Pony Corral / Re: HAAAAAASBROOOOO!!!! (In the style of KHAAAAAAAAN!)

This is kinda weird since someone recently posted here on the Arena that they returned something to Hasbro and were told the item was out of stock so only a refund would be possible, not a replacement. Consistency please, Hasbro?

Keep in mind if you do try to return Cheerilee, I'll bet the only thing you would get at this point would be a refund of your money, not any other pony. :(

But take heart, you get 100 internetz win points for your awesome thread title! XD *big hi5*

This is a good question! I'm mainly a G3 collector because I love them, but I will admit some of the choices Hasbro made are baffling.

Over 200 different G3 characters and not one boy?
Only using two molds for ALL the babies (normal babies, I mean, not special ones)?
Only putting out 7 unicorns for your whole line?

And WHY go to all the trouble of making some molds (Honolu-loo, baby sister earthie, baby sister pegasus, sitting pony) that you only use once and never again?? What a waste!

Maybe they were just trying to keep things simple. The G1 line had so many different types of ponies (I mean like seaponies, mers, boys, pegasus, unicorns, earthies, flutters, wingers, etc etc). Other than the Breezies, the G3 kept their lines simple and concentrated on just making interesting cutie marks and putting out a bunch of different toys and accessories (until they decided to just do Core 7 anyway...).

Minty!!

Heartstrings, Pepperdance! I love those designs. And Sea...something... the purple uni with the dolphin mark lol.

Boys would be nice but I'm not going to hold my breath for them to be released as singles... maybe after the playset has been out for a while...

(Dear Hasbro, I would be happy with ANY pony that is not pink, purple or white lol.)

Pony Corral / Shw your NDS love! (Pic Thread)
« on: February 07, 2012, 07:59:51 AM »
I was just looking through my collection last night and I thought some of my G3's are really pretty on the non-display side! Even without their cutie mark visible, the pose or accessories make for a cute image.

I wanted to start a thread for anyone to post pics of their NDS ponies! Any generation is welcome, I just want to see some love for the side we don't normally show off.

Which Twilight Sparkle release is that? Mine has the cutie mark on the other side.

Pony Corral / Do Pony bodies stain...each other?
« on: February 03, 2012, 12:26:21 PM »
So my ponies were in storage for over a year. And by storage I mean I put 200 loose ponies in a giant cardboard box.  But at least it was temperature controlled in a nice cozy closet in my mom's house!

I brought all the ponies out of storage and for the most part they faired just fine. Hair is all sorts of crazy, of course, but everyone seems okay, with a few exceptions.

Two of my white G3's were somehow stained, but none of the ponies in the box were wearing any clothes or accessories. One of the white ponies now has a big neon pink streak down her back, and another has a yellow stripe down her leg.

I'm assuming the color must have come from the hair and/or body of a pony they were resting on?  Has this happened to anyone else? I didn't think about not letting the ponies touch each other when I put them in storage lol.

I'm hoping to sun bleach or use some other method to remove the marks, since the pretty ponies are mint otherwise!

The orgin of the word doesn't matter, it's how people have used it since. For example, 'gay' used to mean 'happy' or 'joyful'. It doesn't anymore.

100% agreement. Words change all the time. The original way it was being used doesn't mean as much as how it's being used in the context of this situation.

I've seen a few people in this thread say the word 'derp' is fine, it's just like using the word 'duh.' Well when I was growing up 'duh' was a serious insult, it was used to make fun of and imitate mentally handicapped people. (The sound imitates the way they may struggle to talk.) If I said 'duh' in my house I got a serious talking to.

My point is, regardless of how the original bronies meant it to mean when they gave her the name ':muffin: Pony Hooves', the scene portraying Rainbow Dash and that pony could have been done a lot better, I think.

Personally I think she was adorable in the Last Roundup as a character, and shows that Ponyville isn't full of all these perfect ponies. You can be different and still be loved (at least thats how I took it).

Were we watching the same episode?? What I saw was :muffin: Pony being clutzy and wrecking things, and Rainbow Dash treating her like she was a huge hindrance and getting in the way, and snapping at her repeatedly in a rude way.

I have seen several people claim that the :muffin: Pony character shows how Ponyville accepts everyone, yet I saw none of that at all in that episode. That's what bothered me the most about her portrayal in the ep.

Pony Corral / Re: AAAAH Don't use Hasbro's elastics!
« on: February 02, 2012, 07:02:31 AM »
You know, this reminds me of a magazine article I read a long time ago, detailing the "workout" Barbie toys have to go through at Mattel before they're put on the shelves. They put the Barbie toys in a machine that bends their arms and legs 1,000 times in a row to make sure the joints don't break, throw her in a pool for 52 hours to make sure the bathing suit colors don't bleed, etc etc.

Quality control, Hasbro!

Oh crud! I guess I'd better take mine off too!

....but what about Applejack? >.> They gave her a red elastic to match her red hair tie in the show... I wonder if her hair will have a big red ring on the end... But I guess I don't mind if I just plan to leave it on forever...

Pony Corral / G3 reference site?
« on: February 01, 2012, 01:06:41 PM »
Hey guys! I'm trying to catalog my G3's by year and series (with over 200, this is quite a project!)

Strawberryreef and Dream Valley are both incomplete for G3 info, unfortunately. Is there any reference site out there that is complete for the G3's??

I don't need the Ponyville info (the tiny ponies or the anthro toys or the stuff that is classified as G3.5). Just the full-sized brushable-hair G3's that went from 2003-??? (2009 I think?)

Thanks for your help! ^_^
