I love both, but if I had to pick, SNES all the way. Some of my absolute favorite games of all time were on SNES, and while I really liked some Genesis games, none of them rank as all time faves (for me) - though Genesis does hold a special place in my heart because little kid me worked a bunch of extra chores so I could get one from a pawn shop so I could play Sonic The Hedgehog. ^^*
Still, have to give it to SNES overall.

I think everyone else pretty much covered it. I've had a fairly high rate of G1 "in the wild" finds and I still come away empty handed MUCH more often than not. And the ones I do find are usually in pretty sad shape, so there's also that. (Restoring is fun though!) i do see G3s a lot but buying them made me fall for the dang things, so proceed with caution. You may end up wanting to keep them.
