I saw it yesterday.  Aladdin, The Lion King and Lilo and Stitch are my top 3 favorite Disney movies. I loved the live action Aladdin! But The Lion King fell a little flat for me. It just wasn't as charming or endearing as the original.

More details about my thoughts and feelings. Lots of spoilers!!!!!!
Spoiler
I did like that they changed up the animal puns in Zazu's morning report. Especially the two giraffes that were caught necking.  I didn't like that they got rid of Ed's laugh. I don't mind that he talked now, but I missed his laugh.

The scene where Mufasa is talking to Simba under the stars has always been my favorite part. In this version they took out Mufasa's line, "Being brave doesn't mean you go looking for trouble." To me that was the line that got Mufasa's point across the best.

The stampede scene was heart pounding in CGI! Mufasa's death has never made me cry. (I rarely cry at movies. ) But I've always found it heartbreaking and hard to watch. The CGI version is equally so.

I didn't like the changes they made to Timon and Pumbaa's personalities. Timon isn't as... bossy. And Pumbaa isn't as dim witted. Pumbaa didn't screw up Timon's phrase and tell Simba to "put his behind in the past." But in Hakuna Matta Pumbaa actually said the word "farted". I guess Disney decided that wasn't a bad word anymore.  :lookround: I did enjoy the extended scene of them singing The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Nala's arrival in the jungle made me jump. It's completely different from the original and I wasn't expecting it.

I was disappointed that they took out when Timon and Pumbaa dressed in drag and did the hula. But at the same time, I can imagine that would look super silly in hyper realistic CGI. Them singing a bit of Be Our Guest was cute. I'm glad that they left out the Arsenio Hall grunting. That joke is far too outdated.

I did like how they showed how Nala escaped from Pride Rock and how Simba's fur made it to Rafiki.

I didn't buy many of the dolls. I wanted Jay because I wanted him to go with my collection of Aladdin and Jasmine dolls. I searched for quite a while before my mom stumbled across one at Wal-Mart. Then I also got Lonnie (I think that's her name.... Mulan's daughter) because she was so pretty.

At Wal-Mart today I did pick up the issue of People magazine that has the article about Cameron's death. I'm irritated that he didn't get the main cover picture. Just a tiny picture in the corner.

I bought a loose Carlos doll off eBay the day I found out the Cameron had passed away. I tried looking for a new one by searching Google shopping. I figured that would be cheaper than fighting fans and greedy sellers on eBay. But it was early enough that most of the sellers hadn't had a chance to jack of their prices yet. Although, I did see one seller that had a MIB Carlos doll jacked up to $950.00!

I've been wanting a Descendants shirt since the first movie came out. But I've been having trouble finding one I like. My favorite characters are Jay and Carlos. But the vast majority of the shirts only have the girl characters on them. I tried Google shopping again. I saw a couple I liked that included the boys, but they were from second hand sites and were too small for me. I ended up ordering this one from the Disney Store.

I'm still looking for one that includes Jay and Carlos.

I've been heartbroken all week.  :wail: :wail: :wail: :wail: :wail: :wail:

I enjoyed watching him on the Disney channel. He was an amazing dancer! I haven't collected very much Descendants merchandise, but I've picked up a few things this week.

I read the other day that Disney cancelled the red carpet premier and is going to donate the money to Cameron's favorite charity.

They've been at my Wal-Mart for a couple weeks now. Between my mom and I we've bought 4. 3 of those 4 were young Simba and Nala.  >_< The other was adult Simba and Timon. I really want Mufasa. Maybe now that I have the codes I can find him.

This is why I always order cakes in person. That way I can flip through the box and point at what I want.

I do find it strange that the artist randomly added a pony to the cake. I wonder if the artist is a pot loving brony. :P The art does remind me of CorpseyPuff's My Little Demon artwork.

I showed the article to my mom when I found it. Even my highly conservative mom got a good laugh out of it.

I saw this article this morning.  :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

A mother tried to order a Moana birthday cake for her daughter,  but didn't exactly get what she wanted. Thankfully the daughter was turning 25 and not 5.

It's marked "1989 L.G.T.I. China" on the bottom.

Anymore I'm lucky to get $5 each for most of the 13 in Care Bears. And the sit forever before they sell. The cousins do a bit better. The one with the tag will be the easiest to sell. I don't know how much though.

Thanks. I just bought the one from Best Buy's website. I may grab this one too and see which works best.
