Pony Corral / Re: What would you do with this pony?

Poor girl!  I agree, she would make an excellent custom project.

Ooooh...  My first two ponies were given to me when I was two, but I wasn't really into MLP until I was seven and I picked out a G3 Minty as a gift for a friend.  I wanted her sooo badly.  My parents bought me Skywishes and Butterscotch and I amassed a small army of fakies from the library's summer reading program.  But I still searched everywhere for Minty.  I had a keychain and a tiny tin and a McDonalds figure, but I could never find the actual pony.

If it's lipstick in the mane, you could try blotting the stain with rubbing (ethyl/isopropyl) alcohol to see if that budges it.

If it's nail polish, you could try acetone or ethyl acetate, but as always be careful with it around painted areas.

Unfortunately, one of nylon's lovely qualities is its readiness to suck up dyes. If the hair itself has absorbed the red color, there may be little that you can do at this point. Rit makes a dye-remover, but that has the possibility of stripping all color out of her mane, not just the red. :(

Best of luck!

I think the acetone worked!  Her mane is a little frizzy now, but the color is mostly gone!

I've straightened and conditioned her hair, and she's drying on the patio now.  I managed to get rid of most of the friz, except at the very tip of her tail, where I think I will just trim it off.  Thanks for your help, everyone!

Oh, I just downloaded it the other day for PS3!  My brother bought it for me as a gift so we could play it together.
I haven't tried it yet, but he says it's one of his favorites.

Morning update!
I had her tail soaking in fabric softener overnight, and I can definitely see an improvement there.  It's much softer, but it will still probably have to be straightened.
I haven't seen much of a change with her mane.  :/  At this point, I'm beginning to think it's nail polish.  Any advice there?

for extreme frizz we have used a electric flat iron (for ladies hair) on a few strands at a time with lots of diluted conditioner to defrizz.  it takes patience and you have to be careful.

I have success pics here somewhere I can post.

I will try that if the fabric softener shows no improvement.  I have a clamp style curling iron.  That will work, right?

Is the stuff in the mane red or brown?  If it's brown it may be rust from a ponytail holder. I've had luck with toothpaste removing rust from a mane or tail.

It's definitely red, not rust.

The poor girl has been through quite a lot.

You can try soaking in liquid fabric softener for the tail. I had a pony bride and after many soaks her hair became pretty nice again. I just left her sitting with her hair in a bowl of it and after awhile I would wash it out and check and then resoak if needed.

Just undiluted fabric softener?  I can try that!  I know I've got a bottle around here somewhere.

Okay, so I've got this little darling mostly cleaned up.

SHe's just got two problems left.  She has something red in her mane - I'm guessing either nail polish or lipstick - and her tail is super frizzed at the tips.
I was going to try some eye makeup remover on her mane, but I couldn't find mine.  That would remove it if it's lipstick, right?  I'm already tried washing it with dish soap and shampoo.  And I've tried conditioner and dipping in boiling water for the tail.

Can anyone help this poor pony?

The furniture is 1/6 scale.

I'm waiting on a doll!  It's on layaway, so I'm not going to get it until January.  But I'm so excited!
