Awwh. They're darling.

Here's a couple of pics of my Fluttershy. No cute close up pics, because those are not my thing.

Pony Brag Arena / Found my childhood ponies!

Long post here!

I'm on holiday visiting my grandparents at the moment, and they asked me to sort through boxes full of junk the rest of my family left here when they moved overseas. Well, it wasn't all junk. I found my childhood ponies

G3 would have been about to emerge at the time I had these, but I played with G1s as a child because they were hand me downs from my sister. I played with them for many years, and thought they were gone forever, so it was quite a shock to see them again!

Beach Ball has had almost all her hair cut off but it still glows vibrant purple in the sunlight. And I can still remember sitting on the lounge room floor giving poor Birthday Pony a haircut. I was quite proud of my skill at the time lol. I hardly remember the fakie, but it sure needs a clean!

I know two or three of my childhood ponies are still missing, but I think those might be gone forever. As for the ones I did find, they're pretty baity, but I'm still going to clean them up as best I can then put them on display. I might rehair them one day, but for now I'd rather leave them as I found them :)  I don't have many G1s, but finding these has really made me appreciate G1s in good condition, even those that are considered common. I can't really express how happy I am to have found my ponies, especially Starglow. Starglow was green and glowed in the dark, so she was always my favourite. I am absolutely thrilled to have found her... Starglow is my all time favourite pony, and now I've found the one that was so special to me

She's going to look great next to her translucent US twin :)

Tulips, hope you're able to get a refund/be able to return it. I'd call the obvious lack of QC a major item fault, so definitely request a refund from Popcultcha citing consumer law. "Variations" my foot. All the best! Let us know how it goes :)

Does anyone have people in their family that actually pressures you to sell your ponies, or lectures you about it? I find this just as annoying as having to justify collecting.

I have a sibling who says my pony collecting 'makes me completely unrelatable to normal people'. Another sibling, when visiting my apartment, said ponies are for children... then just went and took my only MIB G1 out of its display case and almost succeeded in giving it to her child to open.

Unfortunately, there will always be nasty, superficial people around to belittle you and the things you love. I mention ponies if it's relevant, and have never hidden my interest. I believe that people should be kind to others, and that people should do what makes them happy. This is how I treat others, and if they in turn are rude, they aren't worth the time. But I know this is easier said than done... unfair comments can really sting, and letting go isn't always an easy thing to do

Off Topic / Re: The Wonderful World of Accents
« on: August 26, 2015, 07:02:45 AM »
I've got a hybrid of Australian, American & British accents. I lived in Australia for most of my life, but took subjects at school on speech & communication which forced me to pronounce words properly, so I sound British/American at times. My partner is American, which also contributed  :P  Like some others here, I sound Australian to Americans, and American to Australians :)

« on: August 25, 2015, 06:03:41 PM »
I kinda like the idea of gender being unimportant. Like why can't everyone just like and do what makes them happy regardless of their genitals. If frills and makeup and glitter make you happy why not indulge that interest no matter what set of genitalia you have?

Exactly my thoughts :)

Pony Corral / Re: WLF Flutterbat Figure... disappointed :(

Wanted to update and say that it took a few weeks to sort out, but I received a refund :) However, I didn't get a shipping refund. The company doesn't make international returns easy... they have no official guidelines for parcel registration/insurance requirements, and I wasn't eager to fork out $50 for registered & insured shipping back to the US.

I also learned that Paypal shouldn't be used for pre-orders   Because I got the item more than 60 days after the transaction occurred, the company could not issue a refund. Instead, they had to make a Paypal payment, and because of the intl' Paypal fees it took a few tries to have the right amount sent to me.

Lesson learned :(  But very glad I was able to get my money back

Pony Corral / Re: The Underrated Ponies Appreciation Thread!

I can think of quite a lot of G1s that are underappreciated and agree with most of those already mentioned, but for G3s it has to be Wondermint - I love her colour combo, pose and name (surprise surprise!), she is such a sweetie ;)

I agree! Wondermint is absolutely beautiful

Their customer service is asking me to return the package via my country's postal system, and include the shipping receipt in the box and they will reimburse me. Intl' registered shipping to the states is $40+... so no way. I also cannot give them the shipping receipt issued at the post office because this is my only record :(

They shipped to me via UPS. I don't understand why they can't send me a return shipping label. Really inefficient international returns procedures. I think I'll just ask for them to refund the item only, then try sell the figure.  :(

I have never bought again from this company since their messy re release of  exclusive :muffin: Pony :)

Sorry to hear about your experience. I doubt I will buy from them ever again
