Ok, I officially need more shelves to display my dolls.  I'm in the process of posing/hair styling everyone, and moving them around to make room for the newbies... and I don't think they're all going to fit. I'm going to make risers for now, to try to fit more per shelf. But even that will stretch it, once the two double pack exclusives hit in the next month or so!

I mentioned something about the stands in the last thread on the old Arena. My Ghoulia came with a lime green stand, and Abbey came with an icy blue one. Gil had the teal. I didn't find Lagoona, a friend out of state snagged her for me. She came with the teal as well, but my friend let me have the pink one that came with hers (she ordered her own from AD). And Ravie mentioned that her Gil came with an orange stand.

So I'm inclined to think that the initial run came with individual colors, but everything after is the teal? The last three signature dolls I've purchased (Toralei, Operetta, and Nefera) all came with black stands. I'm wondering if black will be the standard color for stands, with basic lines coming with another color. Not a big deal, since they all go into a box, along with the brushes. I prefer to display the dolls posed, without stands. But the individual colors was a cute touch.

Aww, really? I think Toralei and Operetta are beyond tame... and Howleen coming up too. :) Hope something comes along that changes your mind!

I am hoping Robecca Steam has a heavy Steampunk influence myself. <3

Howleen is ADORABLE, and Toralei is ok, but sometimes when I see Operetta, Cupid, and some of the CAM sets, I feel like MH is eventually just going to devolve and be a bunch of pale/skin-colored bodies with funky hair.

I mean, look at the dragon-girl set. That could have been AMAZING, but they went for caucasian skin with green accents. It looks like the only place they are willing to take risks on now are the CAM add-on sets, probably because they think if the made the full doll, it wouldn't sell. But the three-eyed girl has the darkest blue skin we've seen yet, the bee girl is awesomly freaky, and I would pay SO much money to have a complete skeleton girl, with thighs and upper arms. (Making the torso would be an issue.)

I mean, I've only been into MH for a couple of weeks, and I understand that as an adult collector I value the not-so-pretty more than the target market does, but the fan-voted new doll coming out looks like an undead Lea Michele. I hope they keep the eyes pure white, because that's really the most unusual thing about her.

So I just hope the robot doll looks totally not-human and the gargoyle doll has DARK gray skin. And that the human-based monsters continue to have the darker skintones -- there's enough caucasian dolls with pink lips out there, KWIM?

The only two characters with "caucasian" toned skin are Deuce and Jackson. The Wolf family and and the De Niles have skin tones I'd deem "normal", but not caucasian. The dragon and Lala are actually pink, and Cupid and Spectra are bone white (and Spectra has limbs that fade to clear).

Outside the De Nile sisters and Jackson (who is a human), I think all of the characters has enough defining features to place them in the "monster" category. YMMV of course.

*edited because I shot that last post off on my phone while at work, and somehow put my own words into the middle of the quote. Whoops!

ugh.  everything is still bare at stores around here.  I want skull shores draculaura so bad.  I didn't even realize that operetta has that huge decorative scar?  is everyone liking that?  I don't know if i can get over it in person... but i don't like it in photos.

You are not alone, I don't like it either. It makes me think of scarification and that freaks me out... natural scarring I don't have a problem with but this does not really look natural to me. Also on all the pics I have seen on her eyes seem really :muffin: Pony.

Her eyes have a slightly different placement from some of the other girls, which can look slightly :muffin: Pony from certain angles. But it's like she's glancing upward, and in person (to me anyway) it gives her a saucy look.

Congrats Pickle! Totes jealous of that SS Lala. Can't wait to see your inevitable pics! xoxo

i just went ahead and left a negative feedback, i hate to be a meanie, but i'm out my money.

Leaving honest feedback is never mean. it's protecting future potential buyers. So good for you! :)

I hate to be the devils advocate here but this seems... A little far-fetched?

Agreed. And I'm always put on guard by over-usage of phrases like "heart-sick" and "heart broken" in these types of stories. Like they're trying too hard

Who knows though- maybe something like this did happen. If it actually did, I hope the chick is able to get some of her collection back.

I love her scarring. It's really different for this line, or any doll line. And I love that it's actually imprinted and textured, not just a decal or paint. And it goes down her neck and onto her upper arm. Beautiful!

The problem with straws is that her hair is cut so dang uneven, it will be hard to get a good curl :\ Ugh, her hair is just such a disaster!

The curls on mine are fine... haven't tried fixing the back yet. I know Mandy said it really didn't take on hers, so we'll see. At least a quick boil will help de-frizz it!

Finally found Operetta and Nefera at my local Target! I'm especially excited about Operetta, since I'm a sucker for red-headed dolls, and I adore vintage hairstyles. Plus, she's so unique, with the tattoos and the scars. And I never noticed it in pictures, but her shoes have a black spider with a red "G" clef on it where the shoe's "tongue" would be. Darling!

Nefera is gorgeous too- she just gets overshadowed by Operetta in my mind :P

Found Skull Shores Gill and Lagoona today. They were 11.99 each. Pretty awesome considering TRU was charging 17 bucks for them.

I wasn't going to get Lagoona because I don't want too many duplicates but I saw her makeup and fell in love.

Isn't her makeup delicious? I'm particularly fond of her little octopus earring and the tentacle/bubble heels.

What's the difference with the second edition Spectra? Now I'm curious as to which one mine is...

Like barbgirl said, first one had all black ball/chain earrings, while the second release has silvery gray chains as well as accessories that are a bit more translucent.

I know wickedwonderland had a picture of them side by side on the old Arena, but it keeps re-routing back here before I can find it. Maybe she'll come along and re-post it.

:dropjaw:  Oh. My. God! I am in love, totally and completely in love with this set! Thank you for posting a picture, Pickle!

P.S-Crimson, I will be PMing you later to fully geek out and squee about this. You will be able to handle my spazztic reaction to this.

Aren't they hot? That Clawdeen is fab enough to warrant a two-pack exclusive purchase. :p

[quote="LuvlyMelody"Also, if they're making Howleen short, is there's a possibility they will start releasing Draculaura that short now? My guess is that they made Howleen short for the same reason for why Nefera is taller, To show the age Difference between the ghouls.[/quote]

I suppose anything is possible- but I'm guessing that Lala will remain her current height. Other than the webisodes, the main characters aren't stated to be any particular height; so I don't think Mattel will suddenly change her just to be "show accurate". Howleen is supposed to be younger (and Nefera older), so that's probably the reason for the new bodies.

Yay! The Dollhouse is back! This isn't the only place I go for MH goodness, but every site has it's own feel and denizens, and I missed you all *snuggles*

I'm on the fence on the special. I think as long as the CGI is limited to just the specials, I'll be fine. It does give the characters a bit more of their doll look, but I feel the 2D does a better job of capturing facial expressions better.

So loving Operetta, and cannot WAIT for her to show up by me. Nefera is quite gorgeous as well.

Pickle, I am absolutely living for that group shot of yours <3
