as an artist, I decided to erase away some symbols and try to 'customise'. I was a kid, probably 6 or 7. And you know as a kid, you are a terrible artist lol. Few years later I found them in the bag and I was like "What did I do?". I ruined like 5 or 6 G1 ponies. On top of that, I stupidly threw them out thinking they were useless. Years later again, now I wish I saved them as bait ponies. I probably could have restored some too.
As an adult, I made the mistake of letting my nieces take some home. Got them back a year or so later when they stopped playing with them, every single one ruined. I knew they didn't take care of their toys, but as a good aunt, I wanted them to be happy.

Has anyone ever tried using easter egg coloring kits and dying ponies the same way? I am asking because I see this galaxy egg dyes ( https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Egg-Easter-Dye-selling/dp/B079H4NZ63 ) and I am considering doing a galaxy themed custom based off another RP character of mine. This particular kit has liquid dyes, not the tablets that you mix in water. additionally, I wonder how well tablet dyes would work if you soak the pony in there. curious curious.

Bushwoolies because it's what I grew up with and nostalgia!
Dragons because I love dragons of all types, which includes the ones in MLP too

Since I've recently picked up my G1 collection and found my bin of childhood ponies, I realized many are missing. Im not sure if my parents tossed them, if its still in their attic or my nieces stole them.
So I've decided to try to find and purchase those ponies I've had as a kid first. There's about 15 missing ones, give or take. Sometimes I'd find them in a lot with other ponies, and I'd buy them all anyway since they were bonuses for me.
I think once I get those missing childhood ponies back, I'll decide if I want to continue to collect more or enjoy what I have since it's really all the nostalgia factor for me right now.

I joined because my love of G1 ponys has been rekindled when I found some at a thrift store. I had to go into my basement and dig up my bins of my ponies from my childhood, and now I'm lost in the world of nostalgia. What a rabbit hole!

How long have you been collecting? not sure how to answer this, I've had my ponies since I was a kid, but never really considered myself a collector until recently
Which generations of ponies do you collect? G1, G2, G3 or G4? G1 has my heart
What made you want to collect ponies? Nostalgia mostly, they were my favorite toys as a kid
Tell us about your collection! I have about 50 ponies, give or take. My favorite since a kid has always been Whirly Twirl and Braided Beauty
