Pony Corral / Re: Thrifting *Finding ponies in your dreams*
« on: September 11, 2017, 04:12:17 PM »
I have had three dreams I can remember. The first was at an estate sale where I found lots of ponies in a cabinet. There were also a ton of pony ribbons in there too (probably because I had no ribbons at that point!) I woke up when I bought the ponies.

Next one is pretty simple - I just saw some G1s in a thrift store and bought them. After I bought them, I noticed they were pretty gross and had a lot of issues, but I was still happy.

The last dream I've had is being in a thrift store that looked a lot like my local Salvation Army, combined with an antique mall where my grandparents live. There were about six shelves and one bin filled with G1s! There was about two shelves full of Sundance, and the rest of the shelves were normal G1s. I even named a few in my dream like Applejack and Bowtie, lol. The bin was completely full with nirvanas, especially South African and Columbian ponies! I went to grab my mom who had to buy me the ponies for some reason, and she said no. I was devastated. Then I woke up.

I'm now getting the log out and try again message when trying to log out and I'm still having problems logging in and voting in polls. I have also gotten try again messages when trying to send a pm, but if I try again it goes through just fine.

Your art is very cute! I feel like hugging those cute ponies! :)
They're cute!
Aww, thank you! I try to make them cute and huggable
EDIT: Can you see the photos? I'm not sure if I did it right.
EDIT TWO: Can't seem to get the photos working. Here are the links to the pictures: https://www.flickr.com/photos/58404755@N05/36866711966/

Yes! I see them! So very cute!  :lovey: :art: :accomplished:
I love how you also did the cheeky row of "behinds" - not often a scene seen in mlp artwork
Haha, lol! Yeah, ponies from behind are not seen very often. I like drawing ponies from behind so I can draw all their pretty hair
So cute, I love Blossom rolling her eyes in the first drawing.
Thank you! Glad it looks like she is rolling her eyes, lol. I imagine she eventual got tired of arguing with Cotton Candy and just puts up with it now :)

Aww, so cute! I love your coloring style.  :)

Thanks!

Hello everyone! I was inspired to share some of my art after I realized my family owned a scanner

This one is from my early stages of drawing ponies, about 8 months ago. I have slowly been working on it when I have time, but it's still not finished. As you can see, Blossom is rolling her eyes at Cotton Candy for sneaking into her garden again and eating a flower. The style of the sun and landscape is from the Birthflower and Flatfoot offer around 1987.

This is a sketch inspired by the seventh UK comic extra Welcome to Ponyland: Moondancer. The poem is about how Medley, Firefly, and Moondancer are night owls and have fun together :)

This is the traced image of the sketch above, still a work in progress. I trace all of my sketches on to multi media paper so I can refine them and not have pesky pencil lines in my finished artwork. I actually tried to color this one but spilled water on it and got printer ink on it, so oops...
Thanks for reading!

EDIT THREE: Got the pictures to show up on the arena, yay!

Now I'm having problems logging in. It takes a couple of tries and gives me different messages, like the session verification failed one and the timed out during posting one. It even gave me a message on a white page just with black font. It said "Internal Server Error
The server encountered an enter all error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time the error occurred and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server log.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who's having issues. I thought I was in trouble or something! Anyway, I'm just having problems with voting in polls. Every time I try it gives me the session verification failed message and logs me out

What I do to avoid this is to do very thin, watery coats. I haven't tried this method on ponies because I haven't had to cover up marker, but it will probably work. Basically, you just water down paint and paint on thin layers allowing each to dry thoroughly. Also, if a layer is too streaky or textured, you can just buff it down. You can also buff/sand down acrylic paint you have already put on ponies if you haven't tried to remove it already. And, if you have one, you could try airbrushing? I've never seen anyone use it for ponies, but I've seen people airbrush a doll to change its body color for customizing. What I would do to airbrush is cover the hair, symbols, and blush and airbrush the affected area.

Congratulations Gator! Everyone did a fantastic job. And I totally forgot to explain mine. For some reason, I imagine Sunbeam gave Baby Moondancer her ribbon because it's the same color as Sunbeams body, and that's what my pictures based off of, lol :)

Hello! Finally got mine done :) Everyone's art is so pretty!
Edit: Still experimenting with flickr, so here is a link to the photo. https://www.flickr.com/photos/58404755@N05/36503122062/in/datetaken/

Wow. Can't wait to see what happens next, as mlp and Steven Universe are two of my favorite fandoms!

Hello! Just wanted to say that some monster high doll repaint artists use a brand called Mr. Super clear, which is an Asian brand specially made for toy customizing. I haven't tried it myself, but since it is for toys, it might work well for ponies. It is expensive though.
