Aggressiveness also depends on the season.  Unless it's yellowjackets, which always seem to be pissed off.  Can't stand those butt-holes.  Grats on the successful eviction!

One of those 'prettier in person' ponies who's body colour doesn't photograph well.  Mine at least is more of a pale chartreuse than a muddy pea green.  She was the last or second last TAF I got, not sure if it was her or Munchy.  Both were elusive.

Selective sun exposure would make sense as well.  UV is pretty powerful!

I don't know - the way that the damage is concentrated only around the permanent marker areas makes me strongly suspect someone tried cleaning him with something very nasty.  It's a classic look for acne cream victims - bleached out spots around old marker marks.  Not saying that plastics can't age like that as well, but it's a bit suspicious being around every mark, and only the marks, no?

I seem to recall getting a few different types of DC capes, your lighter purple one being the less common, also less dense / more flexible than the (what I believe is) standard darker purple?  They're probably just factory variants - Dream Castle was heavily produced.

Ouchie - poor lil' pony.  Pinks and reds are notoriously fickle, as are the 'non-mainstream' pony production lines who often used different base materials than the HK/China factories.

I keep mine in my sticker book along with the flat stickers.  Trading card 9-pocket pages for stickers that aren't sticky anymore.  Most storage pages for collectibles are designed to be safe for long term storage.

I got the impression it was concentrated/limited to the hair but if it's the whole inside of the head, I'd agree with Skeen - plasticizer leech seems a likely culprit!

You've got four, maybe five very different markets to cater to - G1, G2, G3, G4 and Equestria dolls. Most buyers are not going to be interested in more than 1-2 of those categories.  I'd split them up by generation at a minimum.  G3.5's and McDonald's ponies are hard to even give away, same with the sparkly G4 fakies at the back of the third-to-last picture.

Probably only the G1's are worth selling individually, maybe a few of the less common G3/G4's (not my area of expertise).  Definitely not thousands of dollars.  The G1's will probably get an average of ~5-10$ each, less if they've got haircuts, chews, rubbed symbols, poor hair or any other damage.  Lady Flutter and the two MO Birthflowers may fetch a bit more.

G3's struggle to even recoup their retail price when in mint condition and complete.  Loose in average shape, figure an average of 2-3$ each.  Value will be even less if they're sold as lots versus individually.  All the G2's are the most common out there, similar sort of 'nobody wants them' problem.

I've never actually tried this, but I always wondered if it would be doable to just buy a plush toy and "skin" it, reusing the fur as a coat for a (super so soft) pony. If the hair is too long, you could use a beard trimmer to shorten it?
It could be cheaper than buying actual fur and going through the process of dying it. Good luck with it, keep us informed!

Considering how small the individual pieces of fur are on most plushies, it would only be viable for something the size of a g1 pony or smaller.

I'd have to concur; due to the 3D nature of most stuffed animals, there are a lot of little pieces that go into each body part.  Gussets, seams and darts galore. You'd be better off trying to recycle a blanket or coat.

The process I use isn't complicated.  Size the strands of hair into plugs, knot the ends. Thread a soft sculpture doll needle down through the plug and out the neck hole, pass the ends of the hair through, pull it back out. Repeat a whole lot of times until every plug is full. It's similar to the needle and floss method but only one plug at a time instead of two, and can thus be used with shorter hair.

While I can't comment on Sunburst's particular hair shades, the cut and lay of his hair looks about right.  Most of the time when ponies are rehaired the plugs never quite curve correctly without a lot of training.  It is concerning that the inside of his head is sticky though - I wonder if it could be excess show sheen that soaked in?  Really not something that should have been used on a vintage toy.

I knot individual plugs and then thread each one.  It's tedious but quite secure and completely reversible.  Some of my customs are 20+ years old and they've held up just as well as factory weave.

I'd agree this looks like chemical damage, if not acne cream that something else unfortunately.  There's some serious bleaching that's gone on.  It can happen that bleaching stains like that spread out under paint, depending on how many years it's been since the initial damage.

RIT synthetic dye, probably.  Virtually all the fake furs are non-organic, so you'll need an appropriate dye for them.  I'd buy the fabric first and then get the dye to match.
