What, no Moondancer with blue hair? I seem to recall there's only one of those around the community, though...

I bought my green hair argie Moondancer back in 2006 at Pony Fair. She's in rough shape, but I adore her, and have only seen Shelti's for sale in the time since then. (Though in fairness, I haven't had the sort of time to go looking on ebay any more, since I've also had two kids since then!)

Maybe it did belong to her after all! I took a couple of pictures with a piece of white computer printer paper for the background. It looks to me like an apricot color, but I wouldn't rule out fading, or even possibly that it traveled from places far far away.

Anyone else have a match? Or a picture of a faded wand to compare it to?

Pony Corral / Orange Princess Pony wand?
« on: July 28, 2012, 02:52:21 PM »
I bought a Princess Starburst at the local toy show today because she came with both her hat (yellow w/ stars and moons) and an orange princess wand. I was certain it didn't belong to her but thought maybe it belonged to Princess Taffeta. Now that I'm home looking at Princess Pony accessory sites, I can't find a match anywhere. I remember some else posting about one at some point but I can't find it with the search function. Can anyone help?

I can try to upload a picture later one when the kids are in bed. It is unquestionably orange, not faded from any other color princess wand.

Pony Corral / Re: Is hasbrotoyshop down for anyone else right now?

Last year, the Comic-Con sale didn't start until the Tuesday after Comic-Con. I just double-checked my emails and I am certain of this fact. I did wait around all day Monday but nothing came out of it. So if you don't see anything come up today, don't panic.

The sale started around 12pm EDT (9am PDT). My son has preschool in the summer at 12:15pm and I was racing the clock (and ultimately failed) to get the exclusives because I had to get him to school.

If you want to save yourself some time (and a better chance of getting exclusives during the rush), log into your hasbrotoyshop account ahead of time. It's one less thing you'll need to fight on the server.

Hope this helps!

Pony Corral / Re: This is the sweet spot for finding cheap G3s.

Exactly! I bought a bin of 100 G3s for $50 at a toy show in February, and was promised by another seller that he'd bring his bin to the upcoming show. :)

I have her. Got her at least 6 years ago, when she was common for a very short period of time. (I saw 4 or 5 of her in a month, and she was running about $10-20).

HK Yellow Moondancer was sold in Australian and New Zealand. I bought my Yellow Moondancer from an Australian seller. She was sold in Denmark and possibly other European (Scandinavian?) countries as well. So far it seems - and correct me if I'm wrong - that Yellow Hong Kong Moondancer was sold in the same countries that had the alternate birthflowers as well.

There is an Italian Yellow Moondancer as well. She's actually easier to spot because normal Italian Moondancers don't seem to be nearly as prone to discoloration as regular white HK Moondancers. Italian Yellow Moondancer has blue eyes, like all My Little Ponies marked as Made In Italy. (The HK Yellow Moondancer has purple eyes.)

Sugarberry, I still have fond memories of meeting up with you back when my husband and I lived in Santa Clara, California. :)

Been around since 1998 on ponypeople mailing list, alt.toys.my-little-pony, a couple of Yahoo forums, the old Trading Post, and now the Arena. I've gone from a college student, to a married working engineer, and now I'm the mother of two (the younger being only a year old) and my time online has decreased each step of the way. I still love ponies and collect them, but I just don't have the time to dedicate to pony communities any more. I also don't have any local pony friends in Pittsburgh, so it's just me and my kids getting into the hobby, so it's not quite the same. I spend most of my time here on the Nirvana form trying to pick up the last few Moondancers I need (Greek, South African, Argentina) and country ponies (South Africa, Colombia, and Venezuela). But I have fond memories of all of the collectors I've met - in real life or virtually - over the last fourteen or so years of collecting. :)

These are the G1s, right? I was just lamenting yesterday that I never got around to connecting with an overseas buyer to get some of them. I'm definitely interested!

I can think of two I've seen for sale over the past few years.

TRU in Pittsburgh (North Hills) has a half empty box left as of last night. I bought four of the six I needed; still looking for Applejack and Minty!

I got them this afternoon at the Cranberry Wal-Mart in Pennsylvania (just north of Pittsburgh). I haven't looked yet to see which ones I got; I bought the remainder of the box on the shelf, which came to 18 packs, no doubles. I'll probably save them to open when my son gets home from preschool because I think he'll enjoy it as much as me. :)
