I don’t know if anyone is looking for these but I just saw the balloon themed blind bags for the first time. It was at HEB in Texas.

Pony Corral / Re: G5- do you have expectations?« on: August 16, 2020, 08:01:40 PM »
For me, I feel like we are on a break now? I know that the new show is out but I haven’t gone looking for it. But most telling is what *isn’t* being put out. I was just at Walmart today and the mlp section has shrunk down to exactly 1 shelf! And Target isn’t much better. That to me says that Hasbro is doing the bare minimum to keep mlp in the collective consciousness.

Pony Corral / Re: G1 reboot and favoritism from Hasbro? Good or bad?« on: August 14, 2020, 05:53:19 PM »
In terms of the toy, I would love to see something more like what HQG1 is doing. G1 style design, new characters.
In terms of the show, there are elements of early G1 I would like to see. Namely a more pastoral/less urban vibe. More songs! And while I wouldn’t say no to seeing one or two older characters brought back, like Applejack but not Applejack again*, I don’t need for it to be an entire reboot. I will admit to imagining what it would be like if RAMC could be made into a full length movie but I’d want it to be in the same style with the same charm. I’m afraid that any “reboot” would mean flat, highly stylized and “edgy” characters such as has been the trend in animation lately. *what about Gusty? She seems to be relatively popular and I wouldn’t mind seeing new Gusty toys. But I’m mostly thinking as a toy collector and not necessarily as a fan of the cartoon character. 49
Pony Corral / Re: Prototype SDCC Majesty Found!« on: August 14, 2020, 05:29:18 PM »I usually call them "G1 Retro" or something else along those lines. Makes it clear they're G1-styled, but not from the actual G1 era. I do something similar. Or just call them “Basic Fun ponies.” It’s always cool to see some insight to the designing process. But I agree that leaving the horn white was the best choice. painted horns (and hooves) twinge my fakie-sense. Agreed. 50
Pony Corral / Re: ~Out Now and Coming Soon ~« on: August 14, 2020, 05:15:06 PM »Real item you can purchase right now in your local grocery store: RD was chosen because she is blue and the theme is red, white, and blue. Unless the item really was designed specifically because of that one picture, then I doubt the designer of the item had any real knowledge of MLP and wouldn’t have known and/or cared about Twilight’s cutie mark. Especially considering that the item is only of the head. Re: 4th of July Gifts are not traditional. It’s more that it’s traditional to decorate and/or dress in flag themed colors and the retail stores are full of all kind of things red, white and blue. Much like everything is red and green in December and pastel colored in the spring. 51
Pony Corral / Re: How Many Orders Does It Take To Sell-Out Target Online?« on: July 30, 2020, 06:24:54 PM »I’m tempted to try to order them but I’m trying to do my part to make sure my local Target continues to stock these by waiting to buy them directly from the store. Even though they always seem like they take forever to stock. It looks like my Target has redone the end cap but there are still a few things missing including the ponies and the baby pound puppies. Well, I may have to eat my words and order them after all. I was just at my local Target and they restocked the ponies...with another set of Rainbows. No Gusty, etc., to be seen. 52

These are all super cute! Also love the t-shirts previously posted. And nothing says 80’s like a pony with a rotary phone on her rump! 54
Pony Corral / Re: wanna take a walk down pony memory lane? (Dream Valley website)« on: July 27, 2020, 04:54:03 PM »What a blast from the past! MLP was one of the first things I searched when we got internet service at home in '97-'98. Dream Valley and the TP were the first sites I found. I browsed for hours (when someone didn't need to use the phone), and I based my first collection checklists on its info. There were so many more ponies than I realized! Haha! Same for me! Except my only access to the internet was at my mom’s work on the weekends when she wasn’t using her computer. So I printed out the whole site and put it in a binder. This was back when it was just the backcard images and not the photos. And since the printer was black and white I colored in the images myself. I still have it, too. 55
Pony Corral / Re: If basic fun remade another g1 playset, whcih one do you want it be?« on: July 27, 2020, 04:42:29 PM »
I voted for the Waterfall because it’s one I don’t have that I want, it’s small ( I really don’t have anymore room for anything bigger) and it’s very pastoral. I tend to like my ponies more fantasy, less urban.

Pony Corral / Re: New game ponies!« on: July 27, 2020, 11:55:19 AM »Did anyone notice that the Lite Brite pony has a different symbol on her prototype versus on the back of the box? Which do you like better? Seeing as the Twister pony has different symbols on different sides, is it possible that the Light Bright pony is the same? So maybe what is on the box is on her hidden side? I do like the Light Bright pony the best out of these. The Dungeons and Dragons set is cool but I’m not a big enough fan for the price point. 57

I really miss the flea markets. But there isn’t anything new in stores so that isn’t a temptation. I keep up with the pony news. I was preparing for the Pony Friends Forever Convention but since that has been pushed back, I’ve felt free to focus on non-pony projects that are more immediate. I’ve also been sucked into Breyers, particularly the traditional sized unicorns.

Just a lot of extra decoration/bigger mask footprint between the eye and ear so that it’s not so noticeable. 60

I do think they need their own identifier outside of gen numbers. How about “Nostalgia Cash Grab”?
