Yes, I think that's what's about to happen. I really like it too. :)

Oh it's still very pretty, the more I look at it the more I want to fix it up ^.^
How much would you be thinking of selling it for?

PM-ed you.

Sounds like a good idea. I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested.

Pony Corral / Ragged pony wear. What to do with it?
« on: June 11, 2013, 03:01:29 AM »
I bought From the Designer Collection a while ago. It was a bit of a last minute decision and I didn't look up what it was supposed to look like properly, I was just glad that it had all of its accessories. It was described as having a tear in the frill which it did but I later realised that the entire bottom half of the dress was missing. I don't think the seller was aware of this, I think it was just someone selling her childhood toys, not a collector. Anyway, I luckily found a new whole dress at http://ronsrescuedtreasures.com/ so the outfit is now complete. However, I don't know what I'm supposed to do with the broken dress. I don't like having clutter lying around and I don't wish to keep it. Do you think anyone could use it for spare parts? The rose is there, and the velcro is good. The bodice is also good and maybe some of the frills. Also, there's a slight colour difference in the frills. The broken one is most likely UK pony wear and the whole one US pony wear.

Pony Corral / Re: Sunfading Tutorial ^_^
« on: June 06, 2013, 12:41:18 PM »
I've had some great sunfading success lately and for the first time I've sunfaded coloured ponies. I've sunfaded Glittering Gem, Moon Jumper and Sunlight. The first two had spots, don't know exactly what they were but they came off. Sunlight had a shadowlike pinkish mark over her back - didn't look like a saddle mark - and when I tried to sunfade that part of her, covering everything else in tinfoil, I noticed that her blue colour became less yellowed and more vibrant, so I sunfaded the entire pony. I don't think it came out alright in the photos since the light was different at each photo shoot but you get the idea.

First photo: no treatment. Second photo: cleaned with everything I could possibly think of. Third photo: sunfading.

No treatment at all.

After cleaning and sunfading. Still some spots left but I thought she had had enough. ^.^

First photo is when I've just prepared her for a full body sunfading, after having only sunfaded her back for a while. The second photo is after a bit of full body sunfading.

The photo lies a bit, she's not that blue even though she isn't a yellowed pony anymore.

I also had some really nice results on my Scandinavian Gusty. The US Gusty was sunfaded herself about a year ago. I've also added some blush to Scandinavian Gusty since, as I have with US Gusty, that you can see in the photo. I just dabbed a bit of my own blush on her with my finger. It's not permanent but it's an improvement.

Pony Corral / Re: POTD 6/5/2013 SS Cupcake
« on: June 06, 2013, 08:39:04 AM »
She was one of the first ponies I bought when I started collecting. The first ponies I got were a total of six from three different sellers (thought I'd save on postage ;) ) that arrived at about the same time. I had no idea there was something called so soft ponies, since they weren't sold here, and I just loved them after having found out about them. The so softs among those first six ponies were Cupcake, Bangles and North Star.

Hm, I am a bit disappointed in Cupcake because her hair is quite dry, masked well in the photo below, and she isn't that white anymore. Looks like the previous owner has washed her and she has yellowed underneath but the flocking is good. Her hair is driving me nuts though, I've tried everything, conditioner, fabric softener and ironing it. I've had it both straight and curled. But she looks quite good in the photo.

Pony Brag Arena / Re: Like a slice of Key lime pie...

Jimmy Buffet fans are called Parrotheads and his song "Margaritaville" is a Key West fav, hence the Key lime quip. My mom is kind of obscure like that, but I have to wonder if whomever designed Mimic was a Parrothead!?

Thanks for the explanation. That makes it even funnier.

Congratulations! That was a very funny story and a very funny description of Mimic. I had to look up Jimmy Buffet and listen to his music because of this. ;)

Thats so neat! I cry then too! :p Love that tune - I had Sky and BBC as a child and watched MLP on DJ Cat show or Fun Factory (cant remember the exact ones)

I think my friend told me she did get the playsets from abroad - I cant remember the exact box mine came in, but I do remember it had the same image at front. I may have been about 5 or 6 when I got it - not completely sure! (Im born in -79)

I was also born in '79, perfect pony age. :) Think I got my stable when I was 5 or 6 too, possibly 7. I never watched the MLP cartoons on TV only on video at a friend's place because she had them on tape, my family didn't get a VCR till I was about 10, so seeing those movies on youtube really let out the nostalgia since I hadn't watched it since I was about eight-ish maybe.

My Show Stable box just has photographies on all sides, not the drawing.

Oh, wow, that truly is amazing. That Sprinkles looks much nicer than mine that I got on a card when I was little, the hair quality is so different, it's like the difference between a MO Majesty and one that came with the playset, but the difference is that yours that came with the playset is the one with the better quality. Brandy seems to be in good condition too. Mine had rubbed details even when I got it as a child. You're so lucky! Lovely ponies.

Speaking of crying. I always cry when I hear the original MLP theme song. The first time I watched Midnight Castle as and adult, on youtube about a year and a half ago, I pretty much had tears in my eyes throughout the entire "movie". Ah, nostalgia.

Out of curiosity, where does your friend live that sent you her ponies, in another country? The show stable box looks a bit different than mine, that was bought in Sweden and I suppose Norway would have had the same kind.

Once again, major congrats!

Pony Corral / Re: Princesesses with huge Eyelashes
« on: May 30, 2013, 03:23:47 PM »
I'm also one of the few people that like them. Well, at least I like Princess Royal Purple, I'm not so fond of her "sister". I love the lashes even if they are a bit too much and perhaps not so elegant. It's also very entertaining to hear all the suggestions of what people think they look like. ^.^ And I don't like them for a nostalgic reason, I was too old for ponies when these came.

Pony Corral / Re: Cleaning glittery sweetheart sisters?
« on: May 29, 2013, 02:23:36 PM »
I've only cleaned G1s with "normal" glitter symbols, not symbols covering the entire bodies. However, I have found that it's very practical to use baby wipes and toothpicks. You wrap a part of the baby wipe around the toothpick and that way you can clean very close to the symbols. I've done this to clean around Gusty's leaves and in between the sun and cloud on Sunlight for instance.

I've recently managed to squeeze Fifi into Hearts and Candy and she looks so good in it. I have to post it here. This pony just keeps growing on me.

Here are some of mine. Moonstone and Rockin' the Night Away are from my childhood collection, the rest are new.
