I am far from a G3 expert but I think the swoop of popularity of G4, seems to have lowered a lot of G3 prices straight back to retail value!

Pony Corral / Re: Have you ever unboxed a MIB G1 pony.... :O
« on: January 19, 2012, 12:17:39 PM »
Well I ll hold my hand up and admit that I have de-boxed in the past....at the end of the day a pony belongs to the person who purchased her so its your individual call but I can completely see the side of people who are against de-boxing - everyone is entitled to their own thoughts lol!

My main defence on this comes from my accessory addiction...here is an example, over the years I have owned 3 of the Prom Queen SHS MIB - they cost me between £40 and £65 each. I sold them about a year ago - I got my money back on 2 and the other one bombed a little in price. However, I have over the same period of time managed to collect the 4 of them loose and complete....and I will tell you honestly and simply that buying these ponies individually [some with some accessories, some complete and some accessories just by themselves] has added together to cost more than what I paid for the MIB versions! Another good example of this is Sweet Clover or Good Weather - if recent ebay auctions are an indication, they are now "cheaper" MIB that you would have to pay if you were tracking down individual accessories.

So, yes, if I only wanted the pony and not the accessories, then selling a MIB and buying a much cheaper single pony makes sense but the theory that a loose and complete pony is always cheaper is not the case. I dont get it either but it seems to be the way! I am of course not claiming this is the case with every pony!

Hi I have a question. I went to create a new post in the custom forum to show off my new work and it keeps telling me my upload file is full?  or something like that?  I made sure my pictures were the correct file size and correct format so not sure what to do. Thanx!

Oh! I had something like this when I was trying to simply delete a pm....is it a white page with black text on it with lots of numbers and saying your upload is maxed?

On a Summer day,
Medley opened her
window and heard
a very strangeand haunting tune
in foreign words
and she wondered
What is that?
Who could beout there singing?
So she went
to ask Applejack
about who could
possibly be singing.
Applejack shook her
head, and replied:
"I think is very strange, i have no idea" but,
Seashell was walkin' around and Medley asked
where Star Song was
."I don't know"she replied, and
continued walking around.
Minty also heard
the strange singing
And decided to
investigate where it

*Sigh* when something is popular like FiIM - the cr*p that anyone will put the logo on is simply bizarre. You would like to think HB would look more closely at their licensing...but at the end of the day money will win out and lets face it the factory quality of a lot of their own items are hardly amazing!

Sorry it was such a disappointment - it does look super cute though.

Pony Corral / Re: TIME FOR A PONY GAME!!! ~ Pinkamena Diane Pie
« on: January 19, 2012, 01:21:09 AM »
It's all very strange.

Though it is confirmed by basically how characters address one another, that Fluttershy is a single, and first, name.

Also, it might be best if you didn't put two middle names in, because it comes off vaguely like the name of a bad fan character. Especially using a Japanese name ('Ayano' actually just means 'of colouring', though it could also be 'of logic' if you don't get your kanji right).

And I'm pretty sure we should just avoid extra names on the princesses…

…Though, Estrella is a middle name that works out fine. And it's okay to do this to Minty because she's not a show character, therefore you're free to headcanon it.

I think MintySocks just means this to be a fun game....no reading into it in any serious depth...

I love your suggestions MintySocks....

Wow! I just didnt even think cancer spots like that could be removed!!!! It makes me shamefully wonder about all the ponies I have simply declared "bait" or poor and replaced with ones without that horrible ageing mark spread

Inspiring thread! Fantastic!!!

The market is definitely down...isnt everything at the moment....and its been going that way for a while I think. The "value" of a lot of ponies has dropped dramatically but there are certainly a handful that have jumped in price. I am amazed now by how low some of the German babies go - I dropped about £40 to £50 each on Cherries Jubilee and Hopscotch - now they are closer to the £20 mark! But most of the htf Mail Orders have held their price nicely.

Yes, you are right the Mommy Charms have no value....I spent a fortune on mine but a seller somewhere in Asia seemed to come across hundreds of them a couple of years ago and they completely flooded the market [i.e. ebay!] and dramatically dropped their individual price.

Ok...the Arena has been back long enough for a game I think...so how about "The Ultimate Pony Story" written by the members of the MLPArena? [Apologies if this idea bombs but thought it might be fun!]

The idea is that together we write a story...the story should be in the same idea as backcard stories - in Ponyland and of course [duh!!!] about Ponies [any gen of course]....

The only rule is that you can only add 3 words at a time each. You can have another go as soon as someone else posts after you of course. Now this could be a very very short thread or a very long one...depends how successful we are. And the only rule is keep it PG-13!

Ok here we go
