As I've said before, I'm happy to send you half the total cost of the item and shipping.  I think that's what's usually done in these cases.  And unlike me, you can always recoup as much or more of the other half by reselling those ponies if they are delayed.  I think this is probably what's fairest to both parties.  What do you think?

And... after receiving... or not receiving?... a message that I was currently working on getting the money out of CanadaPost, the buyer escalated it to a claim.  I provided information to Paypal regarding the transaction number for mailing with her address, but knowing Paypal's usual rulings...

Did you have any sort of tracking on the package??

Sigh.

Tracking starts at $55 a package to China, which is why I usually don't offer it unless they ask for it, or by way of ensuring I cover my bases.  And of course the contents of this parcel were destined for a swap *FACEPLANT*

The universe--or some obscure customs officials in China--hate me.

Sigh.

Off to the daily grind, and hopefully CanadaPost will be more obliging with answers than it has been in the past...

Good morning, ponies,

So I shipped some items to China on August 26 via airmail.  I received notice today from Paypal that my buyer has opened a Paypal dispute over payment on the basis of parcel not received.  I then scrolled back through my messages, and realized she sent me a short message a week ago about it that I hadn't responded to.

It's totally my fault that I didn't respond to the message.

I am a Respiratory Therapy student with med school aspirations.  In concrete terms, this means I get up at 4:45 AM every day, bike 8 km to the hospital regardless of weather (and I live in Canada), and work an 8-12 hour shift.  On the days when I get out early, and weekends, I bike another 8 km across town to the local college to work on the emergency response team and with the local Humane Society.  I get most of my messaging done in between waiting for emergency calls to come in, and studying.

This is no excuse for failing to read my messages more carefully, but I hope it does put it in context.  I rather wish the buyer had sent me another message before escalating it to a Paypal dispute, but oh well.  In the interim, I can only hope she responds positively to the message I sent her.

Beyond this?  I asked one of my Chinese friends about the address the buyer provided me, and he suggested that it might be missing a postal code.  Do Chinese addresses have postal codes?  Or is there anyway I can send proof directly through Paypal of thetran saction where I paid for shipping to her address?  Additionally, if you know anything about filing lost item claims with Canada post, it would be helpful.  I'll be out $50 in goods and postage if the parcel doesn't miraculously appear.  The buyer does seem to be quite experienced and has lots of positive reviews, so I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding.

Thanks!

Pony Corral / Re: The strangest place you've found a pony?

The fabric centre in this little town where I used to live kept a basket of old kids' toys for children to play with.  I found a Bubbles, Applejack, and MM Cuddles in there when I was 15.  Sadly, the owner of the store wouldn't sell them to me then, since they were for the kids to play with.  It bugged me for years that there were ponies in that store and I couldn't do anything about it.  I finally went back when I was 22, and weirdly enough, I found the basket of toys hidden in a backroom.  The store clerk sold me all three :)

Oh, and there was this house where a retired foster mom was moving out, and everything in it was for sale.  It honestly looked like someone had dumped the contents of a Salvation Army bin in the house and left it like that.  All the toys were upstairs, but I couldn't find anything.  Then I went down the the basement and just about stepped on a Sweet Lily :0)

She doesn't have any.  She ran away from home and is currently living in the forest.

Q:  Why are all of the pony royalty in FiM female?

More cheap graphic tees at Walmart!  And MLP tupperware!

I want Dreads Dude and Drama Girl (Not Bubbles/Muffins/Ditzy/whatever contrived name she is now). Just because they were nicely designed.

Is Drama Girl the one with the green hair, stripey high socks and red skirt/beret who was holding up the skull?  Because yeah, she's freaking awesome!!!4

I really wish though that the dolls didn't all have Howleen ears and close-set features.  I like the softer look of the animated ponies...

And while I'm wishing, it would be really nice to see more subtle human renderings of Twilight-as-human--ie. normal skin tones.  Not purple with pink hair.  I always thought she looked Asian since she has vaguely almond shaped eyes and straight, swishy hair.  Shrugs.  Oh well.

Awww, that's too sweet!  I love Kongs, the dogs at our Humane Society go nuts over them.  And it's so fun watching some of the brighter dogs try to puzzle them out--one of the border collies had this amazing knack for getting treats out by tossing it up in the air or throwing it against a wall.

Sooo... do we get to see the amazingly cute video?

Awww, I've never seen pony fruit snacks.  I hope they get them in Canada so I can spend time biting off Twilight's head and making horrible sound effects.

Pony Corral / Re: Talking Nightmare Moon worth getting?

What does the toy actually say?

There was a thread about her phrases a little while back. Very tame stuff about putting clips in her hair and being a pretty princess. She also talks about the night sky and stuff.

I think this video has some of them? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43Km6xAzZdE

Awwwww!  It's NIGHTMARE MOON.  Not 'My sweet fluffy princess' or whatever.  WHY can't we have ONE villain toy that cackles and shrieks about eating your firstborn and causing global anarchy?  *Cries*

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: How to identify a rerooted pony?
« on: July 23, 2013, 01:27:29 PM »
What exactly makes your purchaser believe they were rehaired? And can you provide some pictures from your sales, just to get an idea on what ponies we are dealing with?

Umm, I'm not sure yet what makes my purchaser believe they were rehaired... I sent her a pm asking her how I can identify rehairs and she hasn't responded yet.  Here are pics of the ponies though...
