Probably is Pretty Beat.  Congrats though!  That was very sweet of your boyfriend!

The "I want one right now" price would be around $65-75, and climbing.  The "I have the patience to wait and maybe pick one up in a lot with the hopes she will be in good condition and I didn't just waste my money" price can be lower.

As always, it comes down to how much patience you have.  And yes, I would have to agree that prices do - and will always - rise with the introduction of each new pony generation and the passing of time.  Each new generation adds collectors to the pot, but the number of G1, G2, and G3 ponies in circulation decreases yearly, and will never rise.

I have heard that there can be problems with Italy's customs, but I have never had an issue.  It seems most issues are avoided by shipping Priority.

Pony Corral / Re: What's the most you'll pay for a pony?
« on: March 05, 2012, 12:26:17 PM »
I might be alone here, but there is no maximum for what I am willing to pay for something I want, haha!  That being said, I very much take into consideration how rare the pony is, and how rare the pony is in the condition it's in.

As an example, I might have an idea for what I would be willing to pay for a TE Bright Eyes.  But if one came up with absolutely no caner or age marks, I would not think twice about spending $100 for her...

My husband claims not to like them at all, but then whenever we go to Target or Walmart (and even TRU), he goes straight for the aisle they are on.

Ooh!  Last night, we were at Walmart actually, and I didn't say anything about even wanting to go down that aisle, I wasn't even planning on it, and he just headed there himself.  I thought it was funny.  But I also collected long before we even met so the first time he came over he saw mountains of them :)

I would anticipate about $500 for Italian Blue Lickety Split.  Possibly more.  Anything less, consider it your lucky day!  Best of luck getting your ponies!

Filthy, that's awesome!  Did she stay white permanently?

I have seen it done!  I bet one of our very talented customizers has a picture for you!  If you are wondering how it is done though, I believe the color-changing paint was easily removed with acetone like symbols.

I absolutely had a problem with this seller, and I would strongly recommend not buying from her.  Do not close your case.  She did ship my items, but only AFTER I had to open a case on her.

I have been extremely leery of this seller ever since...

HUGE HUGS!  I hope everything works out alright for you!

I cannot recall ever seeing one that was not Made In China.  I could very easily be wrong though.  Even so, I have had several in my hands, and they are all pretty hard.  I think it is a rarity to come across a squishy one.

I think lillico is right about seashell.  I don't know for certain though.  I happen to have a bait one too.  Pm me if you're interested!
