau Lemon Drop)

I'm also having issues with the game, although for me it's the AR refusing to work. It's too bad because I have a quest where I have to take 5 photos of ice-type Pokémon, and I was saving this for a day when I don't go anywhere and it's less likely that I encounter Pokémon, but I wasn't able to fulfill it yesterday because AR just didn' work at all. It just did not load. It still does not today... my experience with such issues is the same as Sora's: there isn't really much we can do, it will sort itself out in a couple of days.

I'm using 8 incubators at the moment, luckily I had the opportunity to spin almost every day, even if I didn't really plat that day. I missed the half distance hatching though, as I haven't even left the house yesterday. I still believe this whole event was a little ill-timed (I guess many people spend Christmas inside with family, and the 1st of January mostly in bed :P ). Oh well, they'll hatch eventually.

Pony Corral / Re: POTD 12/30/19 Snowdrop
« on: January 02, 2020, 12:48:19 PM »
Oh wow  She's new to me, and I'm in love! She's yellow, and I love snowdrops, and thus find her symbol SO beautiful! Insta-want ^^

That said though, I can't really understand her hair colour. I don't think it matches her overall appearance, and it reminds me of the "Fresh New Look" Furbies, which were basically sewn together from leftover parts, creating new colours that totally didn't match (like a greyish animal-like fur matched up with a bright yellow tummy). White hair would have been a better choice IMO, but probably that was thought to be a little too bland for most? I'm sure I'd rehair her with white hair if I came across her with hair in really bad shape.

Customs / Re: Christmas tinsel

I'm also not in the States, but I'd totally grab a pack if I was there :) and I'm sure there will be US peeps who will find this useful - it's so kind of you to be sharing this find! Part of what I love the most in this community is that it consists of helpful, and not greedy people  ^.^

Post-Christmas sales are totally awesome, as you can run into gems like this. I too have bought tinsel in the past like this. While I didn't see tinsel in the past few days, I did manage to get some items that I'll be using as preps and decorations in the "room" (part of a shelf) I'm planning to set up for my dolls.

Pony Corral / Re: What IS Old Pony Smell?
« on: December 31, 2019, 08:03:41 AM »
It's the smell of happy memories, innocence and magic.
This. This is EPIC.

I love the smell too, and, while not so prominent, I can also smell it on second-hand finds (just sniffed two recently bought ones that currently stand on my desk, waiting to be cleaned up). I always thought it's just the type of plastic - I too have wondered why I never encountered any other toys that smelled like G1 ponies, but I also don't think I've really come across any other toys of the same age that are made out of plastic that seems similar in looks, touch and stiffness.

The perfume thing is an interesting idea. Perfumes that smell like linen, kitties, or even dirt exist, so there would totally be room for this. However, I'm not sure I'd like the smell also if it was detached from ponies - I mean, I'm pretty sure part of my liking the smell is coming from the fact that I'm sniffing an actual original G1 when I smell it, so I'm not sure it would have the same effect (for me at least) if it was coming from something else, or if I myself smelled like that :P

Pony Brag Arena / Re: Charity shop pony luck - another Alt. Birthflower!
« on: December 30, 2019, 02:02:45 PM »
Thank you to both of you! :) I still haven't yet managed to clean them (we've been away for the holidays), but I'll try to post post-spa pics once I get there :)

A question to those who are familiar with ribbons: only June Rose's tail is visible in the picture, but there you can see that her tail braid is tied with a (pink) ribbon. Baby Surprise has her tail in a similar fashion, tied with a white ribbon. I would be interested to find out if any of these ribbons are original and theirs, but I am totally not familiar with MLP ribbons :lookround: Does anyone know what colour ribbons they came with? What is the best way to tell if a ribbon is original (e.g. what is their usual length and width, if there is any)? Based on Google searches, Baby Surprise seems to have had a pink ribbon, and June Rose *probably* with white (I've only found this pic, and the flash has washed the ribbon's colour out, so I'm not sure it's white), so there's a chance the ribbons are theirs, just mixed up, but I just don't know if there's a good way to tell

Pony Brag Arena / Charity shop pony luck - another Alt. Birthflower!
« on: December 23, 2019, 09:49:31 AM »
Last Tuesday I left work a little earlier (shifting some overtime hours off), and on my way to a certain shop I passed a charity shop. I was aware it is there, I just didn't plan to visit other shops on my way - however, now that I was there, I decided to go in, and boy, was that a good decision!

They all seem to be in good condition (apart from the MGR fakie's hair, but I don't mind that. I have a childhood pony like this, just darker blue with pink hair, and her hair looks even worse - even though I didn't handle her roughly. My original MLPs who got just as much play have much better hair, so this is just what you get with fakie hair :) ), the spots and stains on them seem to me like something that will come off after a day at the spa :) I'm happy with all of them, and it's tough to decide which one I like the most (Baby Surprise is darling sweet, but the MGR fakie is equally sweet, I love this fakie mold), but I'm leaning towards June Rose - not only because she's rare, but because even though her colours aren't that unique, I was secretly wishing to have her someday, as June is my birth month :) She's the third Alternate Birthflower I found in the wild here, and none of them came from shops that normally sell imported goods, so I'm getting more and more certain that Alt. Birthflowers were, at some point, available in stores here. 3 of them in the wild in 1.5 years would seem just too much luck, too unlikely otherwise.

Ah, it seems to have been a great swap! I like halloween-themed stuff all year round, so such a box of goodies arriving around Christmas wouldn't bother me at all ^^
That Clawdeen is gorgeous! And congrats on Catra - what a great timing for a grail doll to arrive!

Pony Corral / Re: Who knew these were a thing? Did I miss this??

I've never heard of them either (either Snow Babies or the existence of these porcelains)... Based on a quick Google search, it seems 3 different ones have been produced:

Like others, I also find these really cute - the babies not so much, they just seem to be off, clashing in style, but I really, really like the overall appearance of the porcelains, the colours, the mostly white with some pastel. I'd definitely pick any of these up to keep if I stumbled upon them in a second-hand store or charity shop.

Ah, good to know - thanks for the heads up Pokeyonekenobie! Although I wish such big events wouldn't happen at times like this... on days when I'm not going to work I don't really play with the app (so I almost always miss community days too) - other than being on annual leave until next year, I also don't plan to move around much in the upcoming days. The past weeks have been awfully exhausting, so while I normally hate to stay at home all day, right now I'm weirdly enjoying it. During the holidays we'll travel to the in-laws, but that isn't where I am planning to play either, as we'll be with family, and as there aren't any pokéstops around their house, I'd have to leave the gathered family and go out to spin one to get an incubator, which may not be too polite.
