Pony Corral / Re: Who is the most expensive pony in the World?
« on: December 29, 2018, 03:27:59 PM »
How many g1 prototypes are known? That are confirmed to exist, not just from catalog pictures? I know of:
-BBE Sunlight
-Alt pose Sunnybunch
-Giant wax shy pose Bubbles
-Lavender My Pretty Pony
-That birthflower pony with purple hair, a yellow symbol and unpainted eyes
-The purple rainbow baby pony with pink, yellow, green and blue hair, and no symbol
-Collector pose Sundance (I know this one's controversial, but she looks real to me. Or was she proven fake? I haven't kept up)
-The painted U.K. school ponies
-The alt pose U.K. baby ponies

Any I'm missing?

I think someone has a Birthday pony prototype and there's Sunspot prototype too and on Ebay someone was selling last summer prototype teeny tiny ponies and a sparkle pony prototype. Mylittlewiki also has some collectors photo of a Cocoberry prototype. And wasn't there a baby Explorer prototype too? And I think someone on arena has a Takara prototype.

Thank you, this helps a lot!

Right, I forgot about Sunspot! And wooooow, that Coco Berry is GORGEOUS! Such a shame her official release was downgraded to generic pastel blue and fading pink :\

And I keep hearing about these teeny tiny and sparkle prototypes, but I've yet to see a picture of them, even when I went looking on eBay last summer shortly after they were purchased. I'd also love to see that Birthday Pony prototype if anyone has a picture  :lovey:

I have no idea is she even confirmed real. I also found a screenshot of the glow n show prototype from my gallery:

Sorry for not cropping it!

My collection has doubled this year, I have absolutely no idea of how many did I get this year! Too many dozens of ponies, mainly G1s.
Most exciting additions to my collection have been white HK Moondancer, greek Baby Bowtie and one of the crazy UK Princess variants!
I'm also most likely gettin brazilian Minty, Starshine and Pretty Parlor aka Ponei Palace next year via a friend! Graminha/Minty is already at her place

Cinnamononions mentioned GoBots! I got one of those recently. It's more interesting that modern plastic McD's Transformers toys, even if it was the toy that was the worst disappointment to get as a kid if you wanted a Transformer.

I have to disagree because a GoBot Cheetor was my most well loved Transformers toy as a kid haha. It was simple enough and it was A ROBOT CHEETAH, what else could a child like me have asked for.

Old thread but oh well. There's obscure stuff I always grab if I see at thrift shops like Brush a Loves, Playskool GoBot animal Transformers, and Monsuno toys.

And I collect Digimon stuff, but my main interest in Digimon toylines are european plushies by a small company called Jemini - now that's obscure because I haven't heard of Jeminis Digimon plushies even surfacing elsewhere than Finland in good amounts.

If we are allowed to go into anime merchandise with this, then there's also Shinzo Ningen Casshan.

Also back to toys, Biker Mice from Mars action figures I accidentaly started collecting. They're known and popular here but hardly anywhere else. I recently managed to complete a basic set of all the main villains and good guys, but especialy the helmets and Modos basic motorcycle are something I still hunt for in my thrift adventures.

And, of course, last but not least; Then there's my whole Megaman Battle Network merchandise craze. My small but main collection next to ponies. The anime for whatever reasons wasn't aired here so the toys are pretty hard to get for me and I'm settling with only the things I want the most.

There's a mint in package piggy pony on eBay right now with a price of around $7,400 Canadian dollars....  If that one sells I don't think I've seen one go that high before.

I think those piggies have been there for a loong time. I doubt they'll ever sell.

Wasn't there last summer an Ebay listing of four G1 prototypes (three teeny tiny babies and one glow and show or sparkle pony prototype) that sold for... 2500 or 4500 dollars or something like that?

What a lovely MOC to own!  :cheer:  Please post pics of your complete G2 Mansion if you get a chance. I would love to see the accessories that come with it :frolic:

Will do! Probably around the holidays though ;)

Ah yeah, I noticed that on sale too. It was fairly cheap if I remember correct? Good to hear it went to great hands!!

I think the price was fair :)  And yes, back to the Netherlands ;)

Well atleast the pony will feel like it's back home :D

I'd say G1 prototypes, takaras and south africans. Do south africans even ever sell for under a 1000 dollars? And they just might be even more limited in production than Takara ponies.
Ladybird and Birthday are nowadays far far from priciest and many other nirvanas stand at the same price range. From US ponies mail order Rapunzel is the most valuable, going for around 600-900 dollars.

I could mention I have stopped seeing crazy amounts of discolored Moonstones. I mainly see normal ones nowadays, really. Maybe they solved the issue? Also instead a lot of head-body mismatch Parasols are showing up here...

I wonder is it possible they were sold separately? Because that would explain why one is more common than the other. Or is there proof the mexican newborn twins were sold together?

Whizzers pose! The ponies look like they're just about to fly, but the pose still remains very simplistic.

Considering your location it's more likely the Non So Soft version. Also apparently the white spots are placed slightly differently in NSS and So Soft versions, or so I assume based on My Little Wikis pictures, wich still supports she is the non so soft one.

MLP Nirvana / Re: Brown argie Blue Belle??!
« on: December 09, 2018, 08:54:56 AM »
If there's multiples like this, could be a batch of plastic that's aging badly.  If the degradation is light or oxygen driven, a pony that was standing on her hooves most of the time would have paler feet while one that wasn't would be a more even colour all over.  It's strange that it would affect the hair too, though.  Most interesting!

Makes sense, yeah. The hair could be dyed though, the example I found had much more brown hair than the one Maycrestmom has.

Post Merge: December 09, 2018, 09:03:01 AM

Thats just bad aging, ive fixed argie bluebelles in that condition a million times with hydrogen peroxide and sun and they turn to their normal blue color. Same with the hair its just aged. Argies are known for turning brown, I have a lickety split thats completely brown with yellow hair and it is just aged. Also if you open the pony up most probably it will be light blue on the inside.

Well that's new information. Nirvanas are all so unique, there's so much to learn of each countrys variants. I know piggie Blue Belles often fade from blue to grey, that italian pink ponies turn to white easily and mexican pink ponies apparently can get extreme yellowing, but this was new. Thank you for the information! Though I disagree on the last sentence, with discoloration extreme enough to affect inner legs and hooves, the insides probably are a mix of brown and blue.
