Bits of cut up drinking straw or hair grips (bobby pins maybe?) also work well for very small tight curls 
Precious Gem does have DIFFICULT hair to groom and restyle though, because of the tight curls. You did an amazing job
i tried with straws before the q tips but they didn't turn out tight enough

so, i've found a very beaten up precious gem, her hair was super matted, cut and very dirty since her hair was cut, i wanted at least to give her similar curls to her original ones to make up for it i had such a hard time figuring out how to make her curls similar, bit it turns out you have to curl it around something VERY fine (i usually use straws for curls, this time i had to use q tips) after a bit of trial and error, i managed to give her these adorable curls <3 visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login

I painted out the annoying cartoon face on Sunspot and replaced it with plain gold (sorry if controversial!).
i have the same issue with both sunspot and sunny daze, who made the decision of adding smileys on them? i just find it so random

well, i just got a baby toe dancer in my collection, and something that bothers me a bit is how her shoes are not painted, only the ribbons visitors can't see pics , please register or logini was thinking about painting them in the same shade of pink as her outfit, has anyone here ever done this to any of the ballerinna ponies? i am curious to see some

When I initially began collecting vintage MLP, I thought all of the Twinkle Eye Ponies had quite unsettling and weird designs. The entire set of gemstone eyes seemed bizarre and didn't appeal to me, I remember finding red-eyed Galaxy a bit creepy in particular. I'd probably never buy any of them, right?
However, when I saw a $10 eBay listing of G1 Masquerade in good condition (I'll miss those low prices), I couldn't resist purchasing and wanted her for myself. She single-handedly won me over on TE Ponies with her overall interesting design! I loved the striking greenish-blue colors of her hair, and those shiny eyes were really neat up close.
Today, I own seven TE Ponies and want every single one someday, I understand why they're so popular! It's also ironic how Galaxy became my second favorite from the set after I collected her... My top favorite is actually red-eyed Locket, she's even one of the most beloved ponies I have right now. 
i find the twinkle eyes a bit unsettling too, i don't know if i like the eye gems a lot however, fizzy is one of my favorite G1 characters, i want to get her but i'm scared i wont like her
