Pony Corral / Re: Ohh that gorgeous G4 reversed mane Cupcake... pics?
« on: February 08, 2012, 09:10:04 AM »
I sometimes see her advertised in the stock pics of some US online stores as having the reversed (blonde at front) mane, but I don't know if I can trust that what I'll get really will be the reversed mane one.

Some sites even have BOTH (reversed and non-reversed) stock images listed as the same pony! So confuzzling. >.<

Has anyone got any more pics of her? Or any other signs of her being sold anywhere?
Is she really a prototype?

If you have her, where did you find her?

I can't help but hope & pray with all of my MLP-consumed heart that the reversed mane Cupcake / Sugarcup will be more widely available in time... *sob*

Meh, to me she just looks like an even pinkier version of Princess Celestia...

Pony Corral / Re: My little pony friendship is magic MAGAZINE

I saw one of these at my local newsagents and was very shocked! - My area is usually terrible for things MLP! I took a look at it and felt I just couldn't justify buying it. The first thing I noticed was the (pretty big!) toy that came with it. Can't remember what it was. I flicked through and it was just like any other small kids magazine. I think I might just start buying them though for collection purposes. I can see the toys perhaps fetching a lot of money too.

The origin of the word "derp" really needs to be clarified. -

The first known instance of the word “derp” comes from the 1998 film Baseketball by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. During a scene where they are caught smelling underwear taken from a woman’s private drawer, Matt runs out of the room and says “Derp.”

And thus, :muffin: Pony's name is not derived from any insult towards people with disabilities. "Derp" is a reply to a stupid comment or action, and so is comparable to "duh" - a word which populates quite a lot of cartoons and is pretty commonly accepted.

personally i think they're just being a bunch of angry toddlers.
i don't see anything wrong with the episodes. in fact i think it's nice that they are acknowledging that life isn't all sunshine and fun all the time thank you very much.
either way.

Completely agreed.

I would definitely NOT want to show my kids a show that depicted life as being 100% perfect and happy and sunshine and roses all the time. It's terribly unrealistic and I believe that that kind of "wrap mah kid in cotton wool" outlook is extremely damaging precisely because it gives the child an unrealistic outlook on life, and most importantly: constant sunshine & roses DO NOT prepare them for the big, and sometimes scary world around them.

I would never want to police what cartoons my children watch, (it would also drive me mad to try to do so because it would be unrealistic for me to expect that I can) but rather build an atmosphere of education and rewarded curiosity (rather than punishment for watching "bad things", or many important but missed lessons through deprivation) by encouraging my children to speak to their parents about how THEY feel about what they watch - rather than assume I have the ability or the right to think for them.

This whole thing terrifies me... It really does.

I can't even put into words right now how much complete contempt I have for the anti-:muffin: Pony brigade.
This has gone WAY too far.

I wouldn't mind - I love my ponies either way! My shy seems to be like that too, but its cute and I love it! I forgot to add, she's one of the late wave 4 suitcase ones.

Y-...Your knowledge is CRAZY!! How the hey could you tell just by those pics?! :O

She is indeedy a suitcase pony. The Amazon ad had the "2012 edition" in the title, but I don't think I should believe this. Her hoof says she was made in 2010 - pffft! Amazon Shmamazon.

Y'all left awesome responses to my factory error Fluttershy post so far!

It has really peaked my interest, especially for those of you who have a fondness for factory error ponies, so I thought I'd start this thread for you to showcase your unique little beauties! (Or... not so... beauties!...)

Tell us how you got them, maybe you wanted them for their factory error? And just generally say how you feel about them ~ pretty show & tell.  ^.^

My initial horror and disdain has been replaced by laughter. ^_^

She kind of looks like she's confused!!

Ugh.. -_- I don't think I'll ever buy another pony online again.

I've bought 2 other G4s online so far, and this, my 3rd.

This is the 2012 edition of Fluttershy. I paid £7.75 for her. ($12.20 USD?)

As soon as the mail came through this morning I switched my webcam on and started filming my maniacal excitement as I began my first unboxing video for my first Fluttershy... But alas... the moment I got her out of her box I noticed her derp...

Excitement flattened, I stopped recording. -_- (Lol, must have looked pretty funny really, I was like "YAYAYAYAA! .......oh... dayam that's some derp).

I'm so sad because I don't know what I can do with her now she is out of the box.

Maybe I'll get used to it and it won't seem so bad. But what would you do in this situation?
Keep her? Be okay with it? Shrug it off? Be mad? Send her packing? Scream at Hasbro's QC?.....

Meh...

Baby Billie & Bunny...

She was a childhood favourite. -_- I miss her dearly... and now she's pretty expensive and pretty rare. (I struggle trying to find her anywhere).

Pony Corral / Re: So, blind bags...does everyone want them?
« on: January 29, 2012, 09:12:09 PM »
I care the most about collecting the regular ponies; I'm definitely not going out of my way for the blind bags. Part of this is down to the fact that I haven't found them in any stores where I live so far... If I stumble across any in stores, I might buy one or two each time I shop there.

My local Asda is still selling the G3 blind bags.

Wow.. that is crazy-disappointing for Hamley's of all places!

I think I'll go to Tesco or something for my happy pony shop. Having said that.. I have bought two new G4s this week and an Octavia shirt!! >.< I am getting out of control again! Halp!

Ouch... good point - I didn't even think of the incredible costlyness that is central London! >.<
