So, things have been rough at work and right now, all I really want to do is sit in my scrapbook room (where my ponies are) and brush some pony hair. I know I can't be the only 36 year old out there wanting to do this right now. Anybody?
I have my box with MIB G4s, when I feel bad/sad I can open one and then brush their hair. *love*
And sorting through buttons, also very soothing.
How funny! I have a few ponies I'm doing that with now. And I understand the buttons. I have tons that I use for scrapbooking. They're a go to embellishment for me.

I've found 2 G1's at thrifts stores and flea markets. I've been actively collecting for 3 months or so. I'm on the NW side. I've been to that store that you are talking about. It's pretty cool. I've only been once and picked up 5 or 6 G1's. Their prices aren't thrift store prices, but they will sometimes work a deal with you. I thought some prices were good and others not so good. I didn't get any G3's because I know I can get most G3's for a buck or so at thrift stores. You can join their Facebook page. I'm still waiting for them to update on any new ponies. I constantly check Craigslist, too. I've only seen G1's advertised outside of Austin once. We go there often, so the drive isn't the issue. The price was. Actually, I saw a Dream Castle for $200 in River Oaks. But, I wasn't willing to pay that River Oaks price. I don't see many ads close to me, and I'm only wiling to drive so far.
I have a question for you. I'm not sure if you've looked or not, but Walmart supposedly has some retro pony merch, like journals, etc. I've checked 3 locations and have yet to see anything. Have you seen any of it?

* Very minimal to no haircuts. I've never rehaired and not wanting to try now.

* Don't necessarily need accessories, but wouldn't reject them

Animals: cats (I have 2), hedgehogs (collect them, but will have a real one someday, regardless of what hubby thinks)

Candy: almost anything without peanut butter, love dark chocolate (keep in mind I'm in Texas and it can get into the triple digits during the summer), almost anything raspberry or mango
Food: I love Tex-Mex! But I can't take anything spicy
Hobbies: scrapbooking (I have a scrapbook room, which is where my ponies are currently residing)
Other collections: not much really, except for the hedgehogs, and scrapbook supplies. Hello Kitty is fun (and her friend Chococat)
Allergies: none, but I still don't like peanut butter
Personal: married with 2 kids (1 boy and 1 girl)
Profession: I'm a licensed attorney in a "non-traditional" role at an oil and gas company
Favorite TV shows: I honestly don't watch much, but I'm a fan of Game of Thrones and have gotten into The Walking Dead. I still love watching Scrubs, too.
Favorite movies: crap that's hard! I can rewatch the Harry Potter series, the Avengers (and related movies) and Disney movies over and over.
What else? I have fine hair that doesn't like to stay in certain kinds of clips but prefers to fly away. I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin (Hook'em Horns!). Pecans are my favorite nuts. I'm not an adventurous eater, but have expanded my menu as I've gotten older. As for my age, let's just say that I was a great age for My Little Pony when they came out. (Why didn't I keep any of it? And my Strawberry Shortcakes, and my Care Bears, etc) I'm a thrifty shopper and love finding a great deal. The only other county I've been to is Canada, and passports weren't required then. I've been to Hawaii twice. I am not a fan of cold weather. (Thank goodness I was born in Texas!)

1. Flea market find in Houston, TX. 2 Indian ponies Butterscotch and Bluebelle. Originally I passed them up as I do not collect CP ponies. But get this...my husband says go back for them just in case! Lol!
2. Bargain priced 2 for $3
3. They have since been sold to lovely arena members and I no longer have their pics.

Thanks! I was wondering if that was it. I live pretty near there and was wondering if it might be a good place to check. It was just kinda shady last time I went. Of course I wasn't looking for ponies at that time either. 
I went to Trader's Village today. They had a lot of ponies, most G3. I think they just randomly priced some of them, too. But, I ended up with a dozen or so, including a 2007 Sunlight and a Baby Glory. I think I'm going to wait until its cooler to go again. I was melting!

About 15 years ago my mother-in-law pulled out my hubbies childhood toys. Most were ok, but Heman's head had melted sideways and to his shoulder. Though Houston summers can provide extremely hot attics. And I'm sure they had been in there for 10-15 years.
