I collect Disney/Pixar Cars :) I have a nice big collection but am missing a whole lot from the last several years as they have become scarce in my country and the import expenses from overseas have been more than I can afford. When I do find some in stores I don't have I snatch them up instantly!

Congrats on finding such a gem! He's one of the Cars I'm missing, never saw him over here.

On the Cutie Mark topic:

I have gotten myself a whole new theory about why ponies only have it on one side these days. That began with G3 and the term Cutie Mark also got introduced with G3. The term Cutie Mark may be a play on the word beauty mark. A beauty mark is a single mark on your body, not something that occur symmetrically on your body. I think Hasbro's idea was that the body marking with the introduction of G3 was supposed to be like a beauty mark and therefore only be on one side of the body and they have stuck with that idea.
As to why the ponies still had them on both sides in the cartoons was maybe because that was easier in the animation instead of having to keep track of which side it should go on as someone already said, and now that it's CG animation that is no longer an issue and therefore the single sided body marking has now been implemented in the cartoons.

Personally I do not like this :( I really wish Hasbro would ditch that Cutie Mark thing and return to the original two sided body markings!

« on: August 24, 2021, 02:19:07 PM »
I'm positive there are people out there who collect them. I have a Flickr friend who collects trolls and I remember seeing on TV once a lady who had a massive collection of trolls. Maybe look them up on eBay and see what they sell for or do a Google search to see if any info pop up.

How awesome! They all look great! Congrats!  :frolic:

MLP Nirvana / Re: Italian Trickles Variant?

One thing I do find odd though is her forelock - I have never seen an Italy pony with a short forelock like that.

Me neither! But she came to me this way. maybe it was a factory error or the kid gave it a small snip. We'll never know...Imagine there was an employee at the factory who thought "Let's make some of them unique"  That "forelock" was not visible when I got her. It was combed backwards like the rest of her mane but when I cleaned the Ponies, I found that odd and combed the forelock out of, made it wet and fixed it with a wrap for two days so it would stay on her forehead and not fall back into the rest of her mane

Ah, ok, that makes sense! Yeah, it could be a factory error or a small haircut.

I'm glad to see you posted about her here :) This is so curious!

I'm inclined to think she's a genuine variant. I just find it very unlikely that she would be manipulated when the lot otherwise is in such good condition. I looked at all the pictures in your Flickr album and I think her neck seam looks untouched and what you are showing and telling about the tail inside the body sounds to me like an ordinary Italy tail. I know there are several hair variants among Italy ponies. One thing I do find odd though is her forelock - I have never seen an Italy pony with a short forelock like that.

I am very much into toy photography! It's my passion! :D I think I have a couple of links to MLP photos in my signature.

I loved seeing your photos!
Of the indoor shots my favorite is the one with Butter Kiss/Swirly Whirly in the sunny window.
Of the outdoor shots I love the one with Up, Up and Away and the one with Strawberry Fair/Sugarberry, Milky Way in the tree and on the path and the snow photos!

So cute!
I love taking photos of my ponies (I may take it too seriously lol)

I keep getting an error message when trying to send a private message. I get the message "The following error or errors occurred while posting this message:
Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message."
I have tried to log out but then I also get an error message: "Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again." I have tried logging out from different pages but get the same error. I have tried closing the browser but it's the same when I open it again. I am unable to log out, I am unable to send a private message and I just tried logging in from a different browser in case it was a browser issue but I got the same error message and could not get logged in.

Please help!

I have not seen those before. That Rex does look cool! I love his space helmet! It's cool all of them have accessories that appear in the movies.

Off Topic / Re: Anyone get into horse riding as an adult?
« on: November 10, 2020, 09:49:11 AM »
Growing up I was very much into horses. I read tons of books about them, drew them and played horse a lot! It finally got to the point where I got to try out riding at a riding stable. It wasn't a good experience, though, and after that I tried hard to leave the horse obsession behind. It was always lurking in the background, though. Many years later my cousin, who is a lot younger than me, was also horse obsessed and she and my aunt took riding lessons at a riding stable. My cousin asked me if I wanted to ride (she asked pretty much everyone I think lol) but I was actually interested in trying it because I never got that wish and need properly met when I was younger. I think I was in my late twenties at that point. So I started taking riding lessons at the same stables as my cousin and aunt and I got on the same team as my aunt. That team was almost only adults all with a moderate skill level and the instructor was really nice. I took lessons there for I think 7 years before my life took a turn where it was no longer possible for me. I am very happy that I got to do it even though it was also very frightning and challenging for me - mostly because of the other people there because I have social anxiety but also because horses are big and strong animals and I was also a little afaid of them. But I fought the fear and I got a life long dream fulfilled and it made a difference for me.

I think you should definately go for it if you want but I would suggest checking out different possibilities and not just signing up at the first stable you find. Visit different stables/facilites and get a feel of how the people are. It will never be fun if the instructors are mean and won't respect you. Maybe you'll be able to find a place that has teams for adults or you can get private lessons like it has already been suggested. Make sure someone can help you out with the horse in the beginning so you learn how to act around it and how to interact with it and ask for a horse that is good with beginners. Don't let your age and your fear hold you back if you have a genuine wish to ride!

Pony Corral / Re: Favorite Species of Pony?

Oh ok :) I thought maybe there was some cool info about unreleased ponies I didn't know about. It would have been awesome if Hasbro had made more unicorns during G3! Pegasi too!

It's pretty much a tie between earth ponies and unicorns for me but I voted unicorns because they can teleport.

I picked unicorn, because there's hardly a unicorn pose (at least in G1...did they even make unicorns in G3? Not sure I've ever seen one!) I don't love. But I love pegasi and earth ponies as well.

There were 8. Would have been 18, but Hasbro was stingy.

What do you mean? Did Hasbro have plans for more unicorns they just never released?
