Pony Corral / Re: Official Pony Plush?
« on: July 05, 2012, 03:12:27 AM »
I think they are much better than the other FIM plush/pillow things I have seen at the store.

Definitely!

But they still look a bit unappealing to me.
I guess it's the manes. I wish they were either show-accurate or just fluffy.

Well, good for me I'm currently in talks with a great custom maker :P

Hasbro just wants to invest what's absolutely neccessary and gain as much money as possible.
It really doesn't surprise me they're using the same graphics over and over and over.

Why show a Pinkie Pie in her usual vector look if you can show the one with the train? Gotta sell that train!
Why print the cutie marks on both sides of a pony if you can make alternatives with the mark on the other side. Gotta sell the same version of a pony over and over again! ;)

Pony Corral / Re: "What happened in your childhood?"
« on: June 27, 2012, 11:24:43 AM »
Honestly, who cares? You're okay with it, aren't you? Life is way too short for you to be bothered by what others think THAT much. Sure, you might feel weird sometimes because you don't know anyone who does the same thing, and that's normal. But everyone has reasons to collect ponies - most of us want to have more of the objects we loved when children, others just find ponies to be cute. If you really like ponies and want to have more, why not do just that?

Well said and I agree 100 %!
A lot of people collect things out of many, many reasons.
Of course it is anyone's right to frown upon collecting habits, as long as they're not rude about it.

For example, I've never understood why my mum's best friend collects elephants or why one of my friends collects angels - I just don't get the appeal.
My grandmother collects Hummel figurines - I find them to be kitschy.
Some acquaintances of mine collect DVDs (they don't even remove them from the packaging! They buy every DVD twice!) - I think it's a waste of money.

And me? I collect Ponies and Transformers.
MLP toys have been a part of my childhood, Transformers toys not at all.
A lot of people think it's a bit silly to buy toys for kids just to restore them and put them on a shelf - I think it's weird to collect anything but MLPs or TFs ;)

Don't overthink this issue too much.
You buy what you want! If it makes you happy - why not? If it helps you to relive your childhood - why not?!

Just make sure it doesn't get excessive. Food, clothes and rent should always have priority over collectibles ;)

I'd buy Cheerilee, Sweetie Belle, the two Pinkie Pies, Rarity and Princess Luna + Accessories in case you're shipping to Germany :)

I could only trade for G1s, I fear.

hmm. I sent something First Class to Germany and it's taking forever (if not lost )  I could send Priority, but is ~19USD...

Ouch!
Ok, that's a bit too much. Such a shame, I was searching far and wide for that Luna.
Good luck with your sales and trades  :)

Lol, I know and what about poor Wedding Bells Confetti? I mean they could have made her a husband..... Even as a kid I was like. 'where's the guy pony' :P

Just buy a second bride pony and - tadaa - suddenly it makes sense!  ;)

I'd love to buy a Fashion Style Luna!
Maybe I could even trade her for a Shine Bright Rarity or Pinkie? I saw them in a local store and could see if they're still available. They sell them there for 11 € (about $13.70)  :)

@ Everyone: yes, I will do more commissions when I have completed this batch. But I can't reserve slots, because I probably will raise the costs a bit. Sorry, guys
Btw, yes, I can draw sea ponies!

Have another completed commission ^^
