If the airing out doesn't work, then definitely try the baking soda/kitty litter method Hathorcat described. It usually works great and won't ruin the scent that the pony is supposed to have.
I agree with the others, if the seller didn't note the smoke scent or that she came from a smoking environment, then that's not a fair description. The comment above is true though that the seller may not have intended to deceive. My dad never believed me his place and things he gave me stank back when he was a smoker. Now that he's quit, he is shocked at how bad his stuff really smells. He really had no idea.

I'm all for customizing etc if a pony is in bad shape but taking a sought after pony like Nightmare Moon and "upgrading" her this way isn't for me.

As per my pony addition requirements, I found myself browsing eBay and see that someone has taken the Toyrus exclusive set ponies with Nightmare Moon and made them into tree ornaments. Srlsy?  Nooooooo. Sorry I had to rant. If anyone here is the one who made them, sorry if I offended you.

She's not supposed to be grey but my G1 Ringlets has turned grey. I love grey ponies though so I still think she looks lovely after all our years together.

I'll second the recommendation of putting ponies in a sealed container of baking soda. I had got some things that I thought would stink forever but this did the trick and got rid of the smell.

If wish Hasbro would change their mind and go back to releasing at least one G3 style Art Pony again. They were so lovely. Or even a G4 style one would be ok. Something unique and creative. Size wise, I see the issue with the regular G4's being so small but the FS ones take up so much room. I guess we could argue the boxes of the Art Ponies aren't tiny either.
How big are the boxes of this year's 'Grey Mare Extraordinaire' vs the boxes of the G3 Art Ponies? I haven't noticed pics of them together.

Can a person purchase a monthly subscription online that ships to Canada? I've been looking around but I'm a total newbie to comics. Well there were my Amethyst, Archie and Katie Keene days waaaaay back but OMG PONIES!!!!!
Or if anyone would pick me up a copy, especially any "Annoying Pony" covers I'd be greatly thankful.

Now that her bangs are dry, if you're not 100% happy with the way they're sitting Got2B Glued is a good product to get hair to go any way you want. You can often get travel sized tubes of it and you need just a teeny bit of it to do the job. It's designed for human hair but VERY popular with restyling synthetic wigs in theatre and among cosplayers.
I agree with others, I'd be scared to trim any more of her hair.

Thank you so much. Looking at those pics was a trip down memory lane. I so remember those catalog pages. I would spend hours going through the Wish Book. Those sleeping bags and the bed tents I wanted to badly (She-ra & MLP) but never got them. I don't think any of my ponies as a child came from Sears but I loved the pictures.
