Pony Corral / Re: sweetie blue? a new pony?!

I love her colors. Not too thrilled about the tinsel, but that can be fixed. She was found on Taobao around the same time Minty was, wasn't she? I'll be surprised if either of them is finally released. The fact that not many of them were seen on Taobao in the first place, then the fact that it's been so long, where most ponies we see on there are released within a few months makes me think Hasbro changed their minds about releasing them.

Skywishes was discovered around the same time, wasn't she? And she popped up just recently. I think it's likely Minty and Sweetie Blue will end up as bonus ponies somewhere down the line.

Those small bow barrettes which came with Great Hair ponies

Which, interestingly enough, originated in the Takara MLP line 9 years earlier.

You also have good restraint to only stick to the show characters.

Haha, yeah. It's not that I don't like the toy-only characters. Some are quite pretty and I do feel tempted sometimes.

But on the other hand Cheerilee and the mane 6 are all pretty much the same toy with minor differences to eye shapes and wings/horns. Technically I have 7 of the same toy... so buying even more of the same toy, only with different colors, feels like overkill.

I know that is kind of what MLP is about, but atleast in earlier generations there were different poses. (and the G4 raised leg pose is so similar to the standard one, I don't see why they even bothered).

However, when Hasbro makes characters from the show that I like, I will feel very compelled to buy them nonetheless. XD

Thanks for the comments! It's hard work to style hair (and to make it look somewhat show-accurate without cutting it), but it really pays off! I'm personally in love with Fluttershy!

Part of me wants to collect EVERYTHING from FIM line, but money and space constraints must be considered. And I'm actually pretty content with this amount of ponies, it's a good amount to have out on display. Not too many, not to few. It's like we call it in Sweden: Lagom! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagom)

Glad I was able to get the Shine Bright Luna without the castle as well. I didn't want the other Luna because of creepy eyes, and I didn't like that she looks the same as everyone else. Of course, we're probably going to get a better Luna later on, and maybe even a white Celestia in this scale, so then I will have to replace these two. XD

I always thought it was glue that Fuwafuwa had in her pigtails. Never considered that rubberbands would turn into something like that. It made sense for her to have it to keep the pigtails in place so kids could easily switch hair bands, but it's too bad other have it as well! Atleast you seem to have been able to wash off most of it very well, banditpony! =)

Or atleast until Trixie, Zecora and the others come out... I thinking about how I'll be able to fit them all on my display... =/

I don't think Hasbro would object, I bet they would love an excuse to make us buy the CMC all over again!

I really hope it happens, but if it does it's probably going to be near the end of the series.

You don`t think it would make people mad? I thought about it, I want to but i`m a little afraid. Drooling is always a good thing though :)

I doubt anyone would be mad. People often make customs of super-rare Nirvanas, and this is really no different, except much more AWESOME since you even made your own original mold!!

FANTASTIC WORK!! I've owned the originals, and I'm still getting a strong urge to get one of these. Makes me sad I don't much time for customizing nowadays.

The shape is extremely close to the original, the only things that stick out to me is that the ears are slightly smaller and they appear to have a little bit more junk in the trunk. Anyway, absolutely ADORABLE! Do they have a dot-shaped mouth under the muzzle? Otherwise one could easily drill one, just like the plug holes.

I love that you have made a smaller version as well. Sounds like they would go perfectly with Sylvanian Families furniture and houses among other things. And $60 is pretty cheap when you consider that the originals can go for almost 70 times as much!

You sir, have piqued my interest!

Sad to see you're letting her go. I was in the same situation myself. At least we'll always have the memories. =)

Good luck with the sale! I'm positive you'll get a good offer for her, I am almost tempted myself, but that would kind of defeat the purpose of me selling mine.

Pony Corral / Re: Which G4s are available with forelock?
« on: February 13, 2012, 10:04:17 AM »
Applebloom has a forelock on the back of the Applebloom/Sweetie Belle fair 2-pack (but it's combed backwards, so not very noticeable). I once saw a photo of the same set boxed on the old arena, with Scootaloo in place of Applebloom, and she had a forelock as well.

Also: Shine Bright Rainbow Dash and Fashion Style Applejack have forelocks. SB Rainbow I have seen without too, but not sure if they've made any FS Applejacks without.

I really like the horizontal forelock too. Matches their show appearance better, and gives the illusion of a fuller mane.

Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Cheerilee, Daisy Dreams and Sweetie Belle. Everyone of these also has a version without forelock.

Blossomforth, Applebloom and Scootaloo were meant to have forelocks, but unfortunately by the time they were released, Hasbro had stopped doing forelocks completely.
