I am so glad the box got there alright, I'm just sorry I couldn't find more new in box stuff for your box. But you weren't hard to shop for at all; I actually collected die cast planes and cars when I was a little kid thanks to my dad so it was a fun box to put together. And I did a little bit of post diving to find your favorite pony :D I enjoyed making the custom, I just wish I had more time. Your 'B Team' package was supposed to be the rest of the mane six lol, but there was a bit of a learning curve on car customization.

Customs / Re: Working with clay: Could anyone please give me advice?

Thank you everyone for the advice, I'm so glad that I asked :) *many hugs* With the feedback here, I think I will go ahead and pick up a 1/10lb container of apoxie sculpt from Aves Studio's (thank you soooo much Uninu for the website! I had never heard of them). The oven bake clay just doesn't sound like a good choice any more for this project. Also, thank you very much for the suggestions and advice regarding the lotion and flour, Galactica and  lovelauraland. It's little tips and tricks like that that i love talking to the community for :D

Customs / Working with clay: Could anyone please give me advice?
« on: April 28, 2016, 09:27:53 AM »
I have taken a journey in to the wonderful (if not terrifying and confusing lol) world of sculpting for a swap pony, and I have hit some major snags. I've checked out all the tutorials I could find around here, but none of them really answered the main question of 'what went wrong - round 1!'.

I'm using Sculpey Oven Bake clay, since it was all that was available at my local store, for minimal changes to the pony (so I'm not using a ton of it), and after baking last night and letting it cool, I gently poked one corner of the piece to make sure it wasn't soft and the entire thing cracked and fell off the pony! O.o I mean, this stuff just felt like it had turned to dust, or plaster, and crumbled. I am sculpting directly on the pony and then baking it, so I had the oven set at a slightly lower temperature than what the package suggested, but I also let it bake a little longer (also, how can you tell if you are over baking it? I'm not a fan of toxic fumes, as you can imagine).

I'm worried if I attempt this again, that I'll end up with the same problem, or that it will survive the customization process only to break in shipping, or shortly after my partner gets it, and needless to say, that is no good! :/ I wouldn't mind using apoxie sculpt, but is there any where you can get a small 'sample size' kind of thing (not an actual sample, just smaller than the big jars I've seen for sale).

Though I have a lot of favorites that I still enjoy watching, my all time top favorite would have to be Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit. There is so much about it that I just love! The music is beautiful, I love the animation and art style, the characters are memorable and grow throughout the series. It's also a wonderful blend of realistic and fantasy. There are very obviously parts that couldn't happen in the real world, but at the same time there are 'slice of life', I guess we'll call it, sections that just make you love the story. And also the ending.... the entire series wraps up in a way that I still think about today, years after watching it the first time. (I also like the fact that it isn't a series that drags on forever; it wraps up in something like twenty four episodes or so, without leaving any plot holes or plot threads)

I've seen Liv dolls hanging around old walmarts and TRU stores but I think they are discontinued. If I see one I will keep you in mind! I love their doll bodies!

Thanks! I'll have to hit up our TRU at some point and see if they have any hanging around still. Once I knew what to look up I see that they actually had guy dolls with the same articulation, which I would love to get a hold of for some custom projects that I've had kicking around in my head for awhile.

Thanks guys! And I can understand why they are a favorite choice for a rebody; the movement on them is fantastic. Only downside is that the dolls are discontinued, aren't they?

The Dollhouse / ID help - What brand of doll body is this?
« on: April 26, 2016, 08:16:44 PM »
I was hoping someone could help me ID this type of doll body. I found two of them while out shopping over the weekend at a flea market; they were both headless at the time, and I happened to have an Ariel head from another project so I stuck it on there. I love the way she looks, and how she poses!

I would love to get some more of these dolls to swap out some other doll heads, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. She had some labeling on her lower back, though it looks like her previous owner tried to scrub or file it off, and all I can tell is she was made in 2009 I think? Any help would be great!

I can't believe that we are almost at the deadline! I'm not so sure I'm going to be able to get the hand made item that I want to send done (it's been fun but I need to stop deciding to try new things for swaps! Learning new things does not need a time limit tacked on XD )

I'm not sure how I missed the pet question, but some how or rather I did O.o Sorry about that!

Would you like an extra for your pet or something? Like a toy(not treats I don't send animals treats due to sensitive diets) No thank you. Trust me, our pet is spoiled rotten already and doesn't need anything else to keep her happy lol. Besides, fuzzball will love the box and the wrapping paper and be good to go.
