Off Topic / Re: Gifting Yourself On Christmas?« on: December 24, 2015, 12:14:07 PM »
I have gifted myself a PS4 and new pony shelves.
About gifts in general, I prefer to only buy something if I find an item that makes me think of the person in mind. Like a friend who is a roller derby player, she got a rollerskates pony from me when she got her spot in the national team. For that reason I don't like Christmas because the gifting often feels forced. 34

Pony Corral / Re: What's your pony hunting strategy?« on: December 09, 2015, 06:08:17 AM »
All kinds of flea markets, car booth sales, thrift stores, you name it. I am willing to look for anything everywhere and even do some digging because sometimes you find something worthwhile. Like G1 babies in a sea of fakies.
Recently I have joined a lot of collector and non collector groups on Facebook to scout for ponies. I am only collecting G1s and since there is an influx of new collectors the prices have gone up radically. I just bide my time. Other than that, I keep an eye out on Ebay and the Swedish equivalent of Ebay. 43

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Re: What game are you playing? Cont.« on: December 04, 2015, 11:31:12 PM »I bought a bunch of other games during the sale that I never played - Portal 1 & 2, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and The Beginner's Guide (which I wanted because of how much I loved The Stanley Parable) but I haven't touched them yet. I have totally missed The Beginner's Guide, I need to check it out, thank you! I can also recommend playing Portal 2 in co-op. It's an awesome game to play together. 45
Off Topic / Re: Let's talk languages!« on: December 04, 2015, 11:28:01 PM »I feel the same way with mandarin tones. I can apparently say my flatmate's name correctly, but the tones are so tricky when all together in a sentence. Japanese is easier in this respect, although there are a lot of homophones and contextual implications, especially in classical. I feel exactly the same about mandarin tones. A friend of mine speaks mandarin and it always sounds lovely and intricate. |
