Yush, they are a bit heavy especially for little imp ears. Pinkie weighs a whopping 14gms!! She needs to cut back on all that pie!!! LOL Rarity weighs 13gms and the rest all weigh 11gms. They are definitely NOT for all-day wear, but for a party or a meet they'd be smashing!!!!
 :frolic:

I like 'em. Glad to see that you guys think they are cute, too. :D

Okay, I gotta throw you guys some kudos, here!! I'm so happy to have this kind of response!!! :frolic: :lovey:

I'm working on figuring out the times that would be best and I still have some fine tuning to do. But, hopefully I can start up classes in March!

This is for you darlings who have not yet been blessed by the awesomeness that is Zumba (and for those of you who have, too, to remind you why it is so awesome!) Zumba for Life!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5JmPXvdCuA

And to give you just the teeniest glimps of my own Zumba experience, well I received my Basic 1 Instructors training from this man, Erick Santana. That was a fantastic day.

Thank you again guys!! Hopefully I'll have the time to address each of you individually tomorrow; I have soo much that I want to say to you all! :lovey: In the meantime, I hope that you enjoy the links!

Cheers!

Yayyy!! :cheer: I'm soo glad to see some interest!!!! :frolic: That's certainly the inspiration that I was looking for!!

And great questions, too!! I'll be adding a couple of links to the Original Post (hopefully this afternoon) including the waiver that Must be signed to join the class, a fantastic Youtube video that gives you an idea of real people dancing Zumba-style, as well as an article or two about Zumba Fitness.

Yes, you can sometimes still participate in a Zumba class if you have health restrictions. You should Always consult your doctor before beginning any regular fitness routine and 'Zumba' certainly falls under that category! The key is to know your body's limitations and push them gently, without injuring yourself! Starting slow is the key! Baby Steps! :lovey:

If you are seriously interested in joining the class let me know what time zone you are in and the best times for you; I will do my very best to accommodate as many people as possible! I'd love to have you puuush! But, I can't say I'd be interested in getting up at 3AM to dance either!!!! LOL

Plenty of people do not post outside of their own countries for this very reason; it's much harder to keep a seller accountable when the transaction is leaving the home-side postal services network. Plus, the extra wait time can be very nerve-wracking. :yikes: I will personally only ship to certain countries based upon my own postal experiences over the years. ;)

No one is going to think less of you for not wanting to do business over the big pond! :P

Hopefully the New Feedback Guide will help everypony navigate the new feedback system. We are, in fact, having to go through each and every new feedback by hand ATT, even for older members. We are definitely working on solving the issue, but in the meantime please know that the "error" is just script language for "Thank You, that's all!" and that we should have it worded in a better, less confusing, way soon! :P

Thanks ponies for letting us know where the issues are as we settle in the new place!!

Trader & Shipping Support / New Feedback Tutorial!!

Hey, Everypony!

Welcome to Cherry's basic Feedback Tutorial. This guide is designed to help you find your way through our new and totally awesome Feedback System.

This is what you see when you click on a members profile:
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Click on "Submit Feedback" to leave new feedbacks:
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

At this stage in the FB journey you have a choice between three options: Were you the Buyer? the Seller? or was this a Trade? Choose the correct option in the drop-down box according to your transaction. In the next drop-down box you will find an option to choose "positive", "negative" or "neutral" for the transaction.
Almost finished! Next leave a brief review of the transaction in the 'Short comment' section, this will show up on the members main FB page. You can also leave a detailed description of the transaction in the 'Long Comment' box; this can be viewed by clicking "View Details." Leaving an entry in Both boxes is highly recommended.

*******Once you have hit "Submit Feedback" and if you've left your new feedback right you'll get an "Error!" This simply is telling you that the feedback has to be approved before it can be posted publicly. We are working on changing the script so that it is worded more clearly. ******
*

Clicking on a member's "Trade Count (#)"  (trade count numbers are visible above a members avatar, as well as in their profile) will take you to an entry that looks like this,

Clicking on the "View Detail" will take you to an entry that looks like this,

And that is the the new Feedback System! We are still working on it and appreciate everypony's patience and cooperation.

Thank you for viewing! Any questions? Comments? Your friendly neighborhood Mods are here to help!

Off Topic / Online Zumba Classes- Inspire Me!!!!
« on: January 30, 2012, 09:19:15 AM »

Who has time to go to the gym? And even if you do, who wants to get into workout gear and go sweat in public for an hour?!! Oh, you've tried the videos and yeah, the dances were kinda fun, but come on; those are NOT real people! They are humanoids made of metal!! LOL Can real people actually move like that?! Wouldn't it be great if there was legitimate online version of Zumba Fitness, someone out there who could teach you to have fun while not hurting yourself trying to get healthy? XD

I am a licensed Zumba Fitness Instructor and a certified member of the "Zumba Instructor Network" (or ZIN for short) but I'm not currently teaching any classes. Due to vehicle "restraints" I'm currently stranded at home making it impossible to teach at a locale for the time being...

But!

What I really want to do is teach Zumba online! I've got the space, the video equipment, I just need some lights and curtains and maybe a sound guy (luckily for me I have a couple of those available, too! :P ) It probably wouldn't cost me more than a couple hundred dollars to be ready to teach an online class. I just need the inspiration to make it finally happen!!

As much as I wanted to try and arrange free classes, I can find no free services that are not open to the public, (such as Youtube) and providing public classes are against ZIN agreements. ;)  I've decided to try "GotoMeetings" for my host- they offer a reasonable service for a class of 15 and it looks like if I charge about $2 per person for a class that size I can make enough to pay for expenses, have enough left to cover my monthly instructor dues and a couple of ponies every month. :) At three classes per weel that would be $24 a month for 12 classes. And since Goto offers the first month free I should be able to offer my first month for half price! :frolic: In order to claim one of the 15 'slots' as yours I would request that months payment (non-refundable, unless I am unavailable for class; not likely) be made in advance, due at the first of every month. Of course, "walk-ins" (hee hee) would be welcome at any time when there is room!

I was thinking I would start with three to five classes a week and offer at least three beginners classes and maybe a couple of intermediate depending on interest. The dance routine would be pre-recorded and uploaded to goto enabling me to be available to chat for all students during our class hour for any questions, problems, or anything else needed. This also provides the student the opportunity to pause the dance for a drink of water, a bathroom break, to ask a question, ect.

Classes would last one hour, with approximately 45 minutes of dance uploaded, Including both a warm-up and a cool down, per class. Routines would most likely change on a monthly basis and of course different routines could possibly become available for Intermediate and Advanced classes should there be enough interest.

So! IS there any interest??!! I'd love to make this happen, but I need students to try it out and see if it can actually work as well as I think it can. Either way, whether you want to party with me Latin style or not, I appreciate you taking the time to read this! :frolic:

Cheers!
Cherry

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: Selling ponies out from under me :(
« on: January 30, 2012, 07:58:30 AM »
As Ringlets mentioned, communication is essential for a nice smooth transaction; maybe there was some misunderstandings? And some sellers might even be clueless to the fact that they are in the wrong! It's important to let them know how you feel. ;) And, sometimes you may find a seller that just doesn't care. That's when you leave feedback: you had an agreement, they broke it and don't care. I know that it can be hard to leave someone less than nice feedback but that is the only way that those less-than-nice sellers are ever exposed! :yikes:

Remember that we Mods are always here to help you figure out the best course of action to take if you feel that you've been wronged. Sometimes it's hard to know just what to do. Hope that this thread has been of some help to you!

Thanks, gals! I'm happy that everypony likes her.

Thanks so much, ponies! :lovey: The original plan was to tease the yarn to give it a more PP look, but after trying out "the Poof" on just a couple of strands I discovered it would take hours upon hours to do. :faint:  At which point the braids started setting in, pacifying me so I let the issue go. I'm glad that she still looks soft! :P

That baffles me that it would take hours to do that; I've just been grabbing a mlp hair brush and going to town on brushing the snot out of my yarn-hair customs to completely puff the hair, and it takes me less than 15 minutes. XD

Yeah, normal spun yarn doesn't take me near as long, but this stuff was.... I guess, weaved together in a knot-type, tight weave, in intervals that made separating the individual threads nearly impossible. I love the yarn and it made nice hair, but not good perfume puff hair! XD
