Trader & Shipping Support / Slight delay on shipping items this week...
« on: November 17, 2013, 10:55:31 PM »
If you are waiting on an item to be shipped from me, there may be a delay.  Half of our town is without power, including my house.  (I am accessing the Arena from my phone).  I might be able to get quotes if the USPS site works on my phone, but can't print labels.  I will update when power is restored but the power company says it may be a few days.

Pics of new sale items will go up after power is restored as well. :)

I originally wanted to do that, but even that is an overwhelming task with how many ponies I have.  The open display space will show quite a few ponies, but I also have the better part of two closets plus a long, under-the-bed container filled with ponies waiting their turn. I'd conservatively guess that I have between 700-800 ponies at this point. My Paradise Estate is dismantled and stored in the closet, and ponies fill each room about 3 layers deep!  My rares are on permanent display in a small glass-doored cabinet.

One thing I've struggled with is parting with variations of ponies.  I don't collect variations of the same character, but sometimes I'll end up with, say, a mint regular Lickety-Split and a mint So Soft Lickety-Split and debate over who stays and who goes (I picked the regular one...then ended up with another SS Lickety-Split!).  Right now I have regular Sundance, SS Sundance, and TAF Sundance and feel like I really should choose...

Pony Corral / Feeling like I need to downsize, don't know where to start...
« on: November 17, 2013, 01:33:15 AM »
Now, don't get me wrong...I still LOVE ponies, and I have ponies still on my want list that I'd really like to have!

However, my collection has gotten *massive*.  The G2s and G4s don't take up too much space, but the G3s still take up quite a bit of real estate even after multiple purges, and the G1s take up most of a room!  I'm feeling overwhelmed by how many ponies I have and sad that there is no possible way I can display them all.

At the same time, though, I'm having a hard time figuring out who I can sell off.  There are very few G1s that I don't like (I sold off all my BBE babies, both my Eyelash Princesses and almost all my Newborn Twins this summer) and there are sets that I wouldn't want to break up, like So Softs and Twinkle Eyes.

How do you guys figure out who to weed out without regretting it?

Pony Corral / Re: Is buying from Taobao ethical?
« on: November 16, 2013, 11:11:57 AM »
So far the only things I have bought from Taobao are non-MLP, non-US release items that I would have been totally unable to get any other way.  I believe that the items I purchased are likely overstock/discontinued stock rather than prototypes.

I got my Rapunzel with original, re-curled hair for $480 so I'm thinking a rehair should be even lower than that!

Pony Corral / Re: Who are the most "common" G1 ponies?

The most common ones I've gotten have been Cotton Candy, Sundance, and Windy.

Got my "natural redhead" Ariel yesterday and I'm so excited that I also have the 1989 Holiday Ariel on the way!

I know, it's ridiculous :(  They have not responded to the dispute yet, nor emails or phone calls.

This card set wasn't even for me, but for another Arena member who requested that I try to order one for her!  If ordering two sets wasn't allowed (even though I *did* receive an email from them when asked saying that it was okay), then they should at least have refunded me!

Have these dolls came out yet?

These are the 2011 winter wardrobe sets from the Disney Store. They are UK/European Exclusive. They usually come out with a Winter Wardrobe set each year. So we should be seeing the 2013 one soon. I love these sets but sadly I don't know anyone in the UK that would be willing to pick up these sets for me and the Ebay prices for these sets are outrageous.

Nooooooo....I need that Ariel set!  So sad to hear that it's an international exclusive and expensive!

The big horse is Silkymane from Lady Lovely Locks, I think.  That is Silkymane's saddle at least! :)
